I dont fly often but the hurricane will end up here with some wind etc. if we check our bags and flight gets cancelled we can still drive to florida. is there a way to get our checked bag back from them right there at the airport??

ok we have always lived in smaller towns so not used to busses or ferrys etc. I am very overwhelmed with the thought of doing busses etc. I would like to go shopping in hamilton and go to st georges to the caves and maybe the bay for a swim. we are docked at the other end and have an over night there. can someone tell me exactly how to do this? bus numbers to take, how to find out what to take and times they leave etc

where did you pick up the taxi? will there be any at the ferry?

does anyone know how far tobacco bay is from the orange ferry? how would I get there if I cant walk? how about crystal caves

If we take ferry from dockyard ship area to st george what is the cheapest or easiest way to get to the crystal caves? anyone know the taxi cost? (not a big fan of buses) the only tour I can find does hamilton first then 2 hr beach trip then to caves. why would I want to swim then go to caves? makes no sense so if we try to do this on our own can we. MIND you we are FAR country folks and do NOT ride buses or even have taxis here so that is all daunting

if you are referring to me its alaskashoreexcursions.com and they said they have no idea what is happening with the ships and docking. just try to get off early which is hard with 5,000 other people

we also are in that situation and suppose to be at train station by 745. I keep wondering if I should rebook through the ship but I wanted the all day excursion

I did call them and they know nothing more then everyone on here. they said when it gets closer they will be able to refund or do what is needed. skagway is my primary reason to want to see alaska. the railway and inside tour on way back. sounds like we wont know till real close which stinks

we are scheduled for July 27 to RRA and I will cancel my private excursion if I find out its too iffy and hopefully the ship will still have something available. looking forward to maybe a review on it from ships soon

Ok I am the orginal poster and we are not driving or flying anywhere. we are taking a big ship 5000 people and I worry it wont dock there due to landslide. I dont want to cruise if we dont get to the train ride etc. that is why I asked

I booked through Alaska shore excursions and got the all day up on train back by van. they guarantee you will be back on ship on time or they pay for what you need to get to next port. they told me they have never had an issue in all the years they have been doing it. WAYYYYYYYYYYY cheaper than the cruise ships and its all day

did anyone ship skip this year at skagway?

Only reason I want to do Alaska is for skagway and train ride etc. we are on large ship quantum. and wondering if I should ? OPINIONS?
