  1. Only a designated area in the casino and port side outdoors decks 4 and 11.
  2. Understand it was unintentional on your part, but that is no guarantee that the OP will be able to do that as it is a prohibited item as a potential fire hazard. @NewMrsSwan918, I would call RCCL and ask to speak with their special needs department to see if they can offer any help with this.
  3. Good point. I believe they typically say 24 hours, but as you indicate that may not always be enforced. But as I understand it, the refund would be as an OBC.
  4. You are welcome. Just to add, this is the same with any pre-cruise planner / app purchases.
  5. Absolutely. You can cancel if you change your mind, or if you see a lower price later and want to rebook. I believe the last opportunity to do so through the planner is two days prior to sailing. Once on board there certain time restrictions ( I believe 24 hours) but you can also cancel on board. Through the planner as described will result in a credit to the CC used for the purchase. After that deadline and on board it will be issued as an on board credit.
  6. They will pay whatever the current published fare is for 3rd and 4th passengers in your suite category. And although it should not be an issue based on your suite configuration, the ability to add them would be subject to the actual total booked passenger number at the time relative to maximum lifeboat capacity of the ship and your muster station. I only mention this as you indicate you are reaching final payment and this is a late booking add, which means the ship is likely to be very booked. As mentioned by @Georgia_Peaches, you need to contact whomever you originally booked through and they will assist with your booking modification.
  7. That's one of the primary reasons we avoid any tours and prefer to arrange port activities and sightseeing on our own. JMO and what works for us.
  8. Agree. The times we've sailed from Baltimore we arrived early, parked, went through check in, and were boarding by 11. Just our experience.
  9. Regarding the T & L opinion poll, my honest answer as far as I'm concerned is who cares? Does it really matter if a cruise line is #1 or not in their opinion? What the opinions are of a third party who may or may not have ever experienced a cruise with any given line holds no deciding value to me. While I will research the cruise lines by target demographics, on board amenities, different dining and other venues, all-in price, itineraries, etc., I put little stock into reviews and polls provided by a minority of travelers or industry associates. If my own research indicates that a cruise line or ship may be of interest to try, I will do so and form my own opinion from that. After all, IMO, that's the only opinion that matters, in particular when it comes to how and where I spend my travel money.
  10. Well it either was a joke or the OP got their answer and may be intimidated by the responses as they have not been back to comment. I'm going with the joke bet as IMO I can't imagine them seriously asking this, especially as they seem from their post to be familiar with cruising.
  11. We have done both but typically are fine with a standard balcony stateroom. In fact that is the only stateroom category we currently book. We have also only taken one cruise shorter than 7-nights, which was a 5-night quick Bermuda cruise a number of years ago. Out typical preference is 7-9 nights and have done longer, and do longer repositioning cruises, etc., on the occasion. We typically cruise at least twice a year, so from a cost standpoint, it just is a better budget balance for us to do longer cruises in a standard balcony stateroom, which gives us enough of the amenities that we enjoy, to include the balcony which we would never sacrifice.
  12. Good point. I know that originally it was a 99 year leased island in 1988. Perhaps with the $250 million investment in 2019 upgrading the island to the Perfect Day waterpark that it is today they assumed ownership of the property? I have seen it reported both ways - "leased" and "owned". I always thought it was still under lease but clearly that may not be the case and I am not any authority to be certain of its' true status. Perhaps others can confirm. Royal Caribbean Group (formerly Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.) as the parent company of RCCL would IMO be the likely controlling entity either way.
  13. That was when we liked it the best. Not our favorite now, but still a good time. Our recent visits haven't been as a destination of choice but more as a port of call attached to the itinerary we were on.
  14. There is some staff that is based there 24/7 as well as at Labadee. My understanding is they are primarily maintenance and site support. Both locations are also supported by each visiting ship staff, primarily food service and bartending, as well as local day staff. Many of the CocoCay local day staff live in Great Harbour Cay, which is nearby. And many of the Labadee local day staff are from Cap-Haitien. Each place has a mix of staff during ship visits. You are correct regarding the CocoCay lease which is a 99 year lease. Labadee's is currently through 2050.
  15. Agree, one of the easiest (along with Cape Liberty). But to echo, there will only be one ship there so it will be quite convenient.
  16. No, you don't have to wait to book on board, although you can. Not sure why it is not appearing on the planner if the others are, but I would keep checking as on other ships they usually all appear together, or close together, on the planner.
  17. As I just posted, CocoCay was first leased in 1988 and opened and named as such shortly after. But it became Perfect Day in 2019, as you mention. However, you are incorrect in your assertion of there only being very few stops there before the pier was built. There were hundreds of tendered stops at CocoCay prior to the pier as it was an ongoing regular itinerary port of call for a number of RCCL ships since it opened 35+ yeas ago.
  18. Lets get the information accurate. CocoCay was first leased to RCCL in 1988 and it became a private destination port of call shortly after as a regular itinerary visit. As mentioned, our first visit there was in 1992 and we had visited five or six times since as a tender port (missing one due to high seas). The pier was built in 2018, and the Perfect Day waterpark renovations were done in 2019, which is the year it was rebranded as Perfect Day. The pandemic interrupted what was expected to be the initial new development ramp up year, but it became a heavily trafficked destination since, to now include Celebrity on a regular bases. Ongoing work continued this past year. We have also been there four times since the restart. Labadee was acquired by lease in 1985, and has been an active port of call private destination since. It also was very sparsely developed initially, but has had continued development over the years. Our first visit there also was in 1992 and we have been there many times since. But it was no more or no less a destination than CocoCay. CocoCay was always enjoyable as a modestly developed deserted island beach day, with ongoing improvements up to the 2019 build up. In other words they were both active private destination ports of calls for about 35+ years, which I can confirm from multiple visits to both over the past 32 years of our cruising career.
  19. Actually RCCL's private island CocoCay has been around for quite some time. Our first visit there was in 1992, 32 years ago.
  20. I'm glad it worked out well for you! I realize the issue is now moot as a result but just wanted to add this from the RCCL terms and conditions for on board future cruise bookings. Again, I am only adding this for clarity for anyone considering booking on board: As we value our relationships with our travel partners, unless we are advised otherwise your Next Cruise booking will be attributed to the travel partner associated with your current cruise booking. However, if you wish to have your booking reflect an alternative arrangement, please inform the team at the time of booking and a form will be provided for you to sign as your authorization. While I completely agree that the question should be asked, and at times may be, it appears as though they are not required to.
  21. While, depending on category, the RCCL suites among the largest, impressive, and most diverse in design compared to most cruise lines, Allure was built prior to the recent focus with their newer ships on a suite class level specific venue more similar to Yacht Club and the Haven. Therefore the total suite experience on Allure would fall short of the others you mention IMO. MSC while having a very good suite experience with Yacht Club, have IMO some of the smallest and least impressive suites of those you mention. Clearly, comparatively, they focus on the experience and not the accommodations, so I think that would factor into the choice. NCL Haven has been doing the combination venue and suite package for some time and also features IMO very large and impressive suite offerings. Not familiar with the ship you mention so that could alter things.
  22. As long as she has a both a Captains Club and RCCL account in her name the benefits with either cruise line will equal her husbands tier and equal benefit reciprocity will apply. That is how it works with us. We also have cruised together on each cruise on each line, should that matter - but we have the same resulting point total and tier level with each and same reciprocity with each benefit level.
