  1. Never said you can't remove them. Only said the staff will know. But to me it's a moot point as I would never remove them as after 32 years of cruising, I recognize and respect the work the staff does and am happy to contribute to their income through my gratuities.
  2. Yeah that's surprising. As they are all 3rd party contracted services, there is no expense per se to the cruise line to have them available. And with the % the cruise line takes from their sales, its all a plus revenue stream. Maybe was an issue with the photography company.
  3. Maybe $60 per day in real value, $160 per day to the cruise line - LOL
  4. Well if I don't see you on board, have a great cruise! BTW Cape Liberty was the port to which I was referring regarding bringing water on board.
  5. Take it with you either way if you want to. Worst that happens is you have to leave it at the terminal. And either way, on board Guest Service will be able to assist. And again, if it is a CPAP, they will also provide an extension cord. Enjoy your cruise. BTW we are leaving tomorrow as well on Eclipse - same ship?
  6. Rather than see what happens at the terminal, I would suggest calling Celebrity special needs department and explain your situation to see whether or not you can easily bring it on board of they would have other on board options. Typically the will provide it for you.
  7. We have frequently brough water on as much as a full case of 12 oz plastic bottles as checked luggage without issue. Have never experience gallon containers, however. Don't know if that would create and issue or not. But if this is for a CPAP or other similar application, Celebrity will provide distilled water for you to use.
  8. Not always efficient at removing them - LOL. Also leaves a quick option to reinstate. But it is not an confirmed booking without a deposit. Ditto your last response as well.... They do like to keep certain group booking options open.
  9. Correct, depending on required deposit date. I was answering the OP's question as an individual booking, but that may not be the case.
  10. I'm on the side of not much real value for the money. In general I agree with @Ourusualbeach with the price point consideration, and with the comments by @Tree_skier. And maybe not even then...... IMO, you have to keep in mind that anything offered for additional purchase beyond the basic cruise fare benefits the cruise line first - and most.
  11. Unless the hold is confirmed with a deposit to the reservation, it will be dropped typically 3-5 days after the initial hold. Holds are considered as reservations "offered" and become a confirmed booking only with a deposit.
  12. I don't think that it is port dependent. Every RCCL cruise that I can recall that we have been on in the past 32 years has had a boarding picture station somewhere in the terminal, or perhaps on board. Typically in the terminal en route to boarding after check in. I cannot recall one that didn't.
  13. When I indicated that we rarely dine in the MDR, depending on the ship we also are not frequent visitors to the WJ other than the occasional breakfast or lunch. We have most of our dinners in the specialty restaurants, and breakfast and lunch at other venues when not in the WJ. With the specialty restaurants, there is a separate waitstaff and there is a separate gratuity included in restaurant fee. (Even with that, we occasionally find ourselves adding an additional amount at the end of the meal if the service was particularly good). As mentioned before, for us its simpler to leave everything in tact and add more when and if we want to. Enjoy your cruising!
  14. Regarding the seating question. The reserved seating will likely be in a designated area as with other ships. As with other ships, you are not required to sit there, but that is the area that would be reserved for you. You can sit anywhere you wish in the theater as general seating. I believe you need to make reservations for the spa.
  15. Just to answer your question, you can book multiple staterooms, but each must have the required deposit transacted by credit card at the time of booking. And to add, it cannot be charged to your current on board account and OBC cannot be used for this purpose. Each stateroom deposit is charged as a direct transaction to your credit card.
  16. We, too, rarely if ever dine in the MDR. But I am not aware of any way to apportion the gratuities. As others have said the waitstaff also spends time in other venues, primarily the WJ. Their services to you may just not be as direct but are there nonetheless. To my knowledge with gratuities Its all or nothing, and as I see it is just a part of the cost of cruising. My understanding also is that regardless of the allocation, gratuities are pooled and evenly distributed, in part because of the shared venues workload. If you remove them altogether that pool is diminished by that amount, and all of the staff who participate will be affected. And there will also be an awareness that they have been removed. You would just have to be sure that those you wish to compensate outside the MDR receive your determined amount. IMO its just easier to add additional if desired at the end to those you feel deserving and just leave the auto-gratuities in place. Again, JMO.
  17. Thanks. You and me both. The $20 days are indeed long gone. I should have cleared the cobwebs better before posting the prior rates. Still a very convenient departure port with very good facilities. Quite a change from the original terminal!
  18. Already addressed. My answer was correct as asked by the OP for the current rate at $30. The rest, although not correct to my recollection as explained, is irrelevant to the original question. It would be helpful if when quoting me you also had the full context of my subsequent responses.
  19. No I don't get anywhere near that amount. We have two cruises booked with them over the next five months and are getting none of that. And certainly not with that level of frequency. Are you sure they are all coming from Celebrity and not a travel agent(s) using the Celebrity logo to look like they are from them? Celebrity typically doesn't run that many specials or promotions to generate that many daily emails and don't typically push hard through emails for sales.
  20. Its not a matter of them doing what they want. That's not the point. It seems like you are struggling to find the reason and maybe they would at least be able to answer your question and tell you why the itinerary changed. Seems to me like a logical place to try.
  21. The RCCL ships with Wonderland are Anthem, Harmony, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum, Symphony, and Wonder. Unfortunately, not Oasis
  22. You and me both. Used to get the pictures of the ship but kind of let that go recently as well.
