  1. Not difficult at all.. Many items are included with your cruise fare (what folks like to call 'free'), i.e., WJ buffet, MDR etc., etc., while others (as in your example) incur an up-charge, which is not included in your cruise fare (or 'not free'). Does that help?
  2. Entirely two different things. Free, as defined in the Oxford dictionary means 'without cost or payment'. Anything that is 'included' onboard a cruise ship (food or otherwise) definitely incurred cost and payment (in terms of the cruise fare paid), so therefore is not free as previously defined.
  3. Nope... not 'free'. Once again, you paid for that burger many times over up front in your cruise fare. It's really not a difficult concept to grasp. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  4. I wouldn't do it at all.. The time that the cook spends preparing your 'custom order' is time that could/should be spend assisting others. Meantime those others are waiting for the cook to finish preparing your order, before he can assist them.
  5. Yep.. too bad for the poor folks waiting in line behind you. Nice attitude! ๐Ÿคจ
  6. Wrong.. A large ship is a large ship, regardless of how it compares to other large Royal ships.
  7. Yes, you are.. so everyone else (like me) can enjoy it ๐Ÿ‘
  8. Not at all, but more to the point that a lot of guests pay their up-front fares/costs (which includes a lot of onboard food), and then get really excited about their 'free' burgers onboard (which they've already paid for, of course).
  9. That's a bunch of crap.. there are so many things that are delicious on most cruise ships and lines, but it does vary by cruise ship and line. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. You sound like the kind of guest that the crew despises.. it's Burger King, so I want it like I want it! ๐Ÿคจ
  11. To answer the OP's original question, no, Royal is NOT building any more small ships ๐Ÿคจ
  12. Usually at the last second, even sometimes after you've checked in at the pier.. ๐Ÿคจ
  13. Trust me, you paid for those burgers up front (with your cruise fares). ๐Ÿ˜‰
  14. There are no 'free' burgers on any HAL cruise, or any other cruise for that matter. ๐Ÿ™‚
  15. I got the same thing when I signed in a few minutes ago, and there was no way to click out of it to go anywhere else. VERY annoying!
  16. What about the one and only smoking area outside in the Seaview Pool bar area? There are reports of issues with second hand smoke here as well. Using your same argument above, should this area be banned for smoking too? Based on your comments I will guess that your answer will be yes, which would then point to the ultimate goal for some on here to have smoking banned entirely on all ships. That will not likely happen in the foreseeable future.
  17. The smoking area literally IS the starboard side of the Seaview Pool area. It's the port side that is nonsmoking.
  18. On Koningsdam, and other similarly configured HAL ships, the designated smoking area is at the Seaview Bar area, which is deck 9 starboard side aft. Smoking is not allowed on the port side of that area, so "all the smokers on both sides of the pool" would not be accurate.
  19. Smoking is not allowed in the Lido pool area of any HAL ship, including Koningsdam.
  20. It was a different smoking world everywhere. Smoking was allowed in land based restaurants and airplanes back then too. Smoking restrictions on cruise ships have evolved over the years just as they have in all other facets of our lives.
  21. And their comment was completely relevant in the context of this thread, plain and simple. No need for a new thread..
