  1. My first ever cruise was on Pacific Sun. Silver service afternoon tea, excellent main dining experience, sadly it went downhill from there, but it was a marvellous introduction to cruising. At that time I was amazed at how large the ship was, later I cruised on MSC with 5000 passengers.
  2. So sad, cheap and cheerful and can sail from home port. Tried Carnival once, not impressed. Have two cruises booked with P&O, bet everything goes downhill fast.
  3. Used to be a free for all in the early 2000’s. No shore tour, no payment, just walk up the hill and stay as long as you wish.
  4. We used ADAthens last year, excellent location and view to Acropolis from roof top where breakfast was served. Staff excellent.
  5. Probably end up like Lifou, over loved and now have to pay to snorkel there.
  6. I can walk reasonable distances without any issues, but stairs are a different matter.
  7. I have already mentioned Ouvea in Pacific, but last year Mykonos in Greece had crystal clear water as well. Also grotto in Malta.
  8. Thanks for that info. We never buy drinks packages, no value for us. Might try and take some 0.0 beer on board on August cruise and see how we go.
  9. Really interested to hear the response, if you get one. My daughter enjoys non alcoholic beer. She also does not drink alcohol.
  10. We are on August 14 from Brisbane. No advice of itinerary change, also have family members just booked for January 2025 and Conflict Island still showing there. Interesting to see what happens.
  11. No comparison at all. I have cruised with 8 different cruise lines, P&O is definitely “special”, in a class of its own. Lol. Don’t get me wrong I will still cruise P&O, close to home, and cheap.
  12. We do live a long way from the rest of the world. Lol. Last year I did two overseas cruises, said I would never do the flights again, I am too old. But oops have booked one for next year.
  13. A mixture of cruises, the 2024 Melbourne Cup cruise, 8 days was pretty woeful as was the Fiji cruise, 10 days? The 4 night cruise to Airlie Beach was ok as there were no drinks packages on sale. We mostly cruise overseas generally on Princess but love the convenience and no flights with P&O.
  14. Might sound a bit harsh, but on our last 3 P&O cruises had to ask to have our table in dining room changed on at least one night on each cruise. couldn’t hear above the yelling and insane screeching from well lubricated fellow diners. Will continue to cruise with them, because they are cheap and we can drive to port, but the demographic is going downhill fast.
  15. P&O drinkers don’t see 15 drinks a day as a limit, they see it as a challenge.
  16. What I take for a 7 night cruise is what I took for a 54 night cruise, plus an all weather light coat. Did have to fly to London to join cruise so that limited me. Medium suitcase, carryon and shoulder handbag. Cruise was Princess so free laundry but turnaround was often 3 to 4 days as so many elites.
  17. Oops shouldn’t have spoken/written so soon. It has been raining steadily for the last 24 hours and still going. Grass is looking a little greener already. Lol
  18. Or as the guide said in Hawaii, heavenly blessings.
  19. Not very often, I have brown “grass”, what’s left after the lawn grub attack and my garden is looking very poor.
  20. I’m in Australia. What’s rain?
  21. Rarely go to MDR, Waterfront, we were in Angelo’s Italian themed restaurant on Encounter.
  22. Last P&O cruise on Gatsby night a couple at a table near us dressed to “impress”. Baggy cargo pants, sleeveless singlet top and caps worn backwards.
  23. Ovea in South Pacific. You could see ship’s anchor on bottom of ocean floor. Unfortunately it is no longer a port of call.
  24. There is a happy medium. Two men in particular, I would not wear what they were wearing to McDonalds. Lol
