  1. That works for me or is she a runaway bride?
  2. On the Regal a few years ago saw a young lass with no shoes in the dining room. No staff interested, even though I’m sure it would have been a wph&s issue.
  3. A few years ago I watched in amazement as a man at my table ordered lobster, then another etc. Ended up having SEVEN lobsters. Seriously!
  4. Don’t think they were too worried about only one lobster. I’m sure they had other things to worry about.
  5. Know how you feel, did. Barcelona to Athens in April. So port intensive, but such wonderful ports. I had to come home for a holiday. Lol Cruised to Fiji in May, lots of sea days, so different. Thank you for sharing, brings the memories back.
  6. Noticed in May there also seems to be a small gift shop to the left as you enter. No idea how to access as security very careful not to allow anyone in who is not in their boarding time.
  7. Everyone pays for drinks, most have packages but no free drinks anymore.
  8. As DFAT says if you can’t afford travel insurance you can’t afford to travel. I thought P&O required travel insurance for all cruisers, particularly with regards to covid and medical evacuation.
  9. In May sports on tv in casino, not sure if any where else as I was not interested. Still have the dreaded shower curtains. Didn’t try Rudis but it looked good.
  10. Good one, he will fit right in. Lol
  11. Formal night on Pacific Encounter last month. Some dressed formally, others nicely dressed, but at dragon Lady a couple was dressed in sloppy singlets and baggy shorts and thongs, while one girl had short, short ragged shorts with a bikini top. Staff not interested.
  12. 54 night cruise, 2 nights pre cruise. Had to fly from Australia so only 23 kg allowed. Worked just fine.
  13. I live in Australia, I have been on cruises that started in US, South America, Mediterranean, UK, Northern Europe et al. You just need to get there. August cruise from New York includes 30 hours of flying time with a 10 hour stopover. Ugh.
  14. In April on Enchanted steward left. 2 emery boards, 2 eye masks, and 1 tube of lotion on bathroom bench. Only 1 of us was Elite so no idea why the 2 items. It was like why bother.
  15. Colosseum, there is a lift/elevator to reach the top level, it’s a bit late to let you know but others may benefit. Good thinking getting a car, getting luggage to train, off train, then to ship, all too hard. Enjoy last day in Rome, don’t forget Trevi fountain, throw some coins in to ensure you come back.
  16. Sensor lights for wardrobe area outside bathroom are on Enchanted.
  17. Another vote for the sensors. No need for my torch now, always an issue with remembering to take batteries out before flying. Lol. Just wish the light would stay on when I am accessing the safe.
  18. My problem with the pools is most only have a ladder to exit pool. I have had a knee reconstruction and find this difficult. Some of the older ships had steps to enter and exit. The old Sea Princess, Star Princess etc. Oh well I can get into the hot tubs (lukewarm tubs) if they are not filled with kids. Lol
  19. In April, Mediterranean cruise, wifi was abysmal. So frustrating, I nearly had a temper tantrum. Not a good look for a 72 year old. Internet staff pretty much useless, a couple of them were dancers from the show.
  20. We were unable to land at Easter Island, but I do have a stamp in my passport from Chile. Apparently they processed passports before they knew we couldn’t get ashore.
  21. Another time Sea Princess (again), had to change leisurely scenic cruising to fast forward scenic cruising on a cruise from New Guinea back to North Queensland. A very ill passenger had to medivaced and we had to go full speed ahead to get the ship in range of the rescue helicopter. Again brilliant work by the crew assisting with the evacuation. The helicopter crew had a huge ovation as they left, but again someone asked me if they would get credit because they missed the scenic cruising. My reply was unprintable.
  22. And as someone mentioned earlier, change for toilets. Just back from a Med cruise, and yes southern European countries will take cards, but small restaurants like cash, as do street vendors and small purchases in souvenir shops.
  23. In 2019 Sea Princess performed a rescue in the Caribbean when a small ship was sinking with crew in the water. It was in the middle of the night with rough seas and the rescue boat did an amazing job to rescue the sailors. The next morning I heard two passengers complaining that we would be late into Curaçao and their excursions were cancelled. I guess they thought their excursion was more important than those lives that were saved.
  24. In foreign countries if you tip using US$ the guides, drivers, have to exchange it at a bank and pay a fee for doing so. Much easier to get some local currency from your bank before you go.
