Last year on the Panorama they opened up one of those folding walls between the steakhouse and piano bar and let us listen to Geoffrey Mung who was playing there. He was outstanding! He plays classical covers of vintage rock songs along with a lot of original content. Hands down my favorite performer that I have seen on any ship.
Last March on the Panorama we did self-disembark so we could get off early and we still did not get off until almost 10:00. We got into port on time, but there was some delay with the ship being cleared by customs. It was incredibly annoying. I have no idea what time everyone else got off. but there were a whole lot of people still on the ship when we left.
Thanks for the balanced review! It's nice to hear that your waits for anytime dining were pretty short. Did you ever go later than 5:30, and if so, what was your wait time then?
Hi all! My husband Steve and I just booked this cruise. It will be our first time leaving from New York, so we are excited about that. Now to find a hotel for the night before...
I totally agree! We did this same cruise in March and October, and on both cruises those last sea days were cold and windy. We were not prepared at all for that.
Does anyone know which ones are close-ish to the cruise ship dock? I want to make sure we have plenty of time to spend there, including travel time to get there and back. I believe we dock at the pier in the downtown area.
Thanks for the review! It's so nice to read something positive about the Magic. We are sailing on it for the first time in November and really looking forward to it. We have a similar itinerary, although we are going to St. Thomas instead of St. Kitts, which is disappointing.
What was your favorite dish at Cucina? We've only done the steakhouse so far, so we are going to try Cucina this time.
I always thought they didn't offer tortilla chips on the salsa bar because they would go through WAY more salsa than they do now, with people just putting small amounts on their burritos.
I love their breakfast burritos made to order. They will also make you fried or scrambled eggs over where the arepas are (or at least they did on the Panorama)!
I'm sure that people would be taking all the k-cups home as souvenirs, much like people take the pens, paper, towel animals, table decorations, etc. It's not cost effective for Carnival.
