  1. Okay, choice A: Grand Suite Wonder vs choice B: Junior Suite Icon. For us, the itinerary would drive the choice, so A.
  2. Very sad if FoS no longer has sauna/steam, we’re on her for New Years. Too bad.
  3. A boombox in windjammer or pool area (both of which I disagree with) is just another thing Royal is now tolerating that they didn’t in the past. However, I put it in the same class as people who dress casually in the MDR. Unfortunately, unless it hurts Royals bottom line, it’s not likely to change. Maybe Royal’s next ship could be Carnival of the Seas?
  4. Victim of Covid, same as fresh flowers.
  5. I look at tipping threads as click bait. Everyone has their own opinion. Do what you want and what fits your individual situation.
  6. You had me at chocolate ravioli, I'm gonna have to try that!
  7. You prefer the sides at Giovanni’s? Which ones?
  8. Okay, we’re on FoS for a New Year’s cruise in a few months. I’m generally a creature of habit and enjoy my fillet at Chops. I’m interested in trying some new things, so I thought about soliciting others on what they real like, so I can narrow down my choices. So, what is your favourite meal in a specialty restaurant (which one) and what is so good about this choice? Thanks in advance!
  9. Impressive! What was your method? Primarily watching what you eat? Well done!
  10. We had the same issue when we were on Escape. It was very disappointing. Good luck.
  11. I was the same, I got certified 11 years ago. Like you it was something I wanted to do since I was a kid. I’m glad you have your daughter to do this with, it makes a difference. My wife and son weren’t interested. So, it isn’t something that I kept up. We have an upcoming large family cruise this New Year’s. Maybe i can see me if some of my nieces or nephews would like to get certified. You will both have a great time!
  12. Thanks, that’s sad. So, then is the only solution to reef or scrap her?
  13. Still believe I would have been SOL without Air2Sea. I believe that booking with them puts to onus on them to make things right in the event things go wrong.
  14. I guess this is all a case of YMMV. I’ve spoken with people on cruises whose luggage was delayed and they didn’t receive it at all for the cruise. I had a concierge on Celebrity who kept us abreast of locating my luggage and getting it to me. We departed Rome and I got my luggage in Istanbul. While Celebrity didn’t physically move the luggage, they certainly handled the coordination to get it to me. I’m grateful I got it and that was my reality check.
  15. RCL and Celebrity give you your choice. We like booking flights with the cruise if we’re flying in directly to take the cruise. A few years ago, we flew into Rome for a Celebrity cruise. My luggage was late. If we hadn’t booked Air2Sea for the flight, I’d have been SOL. As it was, Celebrity got my bag to me a few days (12 day cruise). They comp’d me for any clothes I wanted in their shops and provided free tux rentals. If we fly in a few days early, then it’s not an issue. Best wishes.
  16. The one thing is that there is an undeniable change in the weather, especially over the past 60 years. It can be debated what the cause of this is, but it’s impossible to argue that there has been no change.
  17. I’m sure you’ll both have a great time! Best wishes.
  18. Thanks for the optimism, maybe we’ll try again.
  19. We do disagree. The “minimum” you refer to is that of a tour, not the requirements of the mosque. Best wishes.
  20. We made the grave mistake of listening to them that there were delays and they’d be sending soon. By the time we got around to complaining, it was past the date for filing a complaint. Lesson learned.
  21. We have different perspectives. If some tours have skirted dress requirements for temples, mosques, and churches, this doesn’t make it not disrespectful. In the case of Istanbul and the Blue Mosque, I am Muslim and have prayed in these mosques. There is one dress requirement for entering any mosque in the world, there is no minimum requirement for visitors. All are welcome, however, there is a dress requirement. We can agree to disagree on this.
