How far out can you order this? I am interested in this as well as I did this with DD but this cruise I am with my DH.

I purchased my own OBC and intend to use that to pay for my gratuities. Will this work??

I booked with a Canadian TA and since he had a group booking was able to get a reasonable price in Canadian $$. Looking at the same room on the NCL website the room is substantially higher (about $400.00) in US$. Am going to take full advantage of buying OBC and using it for the daily gratuties and possibly an excursion or two. We have the drink package as well as the 3 meal dining package with our booking plus double points.

Given that the OP just booked, the exchange rate will be quite high for OBC.
Yes but not as high as at their financial institution. We did have a credit card attached to our room and I chose to have them charge through my financial institution rather than their exchange. I think the rate was pretty decent but we didn't need to find out!

You can check what the OBC rate would be by signing into your personalizer and "fake" purchase some OBC. When we booked our cruise the rate was 1.20 so we purchased enough to OBC to cover all of our excursions and on board purchases. If you don't use it all, they will forward you a USD cheque in the mail. We found this beneficial due to the crazy exchange rate.

Was really hoping this review would be done before we left on our cruise. WinksCruises, where are you? Certainly hope all is well health wise!

Thank you, I think this will be what I miss most from our last Celebrity cruise! Had the escargot every night as my appetizer!

WinksCruises, was escargot served any night?

Let me just say that one person's cool is much different from another person's idea of cool. We are experiencing -20C so give me 10C and I will be in shorts! I see from the long range forecast that this coming weekend in SF is supposed to be 18-22C, that my friends is summer!! Will let you know how we make out, landing on Friday!!

Hi Snow Bunny. It is $10 to clean the suit. I have heard it isn't "real" dry cleaning but DH's suit always looks great!
Cheers, Denise

Thank you very much!

Many thanks, hoping that DH does not get his suit dirty but it is winter here and the cuffs might get soiled.
-
Any chance you can check what the cost is to dry clean a suit? We have a funeral next weekend and not enough time to get DH's suit cleaner before we leave. Thanks in advance!!

Looking forward to checking out the dancing on the Grand in just over 2 weeks. On our only other Princess cruise, Diamond out of Sydney, the staff member who taught the dancing came in one night to load up his dance music. We had talked to him and he was originally from our home city in Canada and he was happy to provide us with something new to dance to.

I saw a post about a week or so ago with the alcohol that is available by the bottle but cannot track it down now. Just wondering what the price is for scotch and what is the gratuity amount that is charged?? As well, what does the breakfast menu look like?
Many thanks for any and all replies! Looking forward to our Grand Princess cruise!

Thanks, we did have issues on the Diamond as it sort of hung funny. Bought some table cloth weights to bring!

Can you tell me if the shower curtain is clingy??

Glad we booked our Alaska cruise at 1.35! Not sure I could stomach a 1.45 rate. DH and I are thinking other than our 2017 Alaska cruise that we might need to find an alternative vacation method for a bit!!

I would love more insight as to the activities on the ship! Also would love to know what you did is each port as we have never been to this side of Mexico!

It was on the second page of that patter. A direct link to page 2 is here.
It's on the lower right.
Thanks, now I see it. Not sure we would go for this as I prefer a broth fondue.

This one shows fondue being available on deck 14aft (back of the buffet). I didn't know they had fondue on the Grand Princess! Is this new? I'm very excited, as we'll be sailing the Grand next New Year's.
Which day did you find fondue? I don't see it on the page you posted.

is it CHEAPER to pre pay gratuities?

Yes, this is very true. I booked my next cruise through my TA who had a group. As a result I have the lower DSC and a very low exchange rate. In stead of using the OBC I bought, I will prepay so as to not have the increased fee tacked on when we cruise.
