Navigator's departure a few minutes ago:
*****************************************************************************************
And I just realized I never posted a pic of Nav's afternoon 180* turn a few weeks ago, so here it is:
-
Is that the Elissa at the end of Pier 22?
-
Royal Caribbean is in an awkward situation. If Navigator stays, passengers watching the other ships leave may not be happy, and if Navigator departs, passengers who disembarked because they were told the cruise was cancelled probably won't be very happy.
-
Navigator is leaving, but I can't get the time lapse software to work.
Bye Navigator!
-
Apparently the new Cruise Cam is manned. Not sure I like that. Can't see Navigator after Magic moves out of the way anymore.
Also, I can't make a good time lapse with a camera that's moving around and zoomed into the balconies. Oh well, my time lapse software is throwing a fit anyway.
-
Looks like the Harbor House got a new Cruise Cam. I wonder if this new camera works better at night.
Since Navigator will have to turn this afternoon, I will try to make a time lapse. :)

None of the streaming cams are working for me, so I won't be able to make a time-lapse. Sorry y'all.
-
This reminds me of the time that Voyager, Conquest, and Ecstasy all came in on the same day (a few days late) because the fog was severe through the weekend. Ecstasy docked at a cargo terminal if I remember right.
-
On the bright side, those who booked the short cruise are getting a longer cruise than expected. Not good for those who have flights, though.... or those boarding today.
-
I completely forgot about Navigator's arrival on Tuesday!
Sorry everyone!!! :o
Edit to add: If I remember on Sunday, I will try to make a time lapse.
-
Sounds like good news.
As far as the transportation issue to the port for those flying in, I think it would be a good idea for Royal Caribbean and Carnival to team up and help fund a commuter rail from Houston. Of course, transit agencies would have to fund the majority of it from taxes, and it would have to be used for more than just cruise passengers to get decent revenue from fares (think along the lines of daily commuters).

I feel kind of stupid right now... I was talking about Galveston earlier today on a different forum (not a cruise forum), but didn't think to come over here or check the webcams.
-
Even better, we are 20 blocks to the port:rolleyes:
Any chance you can you see the ships from where you live?
-
She was already turned by the time the camera panned towards her.
-
This is actually my first time watching the ships arrive since Navigator's arrival, and only because I'm having trouble sleeping.
Here are a few screen shots:
-
Been watching Navigator this morning on the Emerald Cam.
-
Hi everyone! Been busy with school the past two weekends, but am free to watch the ships today.
Magic is leaving now...
-
Considering changing my username to "People Are Strange" or "Dylan Is Strange" in the future.
Input and complaints about my idea are welcome.

All of the Galveston streaming cams are giving me problems right now even though they weren't this morning. I guess bandwidth is stretched thin right now.
-
Ships are almost always several hours late departing after arriving from another country. I guess it's all the extra security.
-
The streaming Emerald Cam sucks. Whenever it freezes, it doesn't resume until you refresh it. The nearly identical ABC 13 Cam never froze.
I guess a couple of good things are the picture quality is better, and I assume the camera operator follows ships more frequently (like right now) since that is the main reason people watch this webcam. But I still can't watch it as a video.
-
This is from the Emerald Cam a few minutes ago. When I first went to that cam, it was pointed towards the ferry landings/water tower, and my plan was to save an image of Navigator coming in. I forgot, and when I went back to close the tab, it was pointed towards the cruise ship terminals. I guess it is set up like the ABC 13 cam that isn't working this morning.
Looks like it's time to find a new image hosting site...again...

Good news: Headed to Galveston tomorrow. :D
I may or may not watch the ships depart. My dad is a beach person, and we will only be there two days (one night).
