There goes Mariner! It has been a while since I've been on CC or watched her depart on webcam.
Anyone else having trouble with the streaming video?
-
RCI is not the one that is behind Mariner going to China. The ship is on a full charter for the next two years in China.
What???

Latest word is that they won't be towing them to Galveston, but to Progresso. They will fly them home from there. I guess Galveston was too far and would take too long and they wanted the passengers off asap. Apparently even Progresso will take until Wednesday to reach.
Wednesday???

Missed the departures today but thought I would check in since I haven't in a while. Not exactly what I expected to read. :( Not good for Galveston. Hopefully everyone on board Triumph is able to get off the ship soon (If they haven't already- I haven't read much about what's going on yet).

Mariner is leaving before Magic today. Bye Mariner!

If y'all missed today's great departures, here are some pics:

Wow, Mariner is pulling into the Harbor Cam as Magic is turning! I should have made a time lapse today!!! :(
-
Could someone please tell me where you go to watch Mariner arrive/depart. It used to be at Pier 28 on Galveston cams, but that is no longer available.
Sally
They got rid of it. :( It got off-center and had a poor quality image, and I guess others like me quit watching it except to see if she was in port.
In addition to the Magic Cam that golfpccc mentioned, there's also the ABC 13 cam. But right now the lighting seems to be messed up.

Also that cam is movable so it isn't always pointed towards the port like it is right now.
LOL, todays Mariner watching is brought to you by the strand cam and ..... the Carnival Cam. :D They need to dock that way more often. That ship on the Strand Cam with the red and blue funnel is Mariner? I never realized that.

Anyone see anything about what time they are expected to turn these ships around?
Ships are typically in port 8 to 10 hours, so I'd say they'll depart between 10pm and 1am tomorrow (Magic docked at 2 and Crown docked at 3). If they're fast, maybe a little earlier. They both already turned.
-
If y'all missed the ships arrive, y'all missed some GREAT arrivals! Disney Magic turned a little closer to the cam than usual, and Crown Princess turned right in front of the Cruise Cam.
But no worries if you missed it... I made a time lapse. :D Expect me to post it on Youtube within the next few days.

Looks like Magic is going to turn now depite how late she is.
-
Magic is finally on the move according to VesselFinder.com. She should be entering the harbor soon.
Crown Princess is still sitting in the Gulf.
-
Going to attempt to make a time lapse today. I want to see what it looks like when a ship comes in through the fog. Also, since the ships aren't in port yet, I'm thinking they're going to turn this afternoon instead (I prefer to see the ships turn in the afternoon).
-
Uh oh. Heavy fog this morning. Looks like both ships are going to be late.
Crown Princess and Disney Magic are the ships in port today.

Mariner's departing right on time. I missed Magic's departure, so she must've departed on time as well.

When we were on the Mariner in early Dec. Capt Fleming told us the pilot had him turn earlier and back the last mile down the channel to the pier. Said he really like it that way. I watched us turn when we came in and he turned the ship right around the Marina.
No, Mariner didn't turn in the harbor at all this morning. She was already in reverse when she entered the harbor and passed the turning basin / marina.

Dylan, Webshots closed! It's now something called SMILE that does everything but make me :). This happened the beginning of October.:(
I wouldn't have known about it except someone posted a thread on the RCCL forum which I got lucky enough to see before it got moved to the Photo and Camera Discussion forum. Here's a link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1716775
A little late replying to this, but that sucks. They're getting rid of the number one reason most people used their site for, as well as many pics on forums that came from Webshots. I didn't get a warning about them closing either. At least everything I had on there is on my hard drive.

Mariner didn't turn in the turning basin this morning. :( She backed in all the way from the gulf. I hope this isn't the new normal!

The Crown Princess has made it in.

Well, I shouldn't be surprised, with the trend of Royal's presence in Galveston over the years. We had Splendour part-time in addition to Rhapsody full-time, then we lost Splendour, then we lost full-time Rhapsody to part-time Voyager. I hope this is just another rumor that turns out to be false.
