According to Marine Traffic, Navigator and Magic are both right at the Harbor's entrance. Navigator is much later than usual for ships arriving in Galveston for the first time in a season (or ever).
-
So are there any renderings of what Navigator is supposed to look like after the new deck 12 staterooms are added? I'm worried it's going to look ugly.
-
The NASCAR season just ended, so I've been thinking about this winter. I just checked the schedule, and Navigator's arrival is next Sunday. Perfect timing!
My original plan last year was to start a new thread before this season starts to keep from approaching the thread post limit, but this thread hasn't even reached 1/5 of the 5,000 post limit, so I will keep this thread going.

There goes Carnival Magic. Glad that this time next year, we will be able to watch a Royal Caribbean ship on our webcam.

I really don't like how cruisers are directed onto Harborside Drive. Not only does it bypass anything interesting and give people a bland image of Galveston, but the extra traffic means a wider street that acts as a buffer between the Strand and the harbor.

So Princess is sailing out of Bayport again in the winter of 2014/2015? I thought the reason they were sailing out of Bayport this upcoming winter is because Disney has a Sat-Sat schedule this winter and there isn't room for Princess on the weekends.

Thanks for the screen shot pspercy. I missed her arrival.

According to Marine Traffic, The Triumph is returning tomorrow (the 11th) at around 9am. Always give or take a few hours, though. Triumph departs on Thursday for the first time since this mess.
If I remember correctly, one of my former classmates said she will be cruising on Triumph sometime this month.
-
Does anyone know when the Triumph will return to Galveston? I know her first sailing is on June 13th, but I'm wondering if she will return a day or two early.
-
I feel dumb right about now. I added my fairly new Yahoo email account on my signature the other day, but just realized I mixed up my email address with the username I use on other (non-cruise related) forums. :o

I know most of y'all have probably already seen this thread, but here is some great news in case y'all haven't!!!!! :D

Thanks for finally returning to summer sailings out of Galveston, Royal!

Yes for those that have been on his threads plural
We have watched him grow up!!!!
You've watched me grow up through text?
Texas teen, is your first cruise in sight yet? Or are you still in dry dock ;)?Still on land. :(
-
I wish our "of the Seas" ship would still turn by the Pelican Island causeway instead of on the other side of the oil rig museum that's hard to see through. I understand why they turn in the mornings, but I don't understand why they changed turning basins. Oh well...

SSB, You're welcome!

I just finished my time lapse:
Not as interesting as my other time lapses IMO, but here y'all go.

Carnival Magic departing for a regular 7-night R-T cruise:
And here is Mariner of the Seas on her final departure. :(
I'll post a link to the time lapse when I'm done editing it and posting it on You Tube sometime this week.
-
Here are a few screen shots of both ships arriving:
The time lapse isn't ready yet. I was worried about how Mariner's departure came out since the streaming cruise cam kept freezing, but it isn't too bad.
Departures coming up...
-
Get your first cruise worked out yet with your mom or dad?
No, not yet.
_____________
Going to edit the timelapse and post it online next week. Good night y'all.

Goodbye Mariner!
-
I have to go home after 10 tonight. If she's not leaving by then, I won't be able to record her departure.
-
Looks like the crane that was loading stuff onto and taking stuff away from Mariner is gone.
EDIT: My timelapse software is countinuously running on my laptop (I'm on my dad's right now), and I'm clearing out the useless frames it's capturing every hour or so.
-
Getting ready to start my time lapse software for Magic. After I turn her departure into a video, I will erase the frames of her departure and start the time lapse again, erasing frames and starting over every hour or so until Mariner departs.
-
Mariner isn't leaving until 10:00 tonight...they are loading a bunch of construction stuff for "Asianizing" the ship.
Thanks for the heads up.
-
Morning everyone. I'm up to watch Mariner's final arrival in Galveston. She heads towards Europe (and then on to Asia) today.
-
Watching the webcams this afternoon. Streaming cameras aren't working well, so no time lapse today.
EDIT: Bye Mariner!
