Here’s my math on it - Princess plus is $60/day/pp above standard. Assuming $16/day/pp for crew appreciation and $7.50/day/pp for 1 device medallion net (with platinum/elite discount) I’m at $23.50/day/pp without any beverage charges. Would I spend $36.50/day/pp (including the 18% service fee) on a combination of specialty coffees, soda, bottled waters, beer, wine and/or mixed drinks. Most likely. Even on a port day 1 coffee in the morning, a soda or beer after coming back from shore and 2-3 drinks before/during/after dinner and I probably would spend more than just buying Princess plus upfront. Each to their own, but I really feel it is an excellent value and makes the vacation much more seamless and hassle free.

I agree with you, 02/05 will be our 50th cruise on Princess, &  when Princess reduced the price on the plan we jumped on & that is the only way we go anymore, our cruise on March 26 has the plan giving drinks up to $15, I presume the drinks are going up.

It was in our case. They told our TA it had to be a new booking rather than a refare of an existing booking. That was pretty much the bottom line. So, if you don't mind cancelling and then rebooking an existing cruise, seems doable as @ChangeOrdermentioned earlier.

For rebooking you have to pay the present price which for me is not worth it. Princess always gives active ^ reiired the same benefits.

We haven't cruised with Princess since 2010. What does Princess do for consecutive cruisers (B2B) on TAD? Consecutive cruisers lunch, access to the cabins  after the TAD process?

lunch as usual, then everyone must leave the ship but on exiting  you  go to the side door not thru the long lines, you can leave all your luggage.

It’s kind of surprising, isn’t it?! Not only is Crooner’s gone but they really have done away with the bars. I enjoy live music and being at the nighttime venues. I don’t usually go to the outside bar at night so it’s sure doesn’t leave many choices. And in all my Regal sailings I have never really seen anyone go to the Bellini bar! Unless you are gambling or don’t mind smoke, who is hanging around the casino bar?!

Your missing the nicest, the club 6 is the jazz club where we hang out, godd music & drinks, the wheelhouse is in front of the crown grill. What`s missing is Crooners that is a shame & hope it returns.

I always cruise on deck 8 & the views vary, I suggest you go to a slightly lower cabin # as the life boats aropx there

Due to the necessary precautions needed to minimize contamination there are no daily sudoku on Sky Princess. I asked at Internet cafe since sometime sudoku was in that area on ships without library. The guy printed several sudokus for me. I did not ask about anything else, but you always can ask CS.

Not only nolibrary, no crooners, & no explorer, just a jazz band from 830 to 1130. my new bokings are on the Regal & Caribbean Princess.

If you used an FCD to book your cruise, you should be able to see the onboard credit on the Cruise Personalizer. Here are the amounts you will get when using an FCD: "Cruises or Cruisetours 3-6 days: $15pp for inside/oceanview and $25pp balcony/suite; 7-10 days: $25pp for inside/oceanview and $50pp balcony/suite; 11-16 Days: $75pp for inside/oceanview and $100pp balcony/suite; 17-44 Days: $125pp for inside/oceanview and $150pp balcony/suite."

    thx,

Cruiser now aboard the Sky says their 'formal nights' are now called 'Dress to Impress" and there are people wearing shorts and 'tees' on this night. Is this accurate or only aboard that ship?

We were on the Sky last month & the only person we saw with shorts on formal night was turned away.  we did not see as many tuxedo`s but everyone was well dressed.

Don’t know why some pictures are upside down- sorry about that!
    other random info:

We had one blue Princess tote in the closet.
We asked our steward for paper Patters and have been receiving them each evening.

Temperature on board has been cool in most venues - very chilly in Princess Live in particular.

    Staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

    Decor lovely all around.

Lots of nice seating areas, especially around piazza - but room for dancing in the center.

Amalfi and Capri dining rooms are open; Santorini not available.

We reserved table for 2 at same time each night and have been at same table both nights so far.

Had my favorite triangle hash browns and muesli at breakfast in the buffet (along with made to order omelets).

We received a random gift of room spray, loofahs and nail files (we are Platinum not Elite). And commemorative inaugural pins.

We were booked on the now cancelled TA on Enchanted Princess.

If princess offered cruises that went to Princess Cays and stayed at sea in that area for 3-5 days with you allowed days off at the beach daily, 5-7 day cruises leaving FLL, a sea day or 2.

How many would book that till ports open up again?

Princess Cays has been open to Day trips for crew onboard during this I heard.

We haven’t done Caribbean cruises for years, not huge beach people but would book this to start and get cruising going again.

It meets the ‘foreign stop’ and wouldn’t be exposing lots of ports to passengers Etc.

Princess has been offering short day cruises already to that private Island already.

As we are all one big community, we collectively thought it would be a great idea to start a thread on the cruise line forums so our members can have a place to socialize during these times of social distancing or "stay in Place' that we are all doing.

Cruise Critic is indeed a community and now is the time that we need to be able to socialize and show support for one another.

Please let's show respect and kindness to each other and please let's keep political comments off of this no matter where we live in this world. Everyone is frustrated and stressed but I know personally that it would be wonderful to know how everyone is doing on these boards that I have talked to, met or simply read your post over these 17 years that I have been a member.

Warm regards to every member on this board!

Well said,  we were on the last cruise on the Sky which landed in Fll 03/14 & had a great time, no one was sick & when they informed guests scheduled to stay on they were not happy. We are scheduled to cruise in Dec. on the Enchantment with at least 4 or possibly more cruisers. We have to think positive &  keep away at least 6 ft from everyone maybe we ca beat it.

yes, in fact we just booked 3 cabins & maybe a 4th for a Dec, cruise. we were on the Sky 03/07 cruise & had a wonderful time, no one was sick. Cruisers who were booked to stay on had to leave & were sorry to go. The staff were cleaning all the time & everyone were being reminded of washing our hands. Hands off to the staff. we tipped big as we left as the staff did not know their future. Lets pray for them.

Looking to book a 16 night Sky Princess cruise over Christmas/New Year.

What dining room do any time diners eat in?

Are all inside cabins the same size.  If not which floor or area or the bigger ones.

  14. Just off the Regal which wsas our 43rd Princess cruise.  Overt the last few years Princess has been eliminating many of our favorite venues, such as great drinks for happy hr for elite guests where we were able to order very good cocktails that went from 299 to $5 which was no problem then went to6.99 but changed the menu to a selection totally different & now using a  lot of their own brands which are not worth the purchase. We don`t bother even going to that event but to Crooners & always ordered our favorite Chairman at regular price & now after all these years even at regular priced they change the ingredients with their own brand of gin & give it a fancy  French name.  I give up, Princess does not want guests who appreciate a premium brand cocktail, & know when your adding your own cheap brand of liquor. It’s nothing new & we’ve received it since we reached the Loyalty credit levels many years ago which as ‘sknight’ posted is refundable.

However haven’t seen it promoted anywhere on the Princess site & if you’re eligible should have automatically received it. The onboard Captain’s Circle rep issues the credit & sends a card to our cabin at embarkation. It wasn’t displayed as a credit prior to sailing but have read posts that it’s now viewable in our Cruise Personalizer about 5 days before sailing.

You are right, here I thought I received an extra $50 but you have explained where it comes from & not to expect another $50. This week will be our 40th on Princess & still have not been invited to Captains party.

Even if asked to show your cruise card when first arriving--which only happens when the lounge is in a shared venue that non-P/E/S pax can wander through (as on Island Princess where it is in a corner of Explorer's Lounge)--I'm sure just one person in the group flashing a platinum or black card is more than adequate. But extremely unlikely to be necessary at all. Though I would still make sure that someone with said card is the one that pays, at least the first time you show up; on subsequent visits you should be recognized and not questioned at all.

As long as the plat/elite member pays for the drinks anyone else can be there.

  17. If you want local Quebecois fare, I'll add Aux Anciens Canadiens to the above list (none of which are very far from the port - though if you mean to walk from the ship they're all in Upper Town except for Lapin, though a cab should be under $15 to any of them). Personally I find AAC a wee bit tacky from the whole 'we have converted Ye Olde Houses into Ye Olde Timey Restaurant and make all of our wait staff dress in Ye Olde Outfittes' perspective - but the food is unequivocally Quebecois and most folks find it charming rather than cheesey from the reviews. Unless you're a serious castle-spotting type with many European visits under your belt, you're more likely to agree with the majority rather than me on the aesthetic;-)

While there is plenty of good fish and seafood available, I would avoid any specialist seafood resto like the plague in Quebec City - you will have more than enough ports on any cruise out of QC where the ONLY really good food options are seafood-oriented, whereas the plethora of excellent 'country French' stuff available in Quebec may be your only opportunity to eat that sort of stuff unless you are also visiting other Quebec provincial ports. Plus, you're Floridian - you can find decent seafood at home no problem!

Thank you for the reply, your suggestions are a big help which we will follow.
