We are flying to Quebec City 10/26 to board a cruise on the Royal Princeess, a party of 4, can you recommend a restaurant close to the pier with good local specialties or a seafood restaurant?.

Is the Sky a new ship or a refurbished one?.

Sadly the buy one get one for an additional $1 is gone. But they do have the Buy Two, Get Two deal(?) at every bar.

Please elaborate, do you mean if I buy 2 drinks I receive 2 free What lounge & tome have this deal.

If your ship has the $25 surcharge it is the new menu. If it has the $29 surcharge it is the old menu. Not all ships have the new menu. The Royal had the old in February. I don't know what the Star has.

The old menu is sorely missed. The new menu had me sick all night.

They may be doing me a favor, I was drinking at happy hr. & then going to Elite lounge for my Chairmans. Now both are gone & so am I. My kidneys are happier. What else is next, oh yeah, preferred boarding gone except just prior to checking in.

Am just about to finish the Regal Princess TA from Ft Lauderdale to Copenhagen. Cruise itself has been nice, with decent weather.

 

What is totally unacceptable has been the TV and Internet service aboard ship. It was fine for the first day or two with the internet about as fast as I've ever seen it. Then the problems started with slow connections and spotty service. We had many days where it would not connect at all, even the last few days when we were docked in port.

 

Even worse was my in cabin TV. This would not work at all for basically the entire cruise. The only thing that would work is Live TV, which amounts to 3 news channels and a sports channel with mostly soccer. Any recorded content (Movie/ TV onboard shows) would start, play for 30 seconds then stop with a message that "content was unavailable" This included the daily Wake show and ALL recorded shows movies etc. I called probably 1/2 dozen times with the only answer "we are aware there are problems" I even came back to the cabin one day and the screen on the telephone said "searching for connection"

 

Totally unacceptable for any cruise let alone a TA where 8 or our first 9 days were sea days. I've been on 60 Princess cruises and have never encountered such a wide spread mess. My guess it is all related to the Ocean Medallion upgrade mess.

The Regal is our favorite ship & have only compliments on both the Internet since they made the changes the TV has always been great with all the new movies shown onboard..

Anyone have experience arriving in Quebec needing transportation for 4 to the port. Need advice on best way to travel to the port #22. Price is no object.

Yep, you have to really watch the prices. I was able to get mine re-fared twice before I paid for them about 4 months prior to sail date. They never went down once it got to that point. It really varies depending on your route.

I booked my flight for Oct. 26 from PBI to Quebec, my daughter booked from FLL. Is there a way to check flights on EZ air without having to go into my booking as I`m afraid to lose what I have now.

You can forget priority, the same as bogo & $5 drinks at happy hr., its all gone. There is only one line going into the terminal at FLL, priority doesn`t begin until you get to the line to process your entrée. Wonder whagt else they will take away, might as well look for other options.

There is only one HOHO company and depending where your ship is docked, the bus may be picked up at stops 3,4, or 5. Here is the link:

Is there only one bus? In Sicily that was the case & what a mess as the bus was always full & very hard to get on.

I think the waits are a combination of all of the above.

If one walks up at prime time, and they sit everyone all at once, then the waitstaff and the kitchen will both be backed up.

 

I have to say, though, that our worse experience with dining was on the Ruby.

Last night of a 'shorty'.

 

Sat us at one of the four-tops (you know, with the little 1/2 inch gap so that it can also be set as a two-top) with another couple already dining. Several better free-standing two tops nearby.

They sat empty.

You know what, I looked at my husband, looked over at those tables, and we just moved over!

Nobody was ever seated at those two-top tables, and it was getting pretty late by the time we left the MDR.

 

I think that many, many, people here might agree that Princess really needs to get their act together with the Anytime Dining.

Its the same at home as the ship, even with reservations, sometimes the table is not available & you go to the bar 7 have a cocktail.

I wish they would serve me that fast. It seems that the fastest they go in about 1 1/2 hours even if you request a quick meal.

We wind up sitting there waiting for food most of the time.

If you need a quick meal you need to go to the buffet.

Oh well. Their ship, their rules.

I've seen the same thing in restaurants. There are empty tables, but they "force" me to wait.

There may be open tables but they need the personnel to serve them.

Thanks again for all your replies. It’s taken us many years to get to elite, so it is nice to get a little something in return. The mini bar set up is great and early tendering will help on a cruise where there are quite a few tender ports.

Don`t get too excited, Princess has been taking away our perks, such as priority boarding & elite/platinum happy hour with lower prices, well that`s gone & replaced with horrible drinks for a higher price. Elite is no big deal anymore.

Think yourself lucky you're not in the UK 😁 My 'special offer' rate for this cruise is £724 for a Balcony (approx $963 !!) I think I'll pass...............

Don`t be put out, that rate is only available to a select audience. We can`t get it either & we have been on 37 Princess cruises so far, our 38th is this coming Sunday.

Yes we did, Chairman of the board & brezza marina~s, they were really bad. Our next cruise is 01/21/18 on the Regal, not sure if we will attend.

There are sidewalks if you go through Nisky Center on Google maps and keep heading west.

I would not recommend walking, very hilly & a hard walk. Pay the taxi, worth it.

I don't know the taxi rate as we took the bus ($2 per person each way). The roads were fine, with no problems. There is a boat however that was blown across the road and came to rest in the ditch right by the airport runway, so that was interesting. But no issues with the roads.

Where did you get the bus?

On behalf of those several hundred of us who do enjoy Captain's Circle Parties we "Thank you" for allowing us to enjoy ourselves without what appears from your words to be a very sour disposition.

 

I hope your next 1,000 days of cruising turn out better.

You are 100 percent right, we were on our 37th Princess cruise Dec 10 on the Regal & although the cruise itself was great, the Captains party drinks were horrible. They did serve appetizers that were good & have been deleted on some past cruises but the drinks were so bad, we reordered & received the same crap. Doubt if I`1ll even bother going again. If they want to serve a decent drink they should just cancel the whole event.
