When you use the Diamond benefit for the Lido events, do you pay the extra above the benefit?

Thanks sfred! I also was healthy for the cruise but husband had a little bit of cough towards the end, but was ok. That is interesting about the anti-malarial precautions vs insect repellent. Still have never tried G&T, but maybe next cruise. We have booked QV for 2025 South America and also QM2 2025 Fjords, both for my hopefully impending retirement 😉 How about you? We are happy to be home after 8 days in Barcelona and 34 days on QE. There was quite a bit of coughing most of the cruise with people still not covering their coughs, not using the hand sanitizer and blaming everyone else. Early on we almost were not going to be allowed without masks at one port (forgot which one) because of covid cases, but then they changed their minds...hmmm. Luckily, we did not get sick and are still ok. I hope you are doing well woorimbeachlady.

Yes, when you go to get the internet the page comes up and show the words Premium package and then Essential last and then a price of 36, which I incorrectly assumed was the essential price. You actually have to click on either Premium or Essential and if you select Essential it will then show $24 as the price. When I addressed this at the Pursers Desk, the look on the lady's face told me ths has caught out many people. They need that page to actually say select one, in my opinion, especially those of us who are technically challenged/inexperienced.

We had the issue a few nights ago. I have to have AC at night to be cooler and it had stopped working. Our room steward was there and we told him and he could tell by my explanation that it needed to be fixed now, so used our telephone and called an engineer directly. Within 10 minutes, the engineer arrived and looked at it, then removed two screws, open the "flaps", replaced the screws and said to give it 20 minutes. I said Ok, and started monitoring my time. By 20 minutes, we started to feel cooler air. That is our experience. I hope you get yours fixed asap because that is definitely a problem.

Thank you for this info!!! I also got caught out with me thinking essentials was 24 and getting charged 36 on most of my cruise! I thought 36 for essential was high, but the way the process goes makes it unclear. On my next allotment, I will check carefully and heaven forbid if I see that the process steers me to premuim vs essential......to the pursers desk I will go. I will report back.

After reading this thread (CC is great!) and not knowing if we would receive a copy at home in Melbourne, I chose to pick up a copy at the Voyage Sales area. Glad a picture was provided of the current issue so I could make sure.

Hi, we are on QE and we did not apply before the cruise because they told us it would be organized onboard. We received a letter a few days prior to arriving to Indonesia saying that they would organize and charge 35USD pp.

I have finally caught up with this thread! It is wonderful, so thank you very much. We are currently on QE Barcelona to Melbourne and wanted to catch up. We are doing our first S.A. cruise in 2025 on QV and your information will be so useful! I wish we could afford HAL S.A.
