Reason last 22+ yrs I've always flown in 2 days early, sh..tuff happens

We usually fly in a day early but we got better rates flying in two days early for our Alaska cruise. I'm so glad we did. We fly out tomorrow evening. Praying all goes well for everyone.

  2. I know this is after the fact but for anyone else in this situation.

No Show! No show! No Show when someone cancels close to sailing date or after final payment and you don't have a replacement.  This usually will yield a refund through the vacation insurance. Do not call. Just no Show.

Notify insurance after cruise and file claim to be reimbursed through your insurance.

There are numerous different and scenarios but in general NO SHOW.

On a recent cruise on THE ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS CABIN #7229 WE ASKED TO HAVE OUR BEDS PUT TOGETHER ( we have been married for 67 yrs) & were told buy the room stewart that it couldnt be done. We let it go but it made our cruise like we were with strangers, my question was he right or just didnt want to be bothered??

Why didn't you escalate this to guest services?

I can definitely attest to the fact that Carnival is ramping up their casino rate code offers post-restart. So I think they make a good case that the $25 freebie - while a nice bonus - is really not necessary these days. Those that gamble are likely already on some sort of casino rate that is certainly worth more than $25 anyway.

    THIS^^^^

We have cruised the last 12 months on casino offers. $100 per person plus drinks including companion. Carnival has the best casino offers as far rates, dates, ship, region and perks. I'll take this any day over a $25 credit. What other cruise line allows you to use a casino offer on MULTIPLE cruises. My husband is going to gamble regardless whether it's @ Choctaw or the cruise casino. I love the perks!

Recently, I cancelled 1 person in a reservation 2 days before sailing. It was clear that I was only cancelling the 1 individual. They had the insurance through RCCL so no worries….NOT! “The System” actually cancelled the entire reservation. The person that was NOT cancelled found out when she tried to print her luggage tags 8 hours before she was leaving to go to airport to fly to Miami. Unfortunately, this was at midnight and come to find out RCCL does not have a 24 hour help desk. (They claim that they do but if you call it, they say that they don’t open until 8:00 am) To make a long story short, my friend was able to still cruise because when we called at 8:00 am the manifest wasn’t sent in yet and it was confirmed from listening to taped recording of phone conversation that only 1 person was supposed to be cancelled. (30 minutes later she would have been out of luck!) She was given an inside cabin instead of the balcony she paid for! Be careful if you have to cancel someone!!!

OMG! Yep never cancel one person off a reservation. From experience too many woulda coulda shoulda scenarios. Just let it be a no show.

  6. As mentioned the suites are probably NRD. You could possibly move everyone to inside cabins for one of the weeks.

However, I would not cancel if you did indeed get a great rate like you mentioned on the suites. I would totally chill and relax one week (gratuities would be the only thing on that weeks receipt).  Gamble and do all the things the other week. I would tell the family we're on a budget of zero dollars week one. Week two go and enjoy yourself. My family wouldn't care about budget week one knowing they have a two week cruise. They would be so excited being on the cruise ship for two weeks.

    Have a great cruise.

  7. Thx for posting your live review! This will scratch that I want to cruise now itch.

    Happy Birthday and Anniversary!

We board Quantum in 63 days along with 14 family and friends. My 3rd Alaska cruise, DH 2nd and everyone else's 1st Alaska cruise.

Enjoy your cruise. I'll be here patiently waiting for updates:classic_biggrin:

Let me know how your check in experience goes today.

It's 1.2 miles without a direct sidewalk, as shown here.  Certainly possible but pretty tough with any sort of baggage.  I know it's a tough to consider an uber or taxi for such a short distance but these are probably your best option.

We are doing the same thing leaving Jan 21 on Regal and still not certain how we will get between ships.  If you sail later I can post what we end up doing.

@IceChick and @txjim09 how did you manage transferring between the two terminals?

  9. I co-sign what everyone else has said.  Ship - Celebration. Itinerary - Magic.

Magic will be like going to your great aunts home. Nice and worn, clean, comfy and good bones.

Whereas the Celebration will be like visiting your single, affluent uncle's high rise condo on the top floor.

  10. We're cruising on Quantum out of pier 91 in July. Are the downtown hotels usually around $400ish during the summer?  That's what we are seeing on downtown hotels. Near SeaTac we can find a few in the mid $250s. We reserved a hotel near SeaTac because the prices were freaking us out, just in case the prices increased.
