At 6:45 a.m. there were no people in the elevators mid ship and we walked off without any delay, sailed out to the taxis and were at the airport at 7:15. Couldn't have been easier.

Thanks so much for the confirmation. Although cruising for many years, it is the first time we are going to bring wine on board so just wanted to be sure we wouldn't get thrown in the pokey for any wrongdoings. 🙂

It is my understanding that my husband and I can bring one bottle each of wine on board and that we should carry it on, not put it in our luggage. Will we be charged a corkage fee if the wine is consumed in our cabin?

Would anyone having knowledge of those two cities be able to recommend good hotels in each. My husband and I plan to spend two days in each city to see the sights and would like something central, moderately priced and close to most attractions. I would not take the 11:30 flight as there are too many things that can factor into your delay in getting of the ship. We had a 12:30 flight and made it by the seat of our pants. Our ship was delayed by strong currents and didn't reach the dock on time. We were further delayed by the need for sniffer dogs to greet every passenger disembarking due to people taking food off at other ports along our route in spite of the Captain warning against this practice. So everyone and their hand luggage was inspected thoroughly before we could even claim our larger suitcases. Again,, going through the terminal and immigration was very slow and by the time we were through and into a taxi, we practically needed a change of underwear. By the time we got to the airport with some slow traffic along the way, we got to our gate and people were boarding. Too close for our comfort! Not worth the stress! Enjoy Sydney for an extra day and be sure to eat at Pancakes on the Rocks.

If you can handle your bags by yourself, then chose the option of an early walk off the ship, catch a taxi to the airport and you should be fine. The airport is a 10-15 minute ride from the cruiseport. If there are any delays of the ship returning to port on time, then you could run into a problem.

We took K. Hill Chauffeur Hire back in 2017 when we went to Bath before our cruise from Southampton. Their e-mail at the time was bathtaxis@gmail.com. We were met at Heathrow, driven to Bath and it was a comfortable ride with a professional driver. We appreciated the transportation after an overnight flight from Toronto. In Bath, we stayed at The Henry Guest House, a small but quaint place within walking distance of all Bath attractions and only one block from the train station. We used the train to get to Southampton for our cruise and it was an easy ride. Hope this helps.
