  1. Yes. They were in Quest cabins last week
  2. Sorry. My bad. I meant Discoveries
  3. I think you must be on a different ship to me. I am on Quest now and notice considerable cutbacks. Food is OK but the choices in Compass Rose are limited. I am not a fussy eater but I think the daily choice is poor. It takes ages for the food at Windows lunchtime buffet to be replenished. The CR ‘every day’ menu is a lot smaller than last time I cruised with Azamara. Again, the included drinks list is very reduced. I remember when the cocktail list covered 2 pages. It is down to virtually half a page. We used to love the Azamazing evenings but we too had the Flamenco show last night. However the crew are fabulous.
  4. Transportation from airport to town is approx. £150 which leaves £150 for overnight hotel (Regent one is usually 4* or sometimes 5*) plus breakfast and transportation to ship. Maybe my maths not that good!!! anyway it’s a matter of principle. If we can afford a Regent cruise we can pay the extra but that’s not the point. Regent have broken their contract with us
  5. I accept that it’s happened but to offer us £150pp compensation plus $200pp OBC is the wrong way to handle things. It does not equate to transfers from Keflavik to Reykavik and an overnight including breakfast at a decent hotel. As Sellavee said, the OBC is as much use as a chocolate teapot. Oh well, the kids will be getting another bottle of aftershave each.
  6. Sorry. My bad-£150pp compensation and $200pp OBC
  7. Yes. Would be good to know. Also there are two grades of concierge-we booked the higher one and cruise was booked ages ago.
  8. Oh dear. I have an Azamara cruise booked next month (have sailed with them many times) but also have a Silverseas cruise booked for next year (have also sailed with them). I was horrified to read your ‘Royal Caribbeanized’ comment!
  9. We have had exactly the same happen to us as Sellavee. We didn’t even get notification. I phoned my TA to make sure all was OK a with our booking and when she contacted Regent that’s when we found out. I think Regent has behaved very badly. £200pp compensation is derisory-transfers alone will cost about £150 which leaves £250 for a hotel. In future I will book an F1 grade (which on this cruise was about £800pp cheaper) and arrange my own hotel and transfers, This is not our first Regent cruise, we are gold level, How did they decide who to ‘bump’. I can’t believe it’s every passenger that booked a concierge class cabin.
  10. Having sailed on Mariner over Christmas and New Year, we will now only sail on the 3 new ships.
  11. Unfortunately all posts referring to Anchorage and other ports don’t help those of us who have been ‘bumped’.We will of course sort out somewhere to stay but Regent have behaved badly.
  12. My itinerary shows round trip to London Heathrow . Am still waiting to hear more from Regent as they have broken our contract. In reality instead of a concierge cabin we are getting an F1. On website this is about £600 cheaper. Why offer a two cabin upgrade and then take it away?!?!
  13. We have also been ‘bumped’. Not a happy person! TA is on the case but I have reserved a hotel just in case
  14. My husband was given a one day FCC for one person. Hardly worth the paper.
  15. We had the same problem last year on Journey on a South Africa intensive trip. At least they are trying to sort the problem. On our sailing it was ignored, despite the long queues outside the medical centre and a trip to the cruise director asking him to stop the self service buffet.
  16. Definitely 3.15. You need to be at Heathrow 3 hours before your flight and the journey from Southampton takes just over an hour if there is no traffic and that’s highly unlikely!
  17. Our cruise was last January and no it wasn’t typical.
  18. After the cruise we happened to meet some people who had been on the previous cruise and they had the same illness problems. I too was surprised at the hotel directors attitude. We have sailed Azamara many times and had the most nights on board.
  19. This is the first time I’ve written about this and it happened last January on an Africa intensive cruise. There was a severe stomach virus onboard but I don’t know if it was Noro. Virtually everyone we spoke to had been affected (and people don’t talk lightly about their toilet habits!). Every day the queue outside the doctors office was halfway down the corridor. We were a party of 8 and 6 were unwell. When my husband questioned the doctor he was confined to his cabin for 24 hours. Azamara did not handle the situation well. After quite a few visits to the hotel director they eventually stopped self service in the buffet. They did not enforce hand washing. It was as if they ignored the problem it would go away! We were told that it was food and drink we’d had on land. Not so as we weren’t ill until days after boarding. The second thing was not down to Azamara but the stops were very poor. I love visiting South Africa but the Cape area is so superior to other parts. Let’s hope things are much better in April and we will consider returning to Azamara more often.
  20. We had a horrendous cruise with Azamara last year and we had the most ‘nights’ onboard! We are trying again this April but just for a week. Having sailed with RSSC and Seabourn it will have to be a special experience to keep us with Azamara but I am hoping because it was always my favourite line.
  21. I have just noticed that our scheduled Azamazing evening in Malaga is now on the ship. A flamenco show. Not what I expect from Azamara.
  22. We arrived yesterday for a few nights pre-cruise. Hotel (Biltmore) is nice but bathrooms could do with updating.
  23. I’m sorry but I don’t understand what you mean when you say that if you upgrade you only get one device log-in.
