A lot will depend on how many ships are in port and their arrival times. If you are the first ship to arrive your timings will be a lot better than if you are a later ship. As you are due to arrive at 7.00am if you get one of the first tenders for independent passengers the line for the cable car should not be too long.

Once at the top you will then have to get to Oia which takes about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi which would be the quickest way. There is the public bus but though it is cheaper it takes longer and it depends on when you get up to Fira.

I was on Infinity in June and our scheduled arrival was 8.00am however we arrived at 7.30am. At 7.40am the line to collect tender tickets at the Martini Bar went through the Casino and into the Photo Gallery. Line up early to get the earliest tender ticket possible. The first tender called for independent passengers was at 7.50am.

Ship excursion passengers tender to the Old Port where the cable car, stairs and donkeys are. Shore excursion passengers tender to the Athinios Ferry Port to get their buses so there are two seperate tender routes.

I have twice arrived in Santorini at 7.00am when on Princess ships (both times the first ship to arrive) and been on the first tender for independent passengers, not had a line for the cable car, got the cable car up to Fira, walked to the bus station, got the 8.30am bus and arrived in Oia at 9.15am so it is possible to be in Oia before 10.00am.

If the ship arrives at the scheduled time (or earlier), you get on an early tender, get on the cable car with a minimal wait and get a taxi quickly you should be able to make your cooking class but if there are any major delays it could be a bit tight.

Thsi port is even further away but looks like I could get a taxi.  I'm going to find out when and where the tender tickets are given out and get there early

  2. So thanks for all the answers.  We will be at Santorini on Oct 3 and there are 3 ships arriving at 7 and several others, though they are much smaller, later on.  If I take the speed boat to Oia as I understand it we still have to get up the hill by foot, is that correct. I read there is a bus but someone said it doesnt take you into Oia??

Thanks. We’re not planning on playing during the cruise, but having a golfing holiday afterwards - hence storing them because, yes, there is very limited space in the cabins! I’ll try and contact Celebrity and see what they say 😐 Plenty of time to plan - not sailing till next January but I like to be prepared! 😁

perhaps see if there is any storage place in your port city.

  4. We were in the aqua class on the summit when it first started and really enjoyed it.  It is much pricier now and I'm looking at a greece cruise in Aqua.  When I price it out it seems the drinks are included but looking at a sample Blu menu from the Infinity it shows prices.  Did you have drinks included as a part of the Aqua experience.

    Thanks

    Dave

  5. the cruise number is totally different than booking number.  my cruise number is B919 for May.  it shows on my summary. its under booking details as voyage number.

You posted the old good site. The new site has rows of pictures that state the destination, no drop down boxes anymore.

Thanks I'm new to Princess so didn't know.  But isn't bizzarre that some get the old site and some the new site.

It is horrible isn't it.  You can't see all the dates with prices, you need to click on each individual date and with some cruises like Mexico that is 15-20 dates to open individually. Sometimes change for the sake of change isn't for the better.

Do you see this on your browser?  Click the view all dates and pricing

I had the same problem. Somehow the cruise isn't associated with your email address. You can add your email under the Personalizer once you sign in through the Booked Guest link, and it should show up on your account next time you log in once they've processed the email addition.

I just checked and my email is the same on my booking and my captains circle acct.

  9. when I sign into my account and go to upcoming cruises, I get the message there is no cruise associated with this acct.  I can only access through the booked guests link.  It has been this way since the day I booked and paid in full through a travel agent.

its a little annoying cause logging onto my acct the login and password self populates and through the booked guest I have to enter all info every time.

Hi Dave,  I just returned from Caribbean Princess three weeks ago.  I can give you a few tips.

    1. The Ocean Medallion Program is working pretty well; so download the app and fill it out and they will mail you the medallion

    2. Medallion Net the new wifi is blazing fast

    3. There are gluten free items in buffet; suggest you speak with your waiters on first night in your dining room.  They will try and accomadate you

    4. Deck 7 is wrap around; you will walk up a flight of stairs in the front of ship on both sides; here is a pic of deck 7

    4. We were in aft cabin on Caribe deck. This is from our balcony

If you have any questions just ask.  The ship is in great shape; you will be on it after the drydock; Our ports of call were

Cayman Islands, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel

Thanks for pics.  I didn't know I needed to pre order medallion but ahve done so now.

    Hi Dave..

Re your questions about Princess Cays. Judging from your "call sign", I'll assume you're an experienced snorkeler. (I'm a life long snorkeler and got my first SCUBA certs back in the mid-70s. I've dove St Thomas and snorkeled both St T and St John). As snorkeling destinations go, PC ain't Coz or the Caymans, and is a bit less than the USVIs. Water clarity is iffy by "purist" standards, but you'll probably see the basic wildlife (fish anyway: never seen any inverts to speak of) and not much really good reef. As others have said, when you get off the tender, turn left and keep walking past the BBQ/Cafeteria and head towards the last beach promontory/lifeguard station, the one with the red roof. I've found the "best" water and snorkelling at PC to be under that building and to the north of that area, which was the closest thing to a "reef" I've ever found at PC.

PC is at the extreme southern end of Eleuthera. Head to Google Maps and check out the satellite imagery, and you'll easily see the red roof hut I'm referring to near the northern extremity of the site.

Have a GREAT cruise (and dive ;o)

Thanks, great information.  I'll probably haul my gear and check it out.  I see on goggle earth where you are refering to.

    Dave
