  1. Collage Football? Yay!! Do they play all the games on multiple TV's?

I think they had a few different games going I didn't really pay attention I'm more of a pro football fan.

  2. I can't image how long Dinner was with 5 courses as it was 1 1/2 to 2 hours for just the three courses. We did order an appetizer, a pasta and an entree sometimes so you can make it to your liking.

I thought overall the food was pretty good in the main dining which is the only place we ate once we found out that gluten free meals are only available in the main dining.

This created a problem on the first port day when we got back early to have lunch on board. In addition to us, another couple and a family who were all gluten free showed up to have lunch. While it may have been in the daily planner that it would be closed ( I say may because times posted when it was open were not always accurate) none of us were informed what our options were when it was closed as evidently other passengers were informed what to do.

A crew member just happened to come by and told us it was closed we all asked what we were to do since this is the only place to serve gluten free food. She called two officers Flavio the Maitre D and Carlos, who was maybe in charge of all dining(?) and they got two waiters and had a cook report and we were made a meal that we ate in the pizza restaurant we had a GF pasta with seafood and salmon, both were very good. We were also given a free Mojito which was pretty strong and calmed us all down, lol. We were then told we could order lunch from guest services that would be made to meet our dietary needs and could be taken from the ship or eaten aboard. We were told that 14 guests had done that today.

There were clearly some communication issues about this and what was surprising is that we got a phone call on the 2nd day to make sure everything was ok. I told them the meals were good but the gluten free menu and where we could get gluten free food was limited. That would have been a great time to inform us about alternate arrangements because the dining room would not be open on port days.

So while it was an issue once informed we were ok. While I was impressed with the officers and how they accommodated all of us, the waiters were very unsure of what could be done and we typically got responses of I don't think I can do that.

I can tell you they were busting their butts and we appreciated them but empowering them would be good for business imo.

  3. We may need to switch ships will RCCL allow that?

    Thanks

It appears from your other post ( and also since I just saw your date in the post above) that since this is before final payment, yes you can. If you used a TA you might pay admin fees depends on the agency but when I changed weeks I did not have to pay any additional fees using a TA.

  4. To speed up check in - cards are left in the cabins and registration is done using the various machines. All they do is look at your documentation when taking your photo, then it's on the ship.

We got seapass cards as we checked in prior to going through security but registered the payment card at the kiosk.

I used a debit card for the first time on a cruise and had to reconcile on the last day. If you authorize an amount (you are given several preset amounts) and you don't spend it all you get cash back in hand from the CS desk. If you didn't authorize enough you have to reauthorize another amount to cover that or you can not get off the ship as they will not automatically charge your debit card. I just waited until just before debarkation and reconciled the correct amount owed.

If you use a credit card you just use the kiosk once and no more worries.

  5. $84 for 18 coupons sounds great but is each drink ( mixed, soft drink or wine) just one coupon? And how much is the average drink?

It is 1 coupon per drink up to $8 per cocktail or $7.50 per glass of wine. Most drinks (90%) are $7.75 and less. This was different than what has previously reported on this forum. This was on the Divina last week and initially thought many of the drinks that were $7.75 wouldn't be covered but then noticed the fine print on the brochures promoting the drink packages.

  7. Latest update from the MSC Website

The latest new & updates on weather & itinerary information

    10/5/2016

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Matthew. MSC Divina is scheduled to embark as planned on Saturday, October 8th, but will have itinerary changes.

The USA office is closed as of 12pm EST on Wednesday, October 5th. Please be patient as a limited number of call center agents will be available to assist you. For more information on booking a cruise, please contact your travel agent or call MSC Cruises on Monday, October 10th, as our call center will be fully staffed.

Please check back on this page for any further updates or call 855-268-4169.

  8. We fly in Saturday morning for the 10/08 Divina cruise. I don't see any problems. No worries :D

Hope you are correct, due to family events will also be flying in on Saturday. Once we get to Miami no worries. It looks positive right now but the path estimates this far out can really change. We should have a good idea by Wednesday what and where Matthew will be.

Best wishes for all headed to Miami for the cruise this Saturday. I'm more worried about luggage getting soaked being taken from the plane.

  9. We are also cruising on the Adventure in March 2017 and have a flight out at 9:30 am. When we cruised on the Summit we easily made a flight at this same time as we were one of the first to walk off and self disembark. Our friends got to the airport so early they could not check their luggage as they were so early for their 10:30 flight.

You do need to have your bags put through the agricultural scanner but that took an additional 5 minutes. I made sure the Adventure arrives in port at the same time the Summit did.

  10. You have to wait for 20 days before the cruise to print the docs?

Bit of confusion, I can print the documents that have been sent to me right now. But I changed emergency contact info on my wife's info from me to my daughter and MSC informed me to reprint the E Docs. So when I click on the E-Tickets tab it states "Your cruise does not depart within 20 days". I also just realize I have to re-request the E Docs by clicking on a request button at the bottom of the page and can't just print them myself.

  11. We're going on the 8th as well. Have you received any documents yet? We have not.

We are on the Oct 8 cruise as well and I have received mine twice, once at 30 days out and again just yesterday. But I changed an emergency contact number and I can't reprint from the website as its not 20 out from the cruise date. Strange.

  12. Thanks for your responses, I will bring my own new cord with an adapter but also saw this answer on another thread so am going to try and see if this works so I don't have to walk over the cord at night. I did submit a special needs request for the CPAP and food allergies.

From Homosassa "We contacted special needs well in advance of the cruise to note the need of an extension cord and distilled water for the CPAP machine. It was noted on the reservation for their cabin.

Once on board, my daughter found a note requesting that she call to arrange the delivery of the water and cord and the accessing of a plug by the end tables so that the cord need not be strung across the cabin. That particular plug was European and the extension cord provided fit the plug and had a US connection for the machine to plug into. Someone had to be in the cabin for the delivery and plug accessing."

  13. Your particular cruise is not selling well so the price has dropped to try to fill cabins last minute. My cruise two weeks earlier is nearly sold out and the prices rose and never came back down.

That's how it is, if you are within driving distance to the port and have complete flexibility you can get some amazing deals but most of us have to pick a date and try to book the best deal for cruise and airfare and then live with it unless fares drop before final payment date (not be be confused with your final payment if made before the final payment is actually due).

    Enjoy your cruise.

    Dave
