Off subject but, seeing as Canada was mentioned, I'll share a conversation we had with Americans from one of the southern states. When they found out we were from Toronto the wife had no clue where that was. Her husband's reply was "they live close to the Arctic Circle". The wife then suggested we must buy all our "warm weather clothing" online!

There is a dedicated thread on the Canadian Cruisers forum which you'll find very helpful.

We sailed the Grand Princess last May and loved it. The only disappointment was the buffet which is much smaller than that on the Regal Princess. However, the food in the main dining room was AWESOME so no need to eat at the buffet.

Many ships don't have an Alfredo's. On those ships the pizza you get is what is served on Lido deck which is definitely not the same quality as Alfredo's.
We actually love the Lido deck pizza; especially if you get it right out of the oven!

Happy Birthday! (I just turned 70 this month and I'm not at all interested in quitting yet. 😀)
Unfortunately we often say now, glad we’re closer to the end of our lives than the beginning. The world and its inhabitants just keep getting crazier! 😢

Very interesting thread. I incorrectly assumed it was something to be done by stealth. Wonderful to know how dignified the process is in reality. I always used to joke that I wanted my ashes interred in one of the beautiful vases on my favourite Celebrity ship but this sounds more realistic. It's my 73rd birthday today but I'm planning on carrying on for many years to come!

@Relaxing RitaSintra is WONDERFUL but, being there is 4 of you and your time is limited, I would recommend a taxi once you arrive in Sintra. The tourist train is fine UNLESS there are crowds waiting for it which is what happened to us. An entire school group was waiting. Taxis are not allowed to pick up random passengers from the sites (which we didn't know) so we had to make arrangements "on the quiet" with a driver who was waiting for his regular customers to complete their tour. This necessitated us walking a ways down the hill in order to meet up with him. Follow the advice from edinburgher and see if you can find a taxi tour you can arrange in advance and, since your time IS limited, decide what you really want to see because you just don't have time to see everything.

I’ll have to update my passport info on the Nexus cards next.
I didn't know you had to do this. How?

I always wanted to try the cheeseburger pie but it was always long gone before lunch and it’s not something I’d want to eat warm/cold. 😢

I would be very surprised if you were able to book excursions this late for a May sailing.

Windows try holding the "windows" key and hit the print screen key. Screen will darken briefly to let you know it took. Should save itself to a screenshot file in your pictures folder.

Then do a paste somewhere (word document, E-mail, etc.) CTRL V
BOTH work perfectly so, thanks very much for taking the time to help an intelligent but not tech savvy 73 year old!

• to locate fellow cruisers (with their permission)
• to crew chat rather than go up to Customer Service Desk
• to view activities in Journey View although Ocean Concierge is a better platform for viewing patter. IT DOES NOT Reserve you a space anywhere.
• to gamble (although I wouldn't do this)
Can't you do all that using INTRANET (not internet)?

Milkshakes from Coffee & Cones is included.

Where do figure that airplane that took you from Montreal to Toronto came from?
We didn’t ask but from the total disaster it must have been a LONG flight!

Thanks but I don’t have a Mac!

When we returned from Europe with AT via Montreal a few years ago, they used a bus type vehicle that transferred us from one plane to the next. We thought that was weird not having to clear customs in Montreal. The flight from Montreal to Toronto was totally littered with debris from the disembarking passengers, no clean up whatsoever.

I know how to do a screenshot on my iPhone but have no idea how to do it on my desktop computer. Any advice?

I will definitely keep the mac & cheese in mind although on the Grand Princess last May I had amazing beef almost every night.

After a wrong number more than once it gets disconnected.
See post #34.

Our experience was many years ago. Didn't even know you COULD disconnect the phone nowadays. Guess if this happens to us it will be a sticky note on the door!

I'm sure you'll love Newfoundland and, as they like to say, July is the ONLY time to visit. We went in May and it was awesome to see the HUGE icebergs. Enjoy.
