Starting my Wonder research
blondie from arizona replied to BillOh's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Just got back from sailing. The solarium wings are a nice out of the way place to go, but they are not open during sailing. Also, the 'hidden' balcony is in the back by the rock climbing wall on 6 and 7. There is even seating and it was completely empty. 🙂 As for ice skating, it did open, but in the evenings on weird days. It said it was going to be open on Costa Maya day, so we went, but it was CLOSED. Annoyed it was on the schedule but no one there. We had a great vacation. She is a beautiful ship. -
Going to the Pharmacy in Cozumel
blondie from arizona replied to blondie from arizona's topic in Cozumel
I am worried about it. I certainly wouldn't buy meds and then use them on the ship. I will wait until I get home and then only do it while DH is around and can call the ambulance. Just in case it is laced w Fentanyl, I guess. I did contact the pharmacy from above and they responded. We will have to see. I do not think DH will be on board with this idea, but I need something to stop the suffering. The doctors broke me and now they just shrug their shoulders with how to fix me. And they don't listen. -
I purchased Retin-A (40g) .1% many years ago in Mexico and was going to buy some more. Just wondering about current prices. Probably going to go away from the port pharmacy and go to the Wal-mart (Cozumel). Any idea how much that should currently cost? Also, planning to purchase Prednisone either 10 or 20 mg. Any idea on pricing? And, does it come in a bottle or the punch pack (which tells you when to take it)? Do I need to ask for these things up at the counter or can I browse the pharmacy area. I believe both items do NOT need a script.

RCCL SERVICE DOG INFORMATION
blondie from arizona replied to DogDad27's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You could check on your roll call on cruise critic or on F ay s book to see if anyone wants to hire out to watch your pup while you swim. People are kind. You should be able to find someone to help you. Sometimes people make friends who help them out. I have met a lot of lovely people here! -
Cruises from Baltimore
blondie from arizona replied to read2learn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I don't know if I want to leave my car in New Jersey. Plus, we picked this cruise just for the convenience. It may no longer be convenient and then I am not on a preferred ship and have to drive further. I am not going to call RCL about it though. My cruise is a ways off. I will wait and see. It is all GOOD. I love RCL and I am sad for the people that lost loved ones and sad for America. It is a big deal that the bridge was destroyed. Not a big deal about my vacation. -
Cruises from Baltimore
blondie from arizona replied to read2learn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Would anyone like to take an educated guess as to how long it will be before Vision is back in port at BWI? And, for those that do not want to change embarkation ports, what is RCLs standard protocol for this? -

Starting my Wonder research
blondie from arizona replied to BillOh's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have some questions. We will be on in a month. We have sailed her sister ships, but not Wonder. 1. Which decks have the secret public balconies to watch the Aqua show or just have a great view? 2. When I looked last week, they did not have any open skating on the schedule. Are they training a new ice cast, or have they decided not to do open skating anymore? Thanks! -

The app and the calendar

Need some help. I can't find the link. I used to know where it was, but can't seem to find it. The app keeps trying to sell me a new cruise. Help please. -
Free Diamond Pictures
blondie from arizona replied to sailor05's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think it depends on the ship and if they actually print all the photos. I know the newer ships use facial recognition and you go to the photo gallery and pick a picture that they print later. On the older ships, ALL the pictures are printed. You go find it on the wall and then take them to the checkout. Everything about Royal is random. It is so nice that you want to give them a picture. No harm in trying. Good luck. -
Gosh, they are there, right next to the taco bar. In the same venue. I think there is also a vegetarian sandwich and a Cuban, but don't quote me on that. There are a few options. I always just go for the Rib-eye. It has peppers and onions on it. Oh, and cheese. Kinda like a Philly cheesesteak. Sliced meat. They had them in Jan, Mar and April. I go again in 2 weeks. I sure hope they have them. I have been on a diet and it is going to be my splurge item!!!!!

Our First Time To CoCo Cay - Questions
blondie from arizona replied to WoodstockGirl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The snack shacks have fruit available. Also funnel cakes. I know you can get chocolate or caramel sauce on them. The chicken sandwich at the snack shack is OK, but if you are headed to the buffet anyway....save room for the ribeye sandwich! And, of course the taco bar with grilled chicken and steak. And, brownies and ice cream. All included or "FREE". We are going to be there again in 3 weeks. I am already on my diet, just so I can get that ribeye sandwich! Yum Yum!!!! -
I would not count on it. We were on the same ship in March and April. March trip they sent an e-mail and processed the request. April, no response to e-mail and request not fulfilled. And, to add insult to injury, while I was on the ship in March, I talked to the maître d' and they supposedly noted it and promised me it would be taken care of. I just don't trust them anymore and always go to the dining room and check my table as soon as we board.

Mexican night menu
blondie from arizona replied to CruisinCadie's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I had the enchilada and it was fine and not spicy at all. It NEEDED something though as it was quite dry. This was my second time ordering it so I ordered some 'salsa' and a LOT of sour cream. I ended up receiving a small container of the red sauce that they use to make the enchilada and a small container of sour cream. Next time I will order it again, but also improvise again. 4sure order 2 extra containers of sour cream. I am not a wasteful person, but they have gotten so stingy, you have to work around the issues that they force upon us. I dont understand if they are going to have "Mexican night" why can't they have a more complete menu? Like chips and salsa or some queso??? I know they have salsa in the windjammer. Also, it did come with rice and beans, which were good. The beans were hidden beside/under the enchilada, but they were tasty. -
Diamond drink question
blondie from arizona replied to blondie from arizona's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for the help. My DH liked our guy and got the perfect drink from him. That is why I didn't want to change guys. Plus, once they start to know you in the lounge, you usually keep the guy you started with. I had asked a similar question, which I didn't get a very good response too. I was really wanting the OLD recipe for the rum punch. Then I could tell him how to make it. It appears that isn't going to happen. I will work on him this week when we get back on. He was very agreeable to changing the drinks; he just didn't have a lot of knowledge on what to add to get it more like the old drink as he was not here then. -
When we use our vouchers, are the waiters supposed to make the drink the same way that it is on the menu. Or, do they just quickly shake and pour to get it over with? Specifically, I have been drinking the rum punch. Not a fan of the new recipe; however, it says it has a "float of Kraken Black Spiced rum". It is obvious that the drinks that I am receiving do not have this. So, if I am in the lounge with my same waiter, should I say something to him? I don't want to be looked upon as a problem, but I would like to have a nice drink. I have found the consistencies of the drinks have not been great between bars. I know on my last cruise, the guy was new to bartending and I didn't want to stress him out. However, 3 weeks later, I am going back on the same ship and will probably have him be my main drink guy. How do I go about getting something better, or at least getting what is on the menu?? And, yes, we tip.

Windjammer on Visions of the seas
blondie from arizona replied to babbet1962's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We are going to be on her again on April 21 also. Should be a great cruise. The Solarium cafe will give you a little variety. They have kemmilwecks w beef, paninis, pizza. The Tuna melt was very good. I do wish they would have chips or something to go with them, but I had a salad instead. The honey mustard dressing is very good. We have not tried the main dining room for lunch, but plan to on the upcoming cruise. The windjammer had a nice, fresh salad every day. The burger patty was acceptable, but probably not 100% beef. DH thought they had nice fresh buns. I actually enjoyed a hot dog! I did not want to imply the WJ was bad, just that it is literally the same every day. I was looking for nachos and was disappointed. -
Windjammer on Visions of the seas

breakfast 6:30-10, lunch 11:30-3:30, dinner 6:00-9:00. I just got off Vision a couple weeks ago. They have the omelet station for breakfast and give you a beeper. Go get your other food, by then you are beeping and get your omelet. Worked great. No variety in the lunch menu. It is exactly the same every day, with the exception of the topping of the day they put on some of the pre-made burgers. Did not try their dinner, but I heard it is the same food as the dining room, but more. We are getting back on in a week, so would love to hear anyone elses thoughts on it. I might have missed something. -
Rum Punch ~ old recipe
blondie from arizona replied to blondie from arizona's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for all the assistance. I am still researching. It did allow me to try a lot of drinks! Ha ha! I will keep searching. It wasn't the one with the lime ( I think that is the Planters Punch). And the one with the coconut rum was good (I think that is what they are calling the Bahama Mamma or the Goombay Smash). I also went into the app and looked at ALL the bars and ALL the menus. -
Does anyone know the old rum punch recipe so I can give it to my bartender. The new recipe just isn't as good. I have been trying every drink on the ship, and I can't find anything I like as well. Seems that the 'new' bartenders all look at me a little strangely when I tell them that the new, improved version isn't as good. Or, is there anything in the current menu that is a must try? I was on an 11 nt last week and tried all the daily specials. Closest I could come up with was a "Rum Runner' or a "Bahama Mamma". After a couple drinks, it is pointless to keep trying, since my taste buds are all numb and happy by then. First world problems. Cheers everyone!!!
