  1. I assumed she would be responsible for recruiting & managing the cruise and hotel directors (or the equivalent, but you could be right).
  2. Not sure Heike would be onboard, her role looks to be at a higher level!
  3. I am reposting the link to the spreadsheet from time to time to save people having to search through the forum to find it. It comes with a health warning that much of it was compiled pre COVID and pre Sycamore. It’s only as good as the people who post here, so do please post any changes you come across. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15Deg-GaeZYLml8NN3PVwoh_jUkQ8QmYUe1wxnVAlODE/edit
  4. I thought the prices were very mixed. Caribbean cruises looked very reasonable, but some of the Mediterranean ones were very expensive. Interesting that their prices are per suite, not per person.
  5. As far as dinner is concerned you may have to wait for a table for a short time, depending on what time you go to Discoveries, but as there’s a very nice bar there (Discoveries bar) you can sip a drink while you wait.
  6. She was a wonderful woman who absolutely fulfilled the promise she made at her coronation to do her utmost for our country. I remember the coronation as a child and saw her close up when she came to open the Humber Bridge - my daughter was a member of the Brownie guard of honour when she got off the train at our village. Somehow I, and I think many others, thought she would go on forever.
  7. There are breakfast cards in your room that you can fill in and leave on the outside handle of your stateroom door. You can order as much or as little as you want. We order tea and fruit juice for our room.
  8. You can also get the train from Rome to Civitavechia (port for Rome). The station is not too far from the port, and there are taxis available. Much cheaper way of doing it.
  9. Although Azamara does go up the Saigon River and docks pretty near the town, it’s still provides a shuttle as it’s not really walkable from the dock.
  10. You can only use one device at a time. It’s no problem to wait until you board to book Wifi for another device
  11. And if it’s off the ship it’s the same. They never provide a full meal, just nibbles (and not always those). If it off the ship they usually put on a buffet in Windows afterwards.
  12. In Ushaia you can do a tour to Martello Island where you walk amongst Gentoo and Magellanic penguins. It’s brilliant. The desk to join it is just alongside the jetty where the ships dock https://www.viator.com/en-GB/tours/Ushuaia/Walk-with-the-Penguins-in-Martillo-Island/d933-5239P80
  13. One of our friends is a qualified Wine Master. He maintains that you shouldn’t judge a wine by its price. He buys and drinks wine at a variety of price points, including some at £5-6 a bottle.
  14. Our GP has texted us to say we will have our 5th vaccine (4th booster) early in October along its our annual flu shot.
  15. Thanks for posting, I’ve amended the spreadsheet accordingly.
  16. In the topic ‘Anyone Onboard Currently’ a member has confirmed that in suites & veranda plus staterooms the spirits provided in your room is now a bottle chosen from a list. Here’s a photo of their post which shows the list. I’ve changed the spreadsheet to reflect this change. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15Deg-GaeZYLml8NN3PVwoh_jUkQ8QmYUe1wxnVAlODE/edit
  17. Tendering in Dubrovnik is wonderful, you come right into the harbour of the old town.
  18. Only time we went to India on a cruise we were disembarking there and had to have a full visa. Several passengers had to disembark at Dubai because they didn’t have them. This included a chap who had a business visa. He was told that because he was on a cruise his business visa couldn’t be used.
  19. Have you looked at the Cruise Critic roll call for your cruise. May be helpful information there.
  20. Thanks Rabo. I remember it well, especially as we were around at midnight that night and it was still light!
  21. No, it’s not, open from either 7am to 10pm I think.
  22. Totally agree with uktog. It’s a fun night where most people make an effort to wear something with white in/on it. My husband also wears beige trousers with a white polo or long sleeved shirt ( depending on the climate). I take white trousers, a sleeveless white and a long sleeved white top, both of which also look great with black trousers for dinner another night, as do the white trousers with a different coloured top. I definitely wouldn’t call it an elegant night, though certainly some guests do look elegant!
  23. We’re happy to use the other doors and mostly it doesn’t bother us. We quite appreciate that smokers need to have an area to ‘indulge’ and at least on Azamara it’s outdoors!
