My Brief-ish Thoughts on Horizon 8 Day S. Caribbean
TeresaJ replied to Ariel0185's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are currently on the Horizon and our cabin is hot. I am not a person who likes it especially cold but my husband slept without a sheet or blanket last night and we both woke up this morning both feeling like there was no air in our room. We mentioned it to the cabin steward this morning and we just got back to our cabin after being out all day and it's hot in here! So I called guest services and they sent a tech down and he measured our room at 78 degrees! They are now calling in a technician to further come look at it. We are in a balcony on the 7th deck. 😒 -

Glad to hear it was great snorkeling! -

We leave on this same cruise on Saturday. We also have a balcony, so hoping it's not too warm. We've never had issues on other cruises before. I second Seavis tours in DR. We did this tour years ago and it was great. We are also doing Woodwind in Bonaire. How was the snorkeling? Thanks for sharing! -
No spectacular offers here either. We booked 4 cruises last year when they were offering amazing deals. I don't expect to see anything fantastic in the near future. Those deals were phenomenal!

WIFI PRICES AND RECOMMENDED GRATUITIES ADJUSTMENTS
TeresaJ replied to cruisingguy007's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Yes, they are increasing to $20 per person per day. More if you are in suites. I was recently looking at a Norwegian cruise and saw that cost and thought it was much more than Carnival. -

Same thing happened to me. Mine also showed $48 per person but when I checked out, it was actually $42. -

Hmm. I just paid $42 per person for our cruise this month. -
Thanks for the heads up! Mine is showing $84 for 2 people. I've had it in my cart for a few weeks and it was showing $96 for 2 people until now.

Hey OP, we had this same issue on our last two cruises. We want to sit on our balcony and enjoy the view. I don't want to smell weed while I'm out there. If it's illegal to bring on board, it should be enforced, but clearly it's not. I'm hoping we won't have this issue on our next cruise. We are paying a lot more for a balcony than an inside room so it will be quite disappointing if we come across this again. While I'm not against marijuana, I just feel that if it's not allowed on board then don't bring it and smoke it. Period.

No suit jacket required. Back in the day, people dressed up more. My husband wore a suit on our first cruise and I wore a sparkly cocktail dress. Now, I wear a dress of some kind but maybe not as formal or sparkly. Hubby wears black dress pants and a nice shirt on elegant night and then khaki pants or shorts the others. I have seen all ranges of attire from basketball shorts to suit pants. There really is no dress code even though they say there is.

Convince a Carnival cruiser to try NCL
TeresaJ replied to groundloop's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I think trying different cruise lines is a great idea! We like both lines. We had exclusively sailed Carnival with our kids then decided to switch it up and try NCL several years ago. We loved both those cruises and the ships were awesome. The ships were bigger than Carnival and didn't seem crowded at all. I like the free at sea promo that is always running so you get the drink package, wifi, specialty dining and Shore excursion credit with NCL booking. We also loved the casual dining at O'Sheehans (bar and grill, fun atmosphere) in the evening if we didn't feel up to going to the main dining room. If you have kids, there is tons for them to do on NCL ships. One thing we did miss though is all the free specialty restaurants that Carnival offers during the daytime like Guys, Bbq place, Blue Iguana, etc. The NCL ships we sailed on didn't really have that type of offering for lunch so we just ate at the buffet everyday. I think Carnival offers more diverse itineraries than NCL but there are still some great itineraries on NCL. We haven't sailed NCL since before covid and lately have been sailing Carnival because their deals are too hard to pass up however we are itching to go on a NCL cruise again. Good luck! -
Man Overboard on Carnival Valor found alive
TeresaJ replied to BlerkOne's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Glad he was found alive! So I read the story and his sister said that they were at a bar and he went to the bathroom and never returned but his sister didn't report him missing for 11 hours. What the heck!!! -
I noticed that too because I was looking at the Vista for early 2024 and noticed there weren't any sailings in January or early February, so about a 5 or 6 week span. Could it be a dry dock??
-
All the cruises that I was pricing out prior to the sale have not changed in price. Oh well, another non-existent sale for me at least! I don't see any deals!
-
The wording is weird. I'm guessing they meant already paid prior to today.
-
I am seeing the increased price for our cruise on Horizon in January too. Seems like they aren't honoring new purchases today.

Carnival Magic Lido Interior or Deck one Oceanview ??
TeresaJ replied to pearle1's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Lido interior for location! But Oceanview for a bigger cabin. Since it's just 2 of you, I'd go with the interior cabin! Can't beat that location! -
$48 for a steakhouse meal with appetizer and dessert is still a pretty good deal! The steak served in the main dining room is not great quality. We still plan to eat at the steakhouse in January. I think $5 upcharge for a 3rd entree is pretty reasonable. Go to the buffet if you want unlimited food!

Another itinerary change - Mardi Gras
TeresaJ replied to IntrepidFromDC's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are on Mardi Gras 1/20/2024 and so far our itinerary has not changed. I see that the cruise before ours and the one after have switched to Nassau, so maybe it's just a matter of time when they switch ours. We will be bummed if it gets switched. We've been to Nassau so many times so this would be a disappointing change for us too. -
Spiced rum? I'm hearing Cap' Morgans has gone?!
TeresaJ replied to cbowls30's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I love Captain Morgan and it was not available on either our April or July cruises. I'm hoping it will be back for our January cruise!
