  1. Not exactly... IIRC, the pre-existing conditions must be stable for a specified period of time - at least many of the pre-existing conditions.
  2. Personally, if the price was close, I would book the private car which will pick you up at the hotel.
  3. I use a PCC. I asked how I could transfer my booking to a TA, because the price was lower, and HAL matched the price with OBC. There are a few ports that weโ€™ve been to a couple of times, so I guess weโ€™ll just take whatever excursions are available in those ports. Pinnagrill lunch is a great idea, as are a couple of Hal shirts and hats. I think weโ€™re good. Just wouldโ€™ve been nice to use the OBC as a down payment on another cruise. ๐Ÿ˜
  4. Darn. We have HIA, with gratuities included. Was planning on getting the laundry, but thatโ€™s about it. Weโ€™ve never had enough OBC to be concerned, but this time we were able to secure quite a nice sum. It may be worth it to pre-book an excursion, then cancel it and rebook using OBC once on board. The good excursions are selling out quickly.
  5. There are some very interesting cities on this cruise too. I think youโ€™ll enjoy it.
  6. Is OBC received from HAL refundable at the end of the cruise, or should I plan on spending it all? we were going to use it for excursions, but I worry that any of the ones we might want to do will be sold out. Also, tbh, I would rather book with other tour operators and choose the exact tour we want to doโ€ฆ However if my OBC is non-refundable, then I may as well wait until weโ€™re onboard and see whatโ€™s left to book. thank you for your help!
  7. Ok thanks. Iโ€™ll try looking for them! sorry for the hijack!
  8. Did you happen to write a review of your port visits by any chance?
  9. I think I read somewhere about a $15 cancellation fee?
  10. Itโ€™s about a 15 minute drive. We didnโ€™t have an open air bus, we had a regular bus with air conditioning. The monkeys are in an enclosure and they do jump all over you! it was funโ€ฆ something different to do. After the monkey business, you walk over to an open air museum where you are served a sample of Dominican coffee, hot chocolate and mamajuana.
  11. If youโ€™re from Canada, and paying 30% more per drink, it often makes sense to purchase the beverage card when the exchange rates are better. Also, if youโ€™re budgeting for your drinks, this is an easy way to do it. It absolutely takes the stress away from worrying about your end of cruise statement. I did pretty well - I had about $2.90 left on my card which was credited to my account. Of course, weโ€™re all different and you might not agree, but it worked especially well for me.
  12. Our hotel is about a 15 min. walk from AF House. Thinking we can store it until check-in time. I'll factor in an additional hour. 1:00 pm for AFH 3:00 for Canal Tour Workable?
  13. You can ask for a taxi van You can purchase the bev card (yes, it's an actual card) up until 3 days before you cruise and it will be refunded if you cancel. You will find it in your cabin upon embarkation.
  14. Perhaps an odd question. One of my favourite memories of Amsterdam when I visited as a small child was eating fresh herring dipped in onion from a street vendor. Please tell me this is still a thing? ๐Ÿ˜
  15. Question Our flight arrives @10:00. What is the earliest recommendation for booking the canal tour and Anne Frank house?
  16. Yes, I have arrived at the Port with a last minute cabin change. Always have been very happy with my GTY cabin. We had the wrong luggage delivered to the cabin, but a call to the front desk, and it was all corrected expeditiously! we have also arrived at the port with no cabin assigned yet, and the porters would have our name on a list and make up a luggage tag for us right bon the spot.
  17. I would recommend pre-paying and pre-buying a beverage card. I bought one for myself, and between happy hour and a glass of wine with dinner, I was good. Probably spent about $15-20/day on average on the card (I'm a wine snob). I brought a contigo water container on board. Just filled it with ice from the ice bucket and water from the tap.
  18. Absolutely that is what weโ€™re planning on doing. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.
  19. The T.D. US $ Visa has Trip Interruption, Travel Accident, Delayed and Lost Baggage, Car Rental Collision/Loss, and Emergency Travel Assistance Insurances. But these insurance amounts are not nearly enough coverage, and we are looking for other insurance options. Our trip is ~$15,000 USD, so if I can save a couple of %points in fees, it'll likely pay for half of the additional insurance coverage I need to buy.
  20. Hello, We have an expensive cruise coming up soon. Would it be worthwhile for me to put that on a US credit card? How much would i be saving? The % for converting to USD? (I think that's about 3% IIRC)
  21. If my lottery ticket pays off, I'm going! Otherwise, I continue to live vicariously through our faithful bloggers!
  22. I don't agree. I used my TD card to book a cruise for Jan. 22. Had to cancel due to COVID. Got every penny back. I'm a satisfied customer. However, I also buy more insurance for comprehensive coverage. I'm likely over-insured, but I sleep well at night, knowing we covered for most anything that could happen on a trip.
  23. I did! Such a wonderful surprise! My fingers are crossed for you!
