  1. I had a booking in October that I paid the single supplement for.

When I was on the Encore in August, I added someone to the cruise.

The future cruise consultant said I needed to pay $5849 to add a companion to my suite , and that when the current cruise ended I would be refunded $2480 as I paid more than the regular fare due to the single supplement.

Got home and only got refunded $760 from Seabourn instead of the $2480.

What happened is the other $1700 went the the travel agency for commission.

At no time did the lady on Seabourn explain this.

The TA said she would take care of the situation.

I put the $5849 on Amex, so if it does not get resolved, I guess I’ll dispute the charge for the difference.

I have just received a letter telling me that due to the group on board,I have been credited 25% future cruise credit for the inconvenience that they have caused.

    I think this fair.

Senior staff on board listened and head office acted promptly.

I was on the same leg of that cruise. Got off on the 20th. Have not seen the 25% yet when I log in.

Looking at the Carnival website it states that OBC benefits are applicable for sailings through 31/07/2023

and that reservations must be made by 28/02/2023.

Is this OBC benefit something that is reviewed/renewed every August or is it going to disappear end of July?

They seem to renew it every year, but never guaranteed.

  4. I lost my partner of 30 years one year ago. Up until his death, we had taken 41 cruises. I will continue our journey by myself, but it takes a lot of legwork to not just pay double the rate. We were 5 stars on HAL, but I now am branching out. Cunard has certain promos where they have a solo cruising sale. Celebrity awhile back had no single supplement on certain cruises. Also Virgin has had promos for single sailors. Seabourn has a page for solo cruisers. Seabourn’ s single supplement is 1.5 on select sailings. Although its more expensive to begin with , when you add gratuities, drinks, etc on a HAL cruise at 200% sometimes is just slightly more that a HAL cruise. Again, it takes a lot of work, but I will continue the journey . I also on every cruise i have taken, put some money in the slots. What the heck ,  you never know. Not a lot. Never know when you might get a casino rate. Just go off a Princess cruise where I actually won a small amount instead of donating.

And yes, the first ones were more difficult than you can imagine, but it’s what we loved to do. I just put his passport next to mine and say let’s go.

I don’t think you can request this. Best to do your own laundry. If I need to do laundry on a cruise I do it myself as they wash and dry things with very hot water and very high heat. I don’t want all our clothes to shrink so I find it best if I do it myself.

The combination of shrinking clothes and endless eating are never good. LOL

Wesport - we are on that same cruise out of Barbados leaving on March 30th! Looking forward to meeting you. We're Jeff and Kathy from Charlotte, NC. This is our first time on Seabourn so we're curious what the experience is like. Just came off of a 22 day HAL cruise to Antarctica which was amazing. Actually, the ports more than the ship but we enjoyed the HAL Oosterdam. We really like Azamara and also have a Regent booked for this summer as well as looking at a Silversea for the Fall. We love cruising and wanted to compare some of the luxury lines. We too have not gotten our embarkation time so thanks for asking this question since we were wondering the same thing!

Hi Jeff and Kathy. Hopefully someone has sent in a referral coupon for you as this is your first seabourn cruise.  If not, I could do it and we possibly could both get a $250 OBC.  If you want to follow up, send me an email at   Wesport2   At    msn  dot   com.    I can send the form in with booking info for both of us. Worth a try.  Richard. If you have already done it , no. Worries.
