  1. You’re in BC though, right? Ontario doesn’t seem to be an issue so far. 🤞
  2. OP here with one last post about this. After a lot of time spent having my TA cancel my initial booking and me doing the Black Friday booking myself.... I received nothing from HA confirming anything. 40+ minutes online with a HA rep -> 30+ minutes on the phone with a different HA rep -> 10+ minutes with a HA supervisor -> No email verification of any kind that the booking actually exists for another 3+ hours. And then filling out a so-called required TA Transfer form that ends up being totally unnecessary.... It was a very long day. Just because you reach your destination, doesn't mean the journey has to be difficult.... (Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy🤪 )
  3. Ya did exactly that. Sent to HA, copied to my TA. My guess is that it takes so long for HA to do the paperwork transfer, we would have been past Final Payment by the time they did the transfer. Hence the “oral” request. 😆
  4. Exactly. And that is just what I trust mine to do moving forward. A good TA is priceless!
  5. Nancy, of course. Full disclosure. The fare I ending up booking (to get the CAN $500 saving) was a non-refundable deposit. Normally my TA never even considers those and didn’t realize that’s what I was seeing. She knows me well and knows I don’t book those fares. And normally I don’t. But we had FCDs and final payment is very soon. The “glitch” was on my end. 😁
  6. @dockman There was no HA “agent” doing any work at all in this case. All me. Everyone I dealt with at HA was extremely nice, but also extremely clueless. My TA and I have now figured out where the glitch was in her getting me the discount. Your stance might be valid in some situations, but not at all here.
  7. So funny. We’ve never tried it, but now that they’ve stopped the “ extra $7 charge” we’re going to do a Pinnacle Grill dinner just to get it. 😁
  8. Thanks. The 6+ hours saved me almost CAN$1300. The TA transfer got me CAN$350 in OBC. Totally worth it, but Holland America used to be SO much easier to deal with.
  9. The Pinnacle Grill lunch is so popular and so good, I'm surprised that HA hasn't smartened up and added lunches at the Tamarind (not the old school one which I actually wasn't a fan of) and at Canaletto. Extra income, right?
  10. Just venting folks... but after spending 6+ hours getting a great Black Friday deal that my TA could not get, I attempted to get the booking switched over to her. As final payment is due soon, we both knew time was of the essence. HA can take forever to transfer bookings (1st hand experience here), so she transferred me the necessary form and instructions and I filled it out and sent it to HA immediately. We have done this before. This was a few days ago. Last night at 9:56pm I received an email from HA stating that they could not transfer the booking. Initial Panic.. but knowing that Final Payment was soon, I was upset, but prepared for the worst news in that there probably wasn't enough time to do the transfer. Then the next lines of the email, too convoluted and confusing to share here..... said that my Travel Agent should contact them orally to allow the switch. Because they really don't want me to miss out on using my TA. Forwarded the email to her.... utter confusion on her end as the transfer form has always been "the way things are done with HA". But she called and now all is right with the world. The point of this post? If all she needed to do was call..... why on earth put us both through the hassle of the transfer form?
  11. CAN $148.50 for the dinner CAN $67.50 for the breakfast
  12. Has anyone substituted a Caesar Salad or another version of salad for the usual Pear Salad?
  13. We keep trying since they changed the concept. Haven't liked it yet. And believe me, we want to
  14. Totally agree with you @RuthC. We used to spend a lot of time late evenings at the Piano Bar. And I remember a HA cruise years ago where they had a 5:00pm BOGO Martini Happy Hour in the Piano Bar..... one of our best HA memories.
  15. @aring75 Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful "Live from"!! It is always so hard to find Princess MDR menus. You've been so very helpful. Safe trip home and thanks again.
  16. It's supposedly for new bookings only. If you cancel and rebook, will you be losing any perks?
  17. @Naismith you were definitely given the wrong info. Just booked yesterday without the HIA and we have Free Gratuities.
  18. Were you able to reserve the two restaurants when you first got onboard? Do you happen to remember which days each one was open?
  19. One of the reasons the whole think took so long is my TA could not get the same discounted price that I got online. So I had to book it and now go through the hassle of transferring it to her.
  20. Just to explain further..... as much as the HA website is ridiculously inept...... I rebooked today with the Black Friday sale and saved almost CAN$500 on my cruise and over CAN$ 800 in Crew Appreciation costs. It just took me about six hours to make it all work......
  21. Ok ..... an update from someone who has "lived" this Black Friday....😅 Long story longer (as my children would say).... my GOD !! Holland America has the nicest people working for the worst website I have ever seen. That pretty much sums it up. And I am a somewhat long time Holland America cruiser and a relatively long time Cruise Critic member. I'll post more later, but seriously HA..... do better!!!
  22. OP here. Sorry they don't work for everyone. I just clicked on both and they work for me. But @RSWBADGER has posted the same menus on this thread, so that should solve the issue.
  23. 😔 Back to the old menu … but I am really liking the “throwback” option. https://moapp-navigator.hollandamerica.com/ds-public/api/anchor/api/content/eu/menu/3ffd56ade92746be86defe8d20100deb/8d5432bb460553e0875a18e705fe17b0_heritage_menu_format_8.pdf?download=inline
