I just read a review for FOS cruise on March 7, 2014 on a different cruise review site.
The reviewer mentioned being disappointed in JRs because of a menu change and no dancing waiters.
Has anyone experienced this recently?
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for your amazing informational review. You hit the nail on the head several times
Just a little revision: TRASH comes in all colors, lol!
I don't know how many people have complained about the lack of staff at the pizza area . MANY MANY MANY! I'm beginning to think they do it on purpose. Give 'em heck and hope they listen. (Don't hold your breath) LOL!

This is our review of the Glory cruise out of Miami. Seven day cruise to Western Carribean. Ports of call: day 1, at sea. Day 2, Cayman Islands. Day 3, Cozumel. Day 4, Belize. Day 5, Roatan. Day 6, at sea. Day 7, home.

OK, and the review is where?

I really feel your frustration over "what I want" and "what I can afford.
For me "what I can afford always wins". If it puts me in a monetary bind when I return it would ruin part of trip for me.
I know it's not a fun thought but if it were me and I was so very anxious to go to the Caribbean I would rather put the trip off until I have saved enough $ to do the trip I really wanted. Prbably not what you want to hear but just a thought

Stupid question but is the mdr breakfast an extra fee and need reservations?
thanks
michael
No such thing as a stupid question. No extra dining fee, no reservations needed.
Enjoy!

A few times I have ordered more than one entree to save the server time and if I am pretty sure I can eat most of both or won't like one. I don't like to waste food but that's just a suggestion.

I really liked the location (Dream). Great overview of the Lido deck and a short walk to buffet area stairs without going thru the pool area.
We did hear a bit of music from the balcony. Would book it again.
-
The deck just below the Lido and located near the central elevators should be ok IF you line up your desired with the stairs. We did this on another ship and had no noise. On the other had deck 7 is between passengeer cabins and this is preferred for most passengers for a quiet room.
Liberty has great reviews! Have fun!

Has anyone seen on the current news about a cruise ship that has broken down in the Caribbean/Gulf? It was on the tv news just a few minutes ago but didn't get to see or hear most of it so don't know any details or what cruiseline, etc.
-
First off, it was a grossly inaccurate statement regarding the company; the kind of scuttlebutt that can contribute to a dip in stock prices.
Secondly, most of us that got lucky enough to win the randomly awarded cruises have been the subject of some pretty personal attacks on these boards, to the point those threads have been deleted.
Sorry, don't agree with your fundamentals or post.
We too won a free cruise. I read the cc ALL THE TIME and never saw or felt attacked and NEVER personally. Sorry if you did.

Thank you for your review. Good information and to the point . Glad to know the Glory has some of the new 2.0 updates. Their itinery including Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay is on my bucket list now thanks to you.!!!!
-
Gee, would it make you feel better if we just cancelled the cruise we won....and therefore not spent money on drinks...or photos...or gifts...or the steakhouse...or the coffee bar...and the tips for the employees?
And the folks who opted to bring extra guests who paid full price for them who would also spend money? Should they just call and cancel?
Would that turn that elitist frown upside down?
First off, this particular run of offers that has upset you and others only appeared late this winter and would not have been included in this most recent bottom line.
The prices of food and oil, two major components of most of our lives, continue to escalate. Think those increased expenses might have something to do with the losses?
Kinda sarcastic answer don't ya think? It was only an opinion and observation type of question.

Please don't forget the pictures!!!!!

My concern is not so much the lack of tablecloths but a sanitary question. I've seen this in dozens of restaurants and question the cleanliness. When the tables are wiped (washed off), how clean is the cloth used and how many tables are wiped with it before washing or changing to a new one.
Our favorite restaurant (with bare tables) has a squirt bottle with some type of disinfectant (or other solution) they use to spray the table and then wipe off with paper towels which are immediatly discarded. With the chance of Noro and some people not disinfecting their hands before eating there seems to be a better chance of contamimation. Just my opinion.

We have been on eight cruise in the past eight years. We have sailed from the last of Oct. to the last of Nov. Only one cruise was going to change our itinerary because of weather but was cleared the next day to the original.
We have had a few ROCKY days/night due to weather but nothing serious or dangerous. In fact our first cruise to Alaska in September was VERY ROCKY.
I don't worry much because the captains and their cruise line are so careful to where they sail.

Sadly, that is the way it has become around here. It really doesnt matter what you post anymore, someone will try to turn it into an argument.
Thank you!, Yes, I know too well. I've read these forums for over five years and may have contributed a few negatives myself. Sorry. I must be in a touchy mood today but I felt the need to confront the obvious. Didn't mean to start a firestorm with this question. Discussions regarding the question I understand.

Sorry about the above. My stream of conciousness got way off track.
LOL! Forgiven! (If you notice from above you are NOT alone!
-
Not worth the show.
Thank you for answering my QUESTION.
-
IMO all the whinges about service and services going down on cruise ships these days is because people expect to get something for nothing or very little! Sorry to sound harsh and I am sure I will get flamed - but a cruise is still a very economical way to travel and if prices get pushed too far down then the whole product will suffer. You pay a good price and you get a good service.
Be careful what you wish for. You buy cheap you pay twice.
Or is that just me?
This was JUST A QUESTION regarding the cover at JR. Why do people get so self defensive and start lecturing? This wasn't ment to be argumentative. JUST A QUESTION. Just sayin'>
-
It's six bucks for all you can eat !!:eek: How much do you pay when you go to Furrs or Golden Corral ? Twice as much.
We have lunch once a week (senior prices) at Golden Corral. We pay just over $15 for both of us including EVERYTING (drinks too).
This just a question NOT A complaint!!! Just sayin".
-
Does $1 make any difference?
Was that my question?????? Just sayin'.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they did, they seem to be nickel and diming away lately . But does $1 really make a difference in the scheme or things?!
The extra dollar wasn't the point. It was just a question. Just sayin".
-
I just read from a cc poster that they were charged $5.95 for Johnny Rockets cover on their last weeks cruise on the Liberty of the Seas. Is this true on this or any other RC ships with JR? Thanks!
-
I agree, save the $3000. FOS is our favorite ship. We will be doing our 10th cruise in Nov. and always go on a different ship. But this Nov we will be back on FOS as they are moving next year and i couldn't bear not going on her again. We are both a young 70 but your type of enjoyment sounds like ours.
I might suggest making Allure a future cruise as doing her first might make it hard to be awd by FOS and I promise you will be. Happy sailing!
