  1. We were in front of #4 or #5 before you get to the pirate bar. Yes, you can hear the music outside and in the water. We are 70 and wasn't too bad. GO EARLY for chairs, we waited and never two together. It was close to bathrooms and bbq lunch area so convenient in that respect. LOVED LOVED this place but alot of walking for us.

  2. And I thought we were the only ones that happened to. The same situation happened to us on RC, Carnival and Hal. Not all the time but enough to notice. We also left out our "cruizin" card out to help the stewards so they wouldn't disturb us when we were in the cabin. No, matter. If they came while were in we went onto the balcony until they indicated they were done. I do realize not everyone has one so for them would be more inconvenient. We very rarey seem our steward anymore or just in passing on occasion. I think they may all have changed their cleaning pattern due to the wxtra cabins they now have.

  3. I have never sailed on the Conquest so can't help you there. However, I think the itinerary is one of the best. The beaches at Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk are wonderful. We were there several weeks ago for the first time and I can hardly wait to go back. St Thomas is beautiful as we did a tour of the island. Didn't do the beaches but they are highly rated. San Juan was a total surprise for me. We docked right in town and took the FREE bus located just across the street (ask) and it took us up and around both forts where you can get off to explore and get back on for a short tour and return to ship area. It was very beautiful. (We actually stayed on the bus and did it again.)

If you are on a budget the Intercontinental might be a little steep (over $200 per night.) Try googing "Miami hotels w/cruiseport and airport transportation". Sorry, I have no first hand knowledge as I have never stayed there.

We aso have a cruise that late in the year. It will be a long wait but worth it. Have fun!

  4. I have booked a cruise for Nov. 30,2014 the weekend folowing Thanksgiving Our route would be Indianaolis/Orland round trip. Have I made a mistake booking this time of year? Or will booking as early as possible help regarding pricing for flights? Could anyne share what they experienced this year? Do prices near holidays go up the closer it gets or do they start out high? Thanks so much!

  5. I booked our Nov. 2014 online during the WOW sale thru RC. The only documentation I got in my e-mail was the Reservation Summary.with basic information such as our name, cruise date, ship name , etc. . Where is the information about the cruise cost, deposit credit:D, due date and itinerary, etc?

I logged in with RC and we are on the books but found nothing on how to get these documents. Can someone help. This will be our third RC cruise and always were e-mailed relative information.

  6. We just cruised on the Niuew Amsterdam and the doors must have had an adjustment on them that prevented them from slaming as it would slow down before quietly closing itself. It just might be Carnivals lack of attention that the doors aren't adjusted correctly. Even our storm/screen doors at home can be set that way. Just sayin". I know I read this complaint all the time. Might be a question/suggestion to JohnHeald.

  7. I just booked a cruise for Nov. 30, 2014 on FOS but it was NOT included in the WOW sale. I'm disappointed as I hoped for onboard credit and reduced deposit.

I could have booked the same CRUISE on a DOT COM site and received free gratuities worth amost $200, but since I always book thru the cruiseline so I can access any information I was kinda hesitant. What are your opinions?

However, I did get the price I wanted and the perfect balcony location plus they will be putting up Christmas decorations that we have never seen.

The only thing that worries me now is the price of airfair one or two days after Thanksgiving. I hope booking flight very early will help.

  8. Flights on Sat/Sun are the highest. If I would have agreed to fly back Monday I would have been much better off. I would start watching at issue date (about 11 months out?) and book as soon as you see something you can live with.

One reason we chose Oasis for next year is it gives us more options. We can fly home Sat OR Sun and allows me to pick more flights. Sunday is by far the most expensive of them all. If you can fly in Fri night or Sat you will find better prices! Plus, Sunday can be chaos at the airport. We've been super lucky to have ontime flights and no weather issues but as the day goes on, you can see how busy the airports are!

Thank you!!. We have no problem leaving a day or two early but since Thanksgiving is on Thursday and we need to be in Orlando no later than Sat. I'm hoping for Fri. or Sat to fly out of Indy. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

  9. Thanks for the wonderful review!

I do have a question as to flight prices at Thanksgiving and just booked a cruise for Nov. 30,2014 which will mean we will be flying to the port area 4 days after Thanksgiving. (Indianapolis to Orlando)

I see you drove a bit to save on flight prices (we won't do that), but compared to non holidays were the prices much higher?. I plan to book LONG before than hoping that will help. So what do you think?

    Thanks so much!
