Deck 7 can be a bit frustrating if one exits the aft elevator on the incorrect side.  Here’s a thread with pic.

Does your daughter want to swap to a different cabin in the same category before they all disappear? I selected 8.

I dont' think she cares but will check with her. I have been on deck 8 before and agree with you.

My bids are pending as well.  We are booked in a Boardwalk balcony now.  We are fine with that, but certainly would be happy to snag an upgrade.  From what category are you starting? I have not seen an RoyalUp successes mentioned on the roll call last I checked.  There seem to be a wide bar of cabins available to book, leading me to believe RoyalUp has not completed it’s work.  I believe Biker’s post slides to the fact that if we get “sorry” emails they will come late in the process.  Acceptances can happen anytime.

Our daughter this morning got a royal up from Boardwalk to Ocean mid ship deck 7 for $4o per person.

I put in a bid for a Junior suite still pending

  6. Hi All

Just received my email from NCL that my offer for an upgrade from inside to Balcony was not good enough this go around.

I received a CAS offer for a so called free inside cabin ( minor admin. fee) and put in a upgrade bid of $235 per person.

We have been on 37 cruises in all types of cabins. so we will look forward to an inside this go around it has always been fine in the past . we are fortunate that we now will have an extra $470 to spend in another way.

Good luck to all of you still waiting for your cruise.

This offer was in the good range for the Getaway this Sunday

  7. I cruise 3 times a year and play craps. Going on a cruise on the getaway the 18th because of a free cruise thru total rewards in vegas. I normally always see $5.00 minimums on the craps games at sea. I don't spend a lot of times on the tables on cruises because I don't like the table rules at sea. low odds bet. and paying up front on buying a 4 or 10. when I play I will normally place the point for the dealers because it pays them better than a straight up pass line bet. 4 or 10 pay 9 to 5, 5 or 9 pay 7-5 and 6 or 8 pay 7-6 a straight pass bet pays 5-5.

  8. Did walk off and was thru customs by 735am. Uber to FLL .I’ll be home on the couch by 1pm . While most people wouldn’t risk the early flight , I’ve done it the last 6-7 times while traveling solo. I wouldn’t do it if traveling with a group .

I have TSA PRE and was thru security and at my gate by 820am with a Coffee in hand .

Where do you get the Uber pick up when you get off the ship in Miami ? by the taxi pick up area ?

we will be doing this in two weeks

Thank you for your help !!

  9. We live in Minneapolis Minnesota have been on 37 cruises often we fly overnight day of the cruise

arrive Fort Lauderdale around 5am day of the cruise. never been a problem. We did it 2 weeks ago going to do it again in two weeks..

By flying in night before cruise it gives us options if we had to get a early am flight because of a problem. as far as weather we get plenty of snow and cold but they do forecast for that and can change flight if needed. We also have come in many times the day before and rented a room for $200 per night.

  10. We have been on 37 cruises gone in day before on about 1/2 of them and the other 1/2 day of.

We live in Minnesota take a midnight flight arrive in Florida about 5am and wait about 3 hours then go to the port.

I prefer traveling day of the cruise. we are able to have enough time to get a early am flight if we had too.

Next cruise will be this next Sunday.

  11. It might not hurt to call back when you get a little closer to the cruise date. If there are a lot of balconies we have seen the price to upgrade go down. With CAS, I once had an OceanView comped. I watched the prices and when the OVs (Cat OA) were within $20 per person of the cost of the basic balconies I called. They put me on hold and checked, came back and upgraded me for free. Of course, that was from OV to Balcony but the price gap could narrow from Inside to Balcony. It never hurts to call again;)

    I will call them

  13. Did you ask the CAS agent how much it would be to upgrade to balcony? It could be something like $260 or 270 each but it might be less. You could then pick out the balcony cabin you want and just cancel your bid.

Just give them a call and ask. Most of the CAS agents are super-nice about answering your questions. No obligation to buy that upgrade but that information might help you decide which way to go.

Also, If you purchase that upgrade it's possible they would send you a new email giving you the chance to bid on the next two higher categories. From a balcony you could bid on Mini-suites and Suites/Havens.

To book the Balcony at time time I took the inside it was going to run extra $420 per person I said to her I think I will try the bid and see what happens. If we stay with the inside I we be ok with that since it our total was only $140 admin charge and $160 port and taxes per person. If they except my offer it will total $1110 for two in balcony with dinner package included..

  14. Just booked A cruise on Tuesday received the upgrade notice today. We were given a complementary cruise for two inside cabin on the Getaway from the casino group so I put a bid in for Balcony of $255 per person this was in the good range. Is that a fair offer do you think ? If that bid is accepted can you then bid on a higher category ?

This is only our 4th cruise with NCL they did not have this program before. Our total cruises are 37 with other lines.

Thank you for your input !!

  15. This may cause me to get flamed but oh well...Why is it that all of you think that it is ok to hold a cruise line up for money because the ***** will not be available on your cruise?? The ***** or lack thereof truly has no impact on whether or not you will enjoy your cruise...I'm a techie and would like to try the new technologies the ***** provides, but to insist that the cruise line give me money because it is not going to be on my cruise is extortion plain and simple

I tend to agree with this previous post. I am booked on the Regal for January 21st and have not asked for any extra on board credit.. When I agree to a price for a cruise and was happy with that price I do not look to change that price for something that will not at all effect my cruise experience.

I believe in being honest all the time and being honest this change will not effect my cruise at all.

Hope you all enjoy spending your new found OBC.

  16. Have done many slots pulls in the past and came up with this different event that has been more fun and something different. Going on the equinox this friday and this is what we will be doing after our connections gathering.

I am sure many of you have done a slot pull. This is something different

I came up with this idea a while back have done it a few times now and is much more fun than the slot pull. We also last two times gotten back $25 to $35 for our $15 investment.

We will plan to do this following the Connections Party. ( Most likely first sea day) I would have the table reserved for our group

gather in the Casino pay the $15.00 at that time then buy our chips

as a group. then in turn place the bets.

I would have it set up ahead of time with the casino host. And normally get

prizes from them to raffle off. ( possibly drink tickets shirts or whatever

I can get them to contribute).

    Roulette possibilities

Total entry fee $15.00 x 30 people or however many we have play =$450.00

    return would be

30 spins 5 numbers each time = 150 Numbers picked

0 numbers hit you lose everything

    5 numbers hit return $525.00 By 30 = $17.50 each

    10 numbers hit return $1050.00 by 30 = $35.00 each

    15 numbers hit return $1,575.00 by 30 = $52.50 each

And so on could be a lot of fun something different for most of us

Any other questions we will get them taken care of ask on.

    Roulette

On a roulette table they can make a chip equal any dollar amount you choose

so in that case we would make each chip equal $3

Each person would have 5 chips to pick numbers they want to use

5 different numbers or all on one number if they choose

all on one number. would pay back $525.00 if that number hit. (No side or group bets only straight up numbers)
