  1. I agree, I'd be livid too. The scenario I imagined (completely my imagination) is the cruise was 10 days, they sold X passes to folks that booked the 10 day version. Then it got changed to 7 days and for some reason, they restarted the Vibe counter at 0, losing track of the people who'd already bought passes. Pure speculation - I don't even know if it ever was a 10 day cruise.
  2. I did this through NCL. It's an Allen Marine boat with a capacity of about 150 people that goes much further up the Arm than the cruise ship goes. It was worth every penny - if it's offered, do it! 🙂
  3. We're doing a similar itinerary in July. My research on Skyolden/Sognefjord so far indicates there isn't a whole lot there. Very small town. We're probably going to book a RIB tour there. If you haven't done so, I'd suggest spending some time in this thread over in the Northern Europe and Baltic Sea ports of call forum (there is a lot in that thread, but, it really is loaded with information):
  4. We are contemplating booking Sky Princess for a Norwegian Fjords cruise. Being new to Princess I think I'd like to choose my room now, but there are not a lot of room choices left. One option is rooms like S220/225/227/231/301 on Deck 18 (sky). The question I have is what exactly is the space above those rooms? Some are actually under the Sky Suite but others are under what looks like open deck above the retreat pool. Is that space part of the Retreat (e.g. adult only)? Are there loungers up there that we are likely to hear being moved around in the early morning? S301 appears to be under Sky Suite S309, perhaps that might be the safest choice? Appreciate any feedback you more experienced Princess folks might have.
  5. Is the reason you refuse to provide the one piece of information that could explain all this because you really don't want to hear the correct explanation?
  6. Thanks. I really want to do Pulpit Rock, just not sure my wife can do it. So, it sounds like this excursion would be a good alternative.
  7. Oh, right. I missed that on this mornings. Add the tax and we get to the number OP posted.
  8. Wow, I just did it again and it did indeed go down about $500.
  9. Interesting I did this mock booking yesterday and came out with the $3449.18, just like the OP stated. Did the price just drop another $500?
  10. Instead of the response above to @SeaShark, why don't you respond to his specific point (and I agree it is THE point) and show us what package you initially booked your balcony under. Without seeing the full package, there is no way to compare.
  11. We're considering the "Cruise from Stavanger to Lysefjord" - Have you done that before and liked it? Recommend it?
  12. I have no idea what "platinum" has to do with anything and who is waiting for your credit card? Why don't you post the relevant part of your invoice?
  13. Except we don't know what he paid for the cabin he currently has. That is equally important in this equation.
  14. There were only 2 ships at Havensight on Dec 21st when Viva was at Crown Bay.
  15. Not so fast. The Dec 15 sailing of Viva docked in Crown Bay. While I *think* Havensight is what NCL mostly uses, you can't count on it always. Personally, I don't think it matters. You can walk to downtown from Havensight, but, St. Thomas downtown has really gone downhill to the point where we have no reason to go there. That would be the only advantage I can think of.
  16. What you are saying certainly is plausible. But damn, I do hope you are wrong. When you think about it, I suppose when I changed from balcony to club balcony, I eliminated someone from doing an upgrade to club balcony. Of course, I opened up a balcony for upgrading, but that would likely result in less revenue.
  17. Why do you feel the need to insult shoe leather like that? 😉 As the guy who threw that 10PM number out there, I acknowledge it probably isn't 10PM. But, I thought for sure I'd seen 10PM listed somewhere, but I can't find it on any of the paperwork I kept. The only place it might have been is the Vibe "welcome letter" which I didn't keep.
  18. I obviously haven't looked at your specific cruise but others I looked at, the cabana cost about $100 more than the 2 passes that are included. In my opinion, the extra $100 wouldn't keep me out of the Vibe.
  19. I don't understand why you are looking at the upgrade bid site. That should have nothing to do with what I think you are trying to do. If I understand correctly, you have found that the listed price for a club balcony is now only $50 more than you paid for your regular balcony. I know my TA had no problem moving my booking from balcony to club balcony (and it was after final payment, just as you are).
  20. I don't know about an "upgrade" per se - I would just change the booking. When I was in this situation, after final payment, a club balcony was about $50 more than I had paid for my balcony. So I called my TA and had them change the booking to the club balcony, told them which stateroom I wanted and I paid the $50 difference. Easy.
  21. RCCL thinks it's worthwhile, they actually swipe cards to record to your room when you take and when you give back.
  22. But it only takes one port day to realize the sign-out list is a farce. You may indeed sign out towels but no one is signing it back in when you get back to the ship and are told to throw your towels into the big bin.
  23. I do not know for sure. I do know that I have seen Vibe's hot tubs open later than the bar on multiple different ships.
  24. You aren't wrong here. And yet good hotels manage to get you warm food. Yes, not all hotels, in fact most don't, but good ones do. If NCL wanted to get you warm room service meals, it could be done. They chose not to.
  25. What you've described here seems perfect for Vibe. Using my recent Viva experience: Bar and service open till 7PM Hot tubs open till 10 PM We loved going there after returning from port Don't recall exact time Vibe opened in morning but we ate our breakfast in Vibe a couple mornings (because it located close to the ridiculously small buffet on the Viva).
