  1. Right, Dockers is a sub brand of Levi Strauss. In addition to the aforementioned "chinos" or "khakis" they make shoes, belts, and other forms of what is often referred to as "business casual" apparel.
  2. a 12oz cup with some ice would be a reasonable "small". My last cruise on the Bliss in 2018, they were using 10oz cups that they would fill to the brim with ice. You'd be luck if you got 5 oz of soda, as witnessed when one can was used to fill two drinks and the bartender didn't throw the can away indicating there was still more soda in it. (Yes, I could ask them to no put so much ice and did so when I remembered)
  3. I think most of us are more concerned about you coming for coffee in your undies than about your sailor mouth 🙂 🙂😉
  4. I think if you understand NCLs target demographic, there are far more unvaccinated who want to return to cruising than there is vaccinated but reluctant. Your proposal might make sense for a high end line but not a low end line like NCL.
  5. Now those are fighting words right there...
  6. It really just $50 off the first passenger. I suppose if both passengers go on the same tour it's effectively $25 pp, but, formally it's $50 off the first.
  7. It really isn't different in the specific context here (reminder: I replied to the comment about "Americans are suckers for a good scam, bottled water being one of the largest"). I suspect the people of Flint were told many times that the water was safe. Turns out it wasn't. At my home, I have confidence in the water system but when I am elsewhere not so much. I take exception to being referred to as scammed because I choose to drink bottled water when not at my home.
  8. Whether that picture causes "alarm" is up to the reader. I look at that picture as informational and a reminder that you really don't know where your water has been before it comes out the tap.
  9. Yeah, particularly those folks in Flint MI. They're real suckers.
  10. Then someone ought to tell NCL that next time they advertise including "free prepaid gratuities" in the FAS offers. The DSC is a gratuity when it helps their marketing but a service charge any other time. Typical BS from NCL.
  11. you might want to read more carefully, UKStages said the same thing, not the opposite. Ownership of property is irrelevant in this discussion of industry standard practices.
  12. I think many if not most kids that drink soda would easily consume 4+ sodas per day. Especially when you factor in just how ridiculously small they are.
  13. I'm sure this is part of the problem. I think it's well understood that similar requirements impacted similar businesses in the US. While staffing a new ship doesn't help, this isn't the first time they've added a ship and they didn't have these problem with the other ships because of the new one.
  14. We've never dined outside at the specialty restaurants on NCL or any of the other lines. You sound as if you've done it before. Has wind ever been a problem? Do you tend to eat early or late?
  15. I can only imagine what you think of me, someone on this side of the pond, who hasn't been in a movie theatre in at least 10 years (probably more like 15-20 since my daughter was very young) and no I don't have any streaming service to watch movies either. I just don't care to watch movies, I don't care about Oscars and the only reason I know about "the slap" was because there was no way to not see the coverage of it around here when it happened.
  16. If "in this regards" refers to my comparison to the airlines and US regulations imposed on them, I'll remind you that the majority of airlines doing business in the United States are foreign entities and they are beholden to US regulations. Look - I'm not saying the cruise lines are or should be regulated like airlines. I was just explaining one reason airlines are much more interested in avoiding IDBs than cruise lines are.
  17. Daniels? Say it ain't so... Please don't ruin an otherwise decent bourbon that way... 😉 🙂
  18. I assume everything spent above the cruise fare is considered on board spend in the context of this article (maybe they exclude excursions). So, yes, the onboard should have dropped like a rock. I assume they are building it back up by upselling the drink packages, extra dining, extra internet, paying for various activities, etc.
  19. In other words, there will be a renewed focus on nickel and diming their guests. My prediction: We'll need to start paying to see the very fine entertainment NCL is getting a reputation for.
  20. It should mean something. If not, get rid of the "loyalty" program because then clearly there is no loyalty. Exactly. Well that's a helluva a way to run a business. That's what the airlines do in an oversold situation. The difference is, government regulations are much harder on the airlines for Involuntary Denied Boarding (IDB) than cruise lines. So the airlines have incentive to avoid IDBs. I can't imagine we'd ever see such regulations for cruise lines.
  21. My more recent experience has been that the waiter or someone will confirm that you are celebrating something before they bring anything out. It is at that point you can simply ask them not to make any fuss.
  22. Thing I hate that many love: Hot tubs. Hate them anywhere except a private residence. In my opinion they are nothing more than heated petri dishes. I love the fitness centers - early mornings when they open. I workout daily and enjoy getting to try a different gym for free.
  23. Ugh... Not what I want to hear, I hope this is not the case when I cruise in November. Ugh again. Not looking good for Cagneys. Maybe there's hope. Regardless, I'll be eating there in November. I hate this in land based restaurants too, it's so very tacky in my opinion. Bring over a birthday cake if you must, but absolutely no singing. (I'm pretty sure I've told the waiters on the ship "no signing" when they asked about something we were celebrating and they have always respected it) That's too bad - dueling pianos is all about the entertainers and their personalities, how well they play off each other and the audience. I like dueling pianos on land and sea - the one time I saw them on NCL (Getaway I think?) there were three entertainers and they were among the best we've seen anywhere. Late in the evening, other cruise ship entertainers started joining them and it just got better. That all being said, we've also walked out of more than a few dueling piano bars where after about 30 minutes it was clear it wasn't good and not likely to get any better.
  24. This is really what it comes down to. While I agree that there is plenty of money in many pockets, I wonder if there is plenty of money in enough pockets.
