We are off on our first carnival cruise next week. We are on the Sensation for 4 days visiting Freeport and Nassau.

 

Just a couple of questions:

 

I have read about a soda card which can be purchased on board - where does this get us soda? I don't drink alcohol and am unsure as to whether this will get me soda in the bars or not?

 

Any recommendations for shore excursions in Nassau? We are a couple in our 30's. We were looking at the Balmoral beach trip - but it seems to get mixed reviews....

what do the negative reviews say? is it something bad enough that you cant overlook? or was it just a one time "bus was late' thing? sometimes people put down negative reviews because it wasn't what they expected. as long as you do some research this excursion should be fine

close to 10? we were the first ones there on our first cruise. we got dropped off which is better than parking ( you may have to wait in a line to be let in). on the ship before noon with out FTTF or VIP

sorry about the ruined surprise! you can order something from bon voyage and have it delivered to the cabin before you get there. bottle of alcohol or some decorations. a birthday cake surprise in the MDR, steakhouse reservation

thanks for the review. we sailed on the Miracle on the east coast.

and Carnival offers a free bottle of wine in the steak house on the first night. that's why many people book that night

our local MVA gives you a replacement that same day. call yours tomorrow and ask

we are probably in the minority. we do not love the steak house. we have gone a few times but I doubt we will again. we really like the MDR enough to go every night

any time on a ship is my favorite time! :)

if we sail with friends, we sit with them. If we sail just the 2 of us, we will sit with others

the 2 times I have seen the quest were on the Pride with Kirk as the CD

I participated in this on the Freedom in March. I started to take a few pics and staff started screaming at me that cameras weren't allowed. Has this happened to anyone else before??

I would do a Liberty cruise. we did the western this summer and loved it. we are doing the fantasy in December to the Bahamas (eh)

we are saving up for an Alaska cruise for 2015! very expensive!
