This thread is a perfect testament to how archaic the whole tipping culture is. Employers should pay their employees. Customers should pay for the product the company provides. That would stop these endless threads. Of course, that would probably lead to service like I've encountered in London where servers come around when they get around to it.

In Port Everglades the porters are sure not shy about bringing up the subject of tipping. One told me about how he was going to get my luggage all the way right to my cabin.🙄

I go if it is on an O class ship as it is usually in the Aqua Theater and they do a dive show. On V/F class ships I go if it is in Studio B as they usually do a short ice show. If Mario is aboard I dread having to listen to him, once again, tell everyone why he loves RCI. As for the drinks, I'm not sure they have any alcohol in them. So if they are your reason for going...

RCI is well aware that they can get away with doing whatever they choose when it comes to this issue as its customers tend to be very sympathetic toward the crew.

There is a sketchy area in Bermuda? Or are you talking about the embarkation Port? From my experience Bermuda doesn't have a sketchy area. If it does I didn't see it.

Very different experience at a "true" zoo these days. They try very hard to replicate the native environment of the animal. The cages are long gone.

I think the work you do is fantastic. Refuges and zoos serve very admirable purposes. We have a zoo in RI that provides a great environment for the animals. As best I can tell the animals seem well cared for and at peace. I fully understand the issue of animal ambassadors and feel they fill a very important role. I just don't know about some of these animal encounter places. They seen to have one purpose, to make money.

No idea how anyone can complain about the wash stations. I think they have been a great addition to the Windjammers. I much prefer soap and water to rubbing chemicals into my hands.

I think you will have a fine time aboard. If I were able to cruise in the Fall I'd be looking to get back on the ship. I did think there were some food quality issues in January but it all seemed resolved in April.

I'm surprised to read that. I was on Allure in Jan and April and thought the service was fine.
