Revamp of C&A tiers? Cruises getting expensive!
Ocean Boy replied to nolegirl01's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Because when you do cruise, no matter how frequently or infrequently that may be, RCI wants you to have incentive to book with them and not try the competition which you might find that you like better. Also, when the next recession or pandemic comes along RCI wants to make sure they have a supply of people who will be willing to help keep them afloat just like we did for the reopening.- 122 replies

freedom of the seas deck question
Ocean Boy replied to Pepperoni0120's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I've stayed on deck 2 on V/F class ships. What would you like to know? -
Just Back from Oasis - Ask me anything!
Ocean Boy replied to chodnett's topic in Royal Caribbean International
That is interesting. When I was on Odyssey in February my attendant asked me if I wanted AM or PM. I told him AM and the earlier the better. He was happy to have a cabin that he knew he could start with and not have to worry about people sleeping. Honestly, in your case I would have seriously considered adjusting the stewards gratuities. I don't know why the Bahamas enforces the casino and shop rules at CC. It isn't as if it has any impact on local spending like when a ship is in a regular port. Maybe RCI would have to collect and pay taxes from sales to the Bahamas. -
Just Back from Oasis - Ask me anything!
Ocean Boy replied to chodnett's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Did Oasis stay tied up at the pier overnight or did the ship float around and then dock for the second day? I've never had a cabin attendant with that type of attitude. How was he the rest of the week? -

Missing Passenger from Icon of the Seas (Cozumel)

I've seen people with dementia who manage pretty well at home and for some reason end up having to be hospitalized completely decompensate. Change of familiar environment is no joke for folks with dementia. -
Personally, I would do a 10 AM flight and would not even be stressed out about it. Yes, sometimes things go wrong but most of the time they don't. We all have our own level of risk tolerance. I would also mention that since Port Everglades instituted facial recognition walking off the ship WITH YOUR LUGGAGE and getting out of the terminal and into a cab is a breeze. If you are travelling on a non U.S. passport then pay no attention to what I just wrote.

Oasis was refitted? The last time I was aboard the cabin doors still used magnetic strip technology. -

In fact, changing the environment of someone with dementia can really destabilize them. Taking them to a foreign country where nothing is familiar to them certainly has its risks. -

How do you know? Other than that the man is missing are you privy to some other facts? I appreciate the post that you question. I haven't been to Cozumel in years and I thought it seemed quite safe when I was there. I now know better and would be more vigilant should I find myself back there any time soon. -

Nassau seems to have a similar problem from what I've been reading. If I remember correctly, years ago St. Croix had an issue and when tourist income dropped off enough the island cleaned up its act.
