Yeah, adults should know better and they should also be parents to their kids. I was in the Solarium Bistro on Allure once when this kid picked up a piece of dessert with his hands, smelled it, then put it back. I'll complain about anyone doing such stuff and you won't be finding me on a river cruise.

Pier Runners on Icon of the seas.
Ocean Boy replied to granger's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I would be interested to know why, if the coast guard was willing to bring them out to the ship, the captain refused. I'm not judging the decision as I don't know the reasoning. However, I'd like to know the reasoning. -
Maximum Age Limits for Shore Excursions

Correct. That poster should not have used the word "never". However, the cruise lines are very good at strong arming tour operators into exclusive contracts. When a ship is in port they can only take cruise line passengers. One example is the Scenic Railway tour on St. Kitts and RCI charges quite a markup for it. The cruise lines are also very good at making sure shops that are cruise line recommended turn over the their share of any sale made to one of their passengers. -
Current Cruise Director (CD) List, starting 12-2021

I'm sure that anyone who is learning from Mike will be very competent. I don't think you could find a better CD for a role model. I remember CDs for two reasons. Either I thought they were great (a very short list) or I thought they were really annoying. Most of them have just faded into oblivion in my memory. Mike is a standout for all good reasons. -

Cats And Hydrangea PoisoningAccording to Pet Poison Hotline, cats will become poisoned by eating any part of the hydrangea plant. The toxic component of the hydrangea is called cyanogenic glycoside. The flowers, leaves, buds, and stalks all contain the poison, but the buds and leaves contain the most toxin.Apr 30, 2023

My family has a big connection with the navy also so I understand the connection with the ships and took every opportunity that I could to get aboard with my dad. A friend of mine was a corpman on Iowa when she was still in service. I had the opportunity to spend a day aboard with him. It was an amazing day that I'll never forget. That one day, and the things I got to do aboard that ship will live with me forever. I was so sad the day the accident happened. I'm happy that she is a museum and didn't get scrapped. I just wish she was here in New England. I would gladly volunteer time to her care.
