Thank you for the Saturday report, Rich. I'll celebrate all 3 of the days today and the Angelou quote rings true to me. I've been to Reykjavic several times, mostly Crystal Symphony but also Prinsendam. I think the lips are responding; it may just be force of will power but I did not feel the need for a lip balm between treatments yesterday. It's fairly warm but raining here today; tomorrow will be clear and cold. The next 10 days or so will mark our earliest sunsets; while the equinox is about 12/21 sunsets will soon start getting later while the latest sunrises will be about January 3=10. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Carrot and Orange Bisque, Ribbon Zucchini Risotto, and a Butterscotch Sundae as served on MS Prinsendam December 3, 2013. @StLouisCruisers I'm wondering why you're tendering. I've always docked at Manaus. Water levels perhaps, or was the Prinsedam the only BHB able to dock. Roy

Thank you for the TGIF Fleet Report and Daily, Rich. I'll pass on the Faux Fir and don't really see a lot of bartenders since I don't drink but will celebrate pollution prevention. I love the Riordan quote and have been to Lima several times, I think on the Crystal Symphony, Prinsendam, and Zaandam. The Pork Chops sound nice. My alternative is Apple and Pear Gazpacho, Grazed short ribs with roasted garlic cloves, and Key Lime and white chocolate tart as served on MS Prinsendam December 2, 2013. It's too early to tell but I think the new meds are helping. Went to the pharmacy between 4 and 5 and picked up the meds, an antibiotic and a topical cream. Took the first antibiotic pill and will aply the cream late this evening. Both are for 7 days and if they don't work she wants to refer me to a Dermatologist. Roy

I got an EXCELLENT upsale at a very reasonable price on my recent Eurodam cruise. I would have taken it except that I had specific plans for my cabin. Roy

Back from the Doctor's. She told me to stop what I am currently using and thinks it is a bacterial infection. She ordered 2 prescriptions which are currently listed by the pharmacy as "In Process". Depending on the timing when ready I'll pick them up either today or tomorrow. @kazu, a Newfoundland land trip sounds like a good idea, Not sure for you what flights would be like and perhaps the ferry would make some sense. Did you use the Volendam's tenders or rent local boats to go ashore. When I was there on the Prinsendam they used local boats to prevent damage to the tenders from floating debris. Also, were the Scouts there helping people up the ramp? Roy

I have a couple of intersecting issues. I posted about a month ago that I had an issue with inflamed lips and had seen the Doctor. He thought it was one of 2 issues and gave me a prescription for the one he thought most likely. It seemed to be helping for a few days but did not really and the lips were much worse by the time I got home. Turns out my Doctor is on vacation but I will see a colleague tomorrow. I also mentioned that my passport expires before my next cruise. There are now 2 options for renewal, either online or by mail. The online option is still a bit awkward but I finally did get through it. One thing that's required for either method is a photo, and that became a real hassle. I started with my UPS store and was able to get both versions but when I submitted online it was rejected for some technical reasons, and I was squinting some. I figured if I submitted by mail it would also be rejected and seriously delay the process Next I tried several pharmacies that claim to do passport photos (CVS and Walgreens) all failures. One got to the end of the process but aborted because they did not have a USB drive and could not put it on mine. Another said their camera was broken and yet another said flatly "We don't do digital" Yesterday morning I tried the local FEDEX office, finally with a success, and the application is submitted, but my old passport was invalidated immediately, so there's no international travel for at least 2 months. It would be nice to get away from our winter for a while but it won't happen this year. Unfortunately, those lips will ;dog me for as long as I have that passport. I don't think it's a good idea to post my actual passport photo but here's the one that was rejected. Roy
