  3. A blessed Good Friday to all who observe it. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Best wishes to @ger_77's friends Gord and Ollie, you are certainly a true friend to them. Wishing Dixie rapid healing. I'll pass on the Mermaid Day but celebrate the other 2 days, and the Capote quote is spot on. I've been to Nuuk twice, I think exactly 10 years apart, 9/9/06 on a Crystal Symphony transatlantic, and 9/9/16 on Crystal Serenity's Northwest Passage cruise. I saw the Terra Cotta Warriors in person in as a side trip on a Yangtze River cruise in 2001. They are amazing in person. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Pinnacle Caesar Salad, Petit Filet, and Baked Alaska as served in MS Zaandam's Pinnacle Grill March 29, 2017: One of the things I was looking for on my Wegmans run this morning was not to be found, so I had to find a substitute that I do not expect to like as well. Later this morning I got a phone message that the item was recalled due to contamination. I still have a couple servings of that item that will need to go in the trash. Roy
  4. AIS is apparently totally turned off. The destination I see from the last posting about a day ago is "For Orders" Roy
  5. Baltimore has been due for a break and it's a beautiful afternoon for baseball with no rain in sight and a 5-1 lead at the moment. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is from my first combination of cruises and the first time I did a live thread on Cruise Critic. It was Crystal Symphony Los Angeles to Sydney followed by a Queen Victoria World Cruise segment Bangkok to Dubai. On March 28, 2010, Queen Victoria was at sea from Phuket to Cochin: Roy

  8. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie for the next best thing to Friday report. A sad day with the death of Joe Lieberman, Rest in Peace. Three great days to celebrate and it appears hopeful that there will be a minimal rain interruption of the Orioles game today. I love the Hepburn quote. Not sure what test test is about but a great day in aviation history. I have not been to Zadar. The meal sounds like a nice starter. My alternative is Fruit Salad with Sambuca, Oven Roasted Chicken, and Strawberry Crisp as served pm MS Zaandam March 28, 2017: I was expecting rain this morning but it was very pleasant when I went our for my morning walk. Roy
  9. No such thing as a stupid question. Only thing that's stupid is not asking and making a mistake. Have a great cruise. Roy
  10. Today's maps, a bit of a challenge with bunching of a few ships: Roy
  11. Since the license was expired I wonder if the insurance could have been as well. Roy

  15. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie, and happy Hump Day. Red Cross is very deserving, my handwriting has always been more of a scribble, but I'll pass on Whisky Day. I like the Fred Allen quote. I visited Falmouth just once, in 2015, on the Elegant Explorer. St Augustine is an interesting city and I will especially celebrate a great day in medical history. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Strawberry-Banana-Blueberry, Thai Chicken and Forbidden Rice Soup, Boneless Lamb Loin, and Linzer Torte as served on MS Zaandam March 27, 2017: A drizzly morning in central Maryland but I did get my walk in. Maryland flags are at half mast until further notice in honor of the 6 souls lost yesterday. Roy
  16. The remaining 6 workers are now officially presumed dead. Rest in Peace. Roy
  17. A bit of good news, the construction worker reported in serious condition has been discharged from the hospital. Roy
  18. Today's sunrise is sort of from my 2019 Prinsendam Grand South America cruise. The cruise had ended by March 26 but this is from the Fort Lauderdale Amtrak station before boarding the train home: Roy

  20. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. As you can imagine, I've been very distracted and will not comment much on the regular things, but have not been to Saipan. I think I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, Spaghetti Amatriciana, and Rhubarb Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 26, 2017: Thank goodness the ship was able to radio a mayday and alert the highway authorities a bit before hitting the bridge. They think they were able to stop traffic before the collapse. They think now there were a maximum of 8 people on the bridge at the time, a crew repairing potholes. One uninjured, one in a trauma center, and 6 still missing. The situation looks grim but but the cold water may have been a benefit. There's a saying that you aren't dead until you're warm and dead. It's almost 12 hours now so hope is slim but a miracle may still be possible. Roy
  21. Our own @Lady Hudson frequently sails Vision of the Seas out of Baltimore, and she is stationed here year round. Roy
