  1. Thank you for the Sunday Daily, Rich. I like Chocolate but prefer Oatmeal Raisin. Maryland got a little ahead of the date and had a memorial for our slain officers earlier this week, Interesting quote today. I've not been to Taormina. I'll pass on the Slider and am uncertain about the meal; I would probably at least taste it. My alternative is Pineapple Boat, Rack of Lamb with with Tomato Couscous, and Garlic Pearls, and Black Forest Cake as served on MS Veendam May 15, 2016. 3. That camera was mounted on the then Hilton next to the 17th Street and the hotel is closed for renovations. The camera will be out of service for at least another 18 months. I wonder why QE is not leaving until 1AM. Roy
  4. While going through some documents I came up on another anniversary. It was 40 years ago today I passed my final exam to become a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Roy
  5. One year ago today was a good but not pleasant day. I was up very early and picked up before dawn to University of Maryland Hospital to go under the catheter (plus a couple of tubes down my throat). Just out of curiosity I went back to my return to cruise critic late in the day. I had just my IPAD mini so I didn't do a lot of typing. Roy

  9. Thank you for the Saturday Daily, Rich. I'll pass on dancing like a chicken. We gave a number of big fans of birds, both on the Daily and in my church. Windmills are very appropriate for a cruise line founded in Holland. I think there's a lot of truth in the Twain quote. Siint Maarten is a very popular port although I've frequently ended up at a berth next to an oil refinery. I think I'll pass on the fajita. My alternative is Chilled Pear, Cucumber, and Melon Gazpacho, Prime Rib of Beef au Jus, and Key Lime Pie as served on MS Veendam May 14, 2016. 19. Any cruise to Alaska shapes up to be wonderful and passing through the scenic Inside Passage adds a special touch: Bon Voyage to Zuiderdam - 7-Day Glacier Discovery: Travelight trueeden Bon Voyage Travelight and trueeden !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!! Roy (pinch-hitting for Jacqui)
  20. Is it possible to pay for cruise planner purchases with a gift card and if so how? When I went to my planner the only option for payment was a credit card with number, security code, and expiration date. It looks like the gift card will not have an expiration date. Am I missing something? Thanks Roy
  21. This will be a bit of a trial balloon, but I've been posting daily sunrise photos from my past travels on several other forums (HAL, Crystal, and Maryland cruisers) and wonder if that would be of interest here. Most will not be from Cunard ships, although it just happens that today's photo is. I sailed the Crystal Symphony to Antarctica in 2016, and rather than fly from Baltimore in winter, I chose to do a pair of Cunard transatlantics and fly from Miami instead (and do we really need an excuse for another transatlantic or two). It turned out to be a very wise decision as Baltimore was hit by 2 feet of snow July 15 on Queen Victoria was a sea day between Porto Delgada and Port Canaveral: Roy
