Just back from my county Health Department for a PCR test. It's too early a test for Royal's boarding but if the results but I want to do as much as possible to avoid being on board and then notified that I'm positive. I also have an Emed Binox-Now test that I will take tomorrow. The cruise is a B2B, first leg to Bermuda and the second one to Bar Harbor and Halifax. Both destinations involve extra steps. For Bermuda there is a Bermuda Travel Authorization. It's about done but still needs a negative Covid test which can be either a PCR test that can be given within 4 days of embarkation or an antigen test 2 days before embarkation. I will use the results of either the PCR or Binax test, whichever comes first. I will need the Binax test for Royal's requirements. For Canada there's an ArriveCan app. It requires a test within (I think) 3 days of embarkation. I hope that will be done on the ship. While my choices in cruising are Crystal (RIP), Hal, and Cunard I am also D+ on Royal, primarily due to cruises from Baltimore. It certainly helps to get double points as a solo. I generally work from a laptop and will only make one or 2 posts a day unless something immediate comes up. I do welcome your questions and comments, and will invite those on either leg of my itinerary to contribute as well. I have a companion blog Blog and will scan and post compasses here Compass when they are available. 2 more sleeps at home and one in a NJ hotel. Roy

Question for you. Does anything remain of Canaveral's old quonset hut cruise terminals or did they all get demolished for the new Carnival and RCI terminals? I got there just once on a 2015 Grandeur of the Seas port call. Roy

My next 2 sunrise involve Blount Small Ship Adventures cruises. Today's was taken on the way to the cruise, as I changed trains in Chicago on my Baltimore-Chicago-New Orleans journey. The photo was taken looking out from the Lake Michigan shore: Roy

Thank you for the Hump Day Daily, Rich. Three great days to celebrate. I love the Emerson quote. Have not been to Madagascar. The meal sounds interesting. My alternative is Chunky Jicama and Mango Salad, Rustic Home Made Lasagna, and Birthday cake (not mine) as served on MS Veendam May 18, 2016. Senior moment here. The hype seems to be all about the Royal Promenade and that was what I was thinking of when I made my comment. I definitely enjoyed Central Park. My Allure cruise was a transatlantic with a short segment first Rome to Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. For the Rome to Barcelona segment I had a balcony overlooking Central Park and really liked it. For the transatlantic I had a Balcony overlooking Boardwalk and enjoyed that as well, even having the perfect angle to watch sunrise from my balcony: Roy

I've sailed most of the classes of RCI ships from Empress to Monarch, Vision, and Radiance classes as well as Anthem and Allure. I have not sailed the two in between, I think it's Voyager and Freedom classes. Personally, I much prefer the Centrum idea to the Royal Promenade. Roy

Interesting thing about "reputation" I'm wondering if the info is up to date or somehow frozen in time. Roy- 13 replies

Thank you for the Tuesday Daily, Rich. Dinosaurs were great but glad I never met one in person. I'm trying to break out of being a pack rat. Hypertension is a deadly silent killer. The Fields quote sounds quite dark. I have not been to Montenegro. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Guanabana Soup, Oven Roasted Chicken, and Peach Crisp, supplemented by a Lido Barbecue as served on MS Veendam May 17, 2016.
