  1. That's true! Except we had the engines off and were towed into port by the Coast Guard. We were in the lobby and the elevators were crazy jumping from the seas.
  2. We had a pod fail in Alaska on the Mariner in 2006. We were delayed a day. It took a while to go to Dry Dock and it caused quite a few missed ports in following sailings until it was 100% again. I am doubting it will affect the October West Coast Sailings
  3. Also, on the Mariner - there are really no bad cabins other than the tub/shower cabins but location everywhere is good
  4. It's been a while but the port is close to Quincy Marketplace. It's touristy but we love it. There was a shuttle from the port. You can also take the Old Town Trolley and meet your friend at one of the stops and hop back on. They run every half hour or less
  5. We are Gold on Regent and stepped over to Oceania before we tried Crystal. Our first Luxury cruise was the inaugural Regent Mariner in 2001. We are heading back to Regent and will also probably try Seabourne/SilverSea and others. Regardless, the Cruising world is different so who knows what our expectations will be.
  6. When Regent went All Inclusive, we started cruising with Oceania because we wanted to tour on our own. We sailed another line for a while and are going back to try Regent and pay the premium on a cruise we will probably not avail ourselves of many (if any) tours. All tours from all lines are contracted pretty much by the same port side service companies with some customized for the line. What is somewhat surprising is the lack of response by a luxury cruise line when a tour was misrepresented. That speaks volumes to me.
