Thank you, I've never heard of ships not docking in the usual place at Cadiz so this is just the sort of information that is worth knowing. In fact, I've just checked which ships will be in certain ports on the same day as us so that we will be prepared and it appears that Arvia is the only ship due in Cadiz on our August cruise. I hope that it stays that way and that it berths in the usual place.

I absolutely second this, please keep posting as all the information you're providing is invaluable. We will be onboard in August with our biggest ever travelling party (7) so the more we know the better prepared we can be for whatever situation we find ourselves in. Hopefully we'll have minimal issues or none at all since (as @lindyloo22 states) we won't go looking for problems either.

I’m on my way to the office in London & as I was on a later than usual train decided decided to try catch the bus to save the £11 taxi fare. The bus was a no show then all the local taxis were on school runs so I’m now on another train 90 minutes later than my original booking. You’d think I lived in a rural location rather than on the outskirts of a major city.

Can we have a patented Zap guarantee for our Arvia cruise in August please? 😉 Actually no need because we’ll make the most of it regardless. Sure, I’ll call out things I don’t like (especially if I blog again) but we won’t let anything spoil our annual family holiday.

I’m so pleased for you & keeping my fingers crossed that everything remains settled for the rest of your cruise. I’m full of admiration for your resilience & especially that you have been able to not let it cloud all the good things that you are enjoying now. I would be exactly like you, more upset at the lack of resolution & being stood up for multiple appointments than the initial problem itself. Although I've never experienced one myself I've seen a few silent discos on Vlogs which are anything but (silent) due to passengers singing along!

What an awful experience, I genuinely feel really sad for you and hope that you can get back home quickly. Thanks for taking the time to share all of this as it's a clear warning regarding the suitability (or should that be unsuitably) of certain cabins on Arvia. No doubt you will be on the case with P&O in due course and I hope that they recompense you accordingly.

Thanks for a great review and also appreciated are the extra thoughts of others onboard. We’re really looking forward to our August cruise on Arvia and feel better prepared for what to expect. Based on everything we’ve read we’re planning to eat in the MDRs around 8pm most evening in the hope that any queues will have died down by then.

We’ll have the TV on most of the day tomorrow but we probably won’t sit down and watch the whole thing from start to finish. I’ll be hiding behind the sofa for Sky Sports Premier League broadcast at 3pm.

Hi Could anyone advise how much the My Wi-Fi Ultimate Package costs when purchased on board please? I can see that it is £18 per day when booked pre-cruise and wondered if it is the same on board. Thanks in advance. Damian

We're already counting down to our August cruise especially as it will be our first time back in the Mediterranean since 2018. This prompted us to make a classic P&O breakfast this morning. Happy Sunday all.

As well as a lot of the things already mentioned I’m looking forward to handing over the car keys in Southampton. That’s when I relax and the holiday truly starts.

Someone in our house has every sympathy having also been for his first groom since January (as they were fully booked for months)!

We’ve taken the plunge & booked a Ventura cruise to the Canaries for the August 2025 school holidays. Our son’s price had risen significantly & our agent explained that this is down to two factors: 1) We have booked a suite; 2) Child prices have risen in order to offset the number of “3rd & 4th cabin occupants travel free” offers (which of course only applies to certain cruises outside the school holidays). So same old, same old for us but the treat of having a suite to look forward to for the 2nd time ever after we had one booked for cancelled cruises in 2020, 2021 & 2022.

Sorry to hear this Graham but hope that you can take some inspiration from other hip replacement successes such as those that Craig Revel-Horwood has had in the past. When we self-disembarked P&O's Iona a year ago there were no checks on disembarkation times. It was early (around 8am) and shore side staff at Southampton were intercepting passengers who got off without any baggage. They were being made to sit in a holding area as all baggage hadn't yet been offloaded and the collection area wasn't ready.

Yes, I went back and re-read your post after @Rupert2251 referred me to it. I've been up for ages but not truly woken up yet! Can't wait for the new itineraries even if they are the usual ports for summer school holidays. Fingers crossed there is something appropriate for us that includes Civitavecchia as our son is keen to revisit the water polo club there. We'll just be happy with a good pizza for lunch!
