  1. Thanks Bonnie,

This was my comment in the CC review - "We generally received friendly service. The crew work very hard. Two in particular excelled and on the other hand two were memorable for their rudeness. "

As you can see my comment was not directed at specific areas on Journey. However I completed a questionnaire on behalf of Azamara following our cruise and was more specific.

  2. On 23rd June we joined the Journey for an Athens to Venice cruise, following a 5 year break from Azamara. We enjoyed our cruise, but did notice the difference. Not all to our liking.

As we had previously visited most of the ports we found DIY suited us. We had a brief encounter with a less than helpful or happy lady at the Land Discovery desk!

There have been a lot of criticisms written recently about Land Discoveries, which hopefully Azamara are 'taking onboard' !!

Next month we are back on Crystal. We have reserved an excursion, for which payment is taken when onboard. If I have this right, we can cancel up to 24 hours before the day.

  3. Hi mafig.

As you have previously cruised with Celebrity, I believe that any 'loyalty points' can be used with Azamara.

Also do read the current threads on here, where you will pick up tips on Land Discoveries and On Board Credit.

We always book the whole package through a Travel Agent. Any problems and they are there to help.

  4. Good morning Azamarajunkie!! We were on the Athens to Venice cruise in June!!

We do find anything to do with Azamara and the internet confusing and protracted.

Our TA kindly printed our Express passes as our broadband was intermittent at the time. We had previously provided online all necessary information required by Azamara and just needed these passes. Our TA was required to provide everything again before printing final documents!! I remarked on the amount of paper we had acquired re this cruise since booking. Later at home I counted 69 sheets!!! Needless to say all at the expense of our TA.

Next month we have a Crystal cruise booked. Hardly any paperwork and the necessary documents and labels were in a zipped case (iPad size) ready to collect from our TA.

Similar cruise to Azamara and not a great difference in price.

We always attach a folded copy of our itinerary with our mobile phone number in a tag to each suitcase. A copy is also placed INSIDE each suitcase!!

  5. We returned from the Journey on 3rd July, following a 10 night Greek Islands and Adriatic cruise. This was preceded by a one night stay at the Hilton in Athens. In the reception area was a dedicated help desk, where we obtained luggage labels. So much more professional than the DIY version! During the hotel to port coach transfer the escort explained labels would be available at the port too.

Prior to leaving home our TA printed our Guest Ticket Booklet, comprising 13 sheets of A4 showing itinerary, flight and hotel details, transfer vouchers and the dreaded origami luggage label!! This brought the total number of sheets of paper to 69 for one cruise.

Considering Azamara cruises are by no means cheap, a smoother more consistent online USA & UK experience would surely be preferable. Also Azamara should produce an acceptable folder containing all relevant documentation and luggage labels. At the moment the onus is on the TA or customer to do that for them.

Whilst onboard a short article in the daily Pursuits newspaper declared Azamara had listened to customer comments and would be offering two choices each of the complimentary red and white wine in addition to the usual Rosé choice. Hopefully they will review their provision of tickets and luggage labels soon.

  6. Personally, we like to see fellow cruisers looking as though they have made an effort with their appearance in the MDR.

As the rules are relaxed, there is always someone who wants to push the boundaries further.

We noticed this on Crystal too. Two years ago, Celebrity were beginning to relax their formal evening attire, which by now is possibly not required.

  7. We had difficulties with 'My Azamara' way back in 2009 and 2011, so were not surprised to have the same experience whilst attempting to book the Azamazing Evening for our June cruise. It does look as though it is booked, but feel reluctant to log in again. As the Land Discoveries are charged, it would seem logical to provide an easy route to book them!

  8. It seems ridiculous that this label malarkey even exists. Considering the cost of a cruise, surely labels should be automatically sent to us. After all when on board, labels are readily provided for disembarkation!

  9. We have cruised on several different cruise lines. Twice on Azamara Quest. All ships have had the retractable line in the shower cubicle, as shown above by cruiseaholic78. Very useful when wet cossies or washed 'smalls' are first laid on a bath towel and rolled up tight, then hung to dry overnight. Hang the towel over the shower rail to dry!! Ann.

  10. Thanks for that Jay19. Not too alarming. Actually we can only remember having starboard rooms on all our cruises on different cruiselines. Somehow I don't get lost, but there is no telling where I might find myself with a portside room! Ann

  11. Hi Jay19, we have room 7094 booked on Journey for 23rd June this year. Slightly alarmed to read there had been a comment about this room on uktogs 'spreadsheet' . Can you enlighten us please or maybe you have a link to the information?

    Many thanks, Paul & Ann.

  12. Just checked the Celebrity website and it still states that flowers are included. It doesn't mention them in the Aqua class description but then Aqua class is stated to have all the Concierge extras plus a few more ie Blu etc.

Will have to see in 3 weeks time and report back!!

    Cheers

    Tom

Hi Tom, hope you had a great cruise.

Just wondered if flowers were provided.

    Regards

    Comas.

  13. We were on Constellation 14th - 26th June, Concierge Class. Amongst other missing items, we noted there were no flowers. Just three green apples. We spoke to a crew member at the Captains Club desk as Concierge was not open. Apparently flowers were no longer provided and our TA should have informed us! Had our TA known about this, she would definitely have let us know.

We had a look on Celebrity website and sure enough flowers were still mentioned for Concierge. We let them know and their website was immediately amended! This would have been on or about 15th June. Hope that explains the confusion.
