  1. I thought there were some food items that they now make a charge for ....
  2. Am looking to see what the IC is still serving and what they are charging extra for these days... the IC is a hidden gem on Princess' ships that I enjoy a lot. Need a sneak preview of what I'll be enjoying on my next cruise please!
  3. Would love to hear more about Scrubba! That seems to beat waiting in the laundry room for a washer. How hard is it to use? Did it get stuff really clean and how hard was it to rinse the soap out of the clothes?
  4. We have the govt tests and they come two to a box. Were you able to use those? The box is open and with the emed tests they say not to open the box until the proctor is on. Well ... we used one of the tests. The box is open. Is that gonna be okay? And have you traveled w/these people's certificate yet? It was acceptable?
  5. No one likes doing it but for a long cruise we expect we'll have to do some laundry... so what's your best tip for how to do laundry on board? What have you had good luck doing in your cabin - the bath tub or sink? What about using the ship's laundromat? Is it jammed on a sea day? Other good ideas for laundry?
  6. and this is what I get for not doing the reading myself! THANK YOU!
  7. RCI has a nice link on their page to the emed/Abbot/NAVICA app tests and we used those recently. Princess doesn't seem to have a recommended test or partner. Everybody doing emed or you got another source?
  8. Does everyone in a cabin have to get the Princess Plus or Princess Premiere pkg or can just one person get it?
  9. Was recently on another cruise line and we bought one internet package. When my wife wanted to get on it would say "This is for one device only - knock the other device off so you can get on?" (okay, it was worded a lot more tech-ese than that but this is what it meant). Since wife and I didnt' want to sit on the Internet but only do quick checks having one device on at a time worked fine. Question: is that how Princess wifi works? Question: what about the the Medallion app? Does the wife need a wifi pkg to be able to message me, find me on the ship, order food to her chair side, etc?
  10. This is so good. It's about grace and gratitude. It's about being glad to say "thank you" with something a little extra for someone who is doing more than is expected. And that is how you come back refreshed and renewed ... I've been pampered and treated to a high level of care and I am soooo grateful for it! It's the opposite of entitlement or compulsion. Well said!
  11. And lots and lots of talk about what you should and should not wear in the MDR and on formal night. We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccck! LOL
  12. Was recently on another cruise line and you could lobster every night in the MDR for a considerable extra charge. You could also have prime rib too, also for an additional charge. So ... does Princess does this too? Will there be an additional charge for various items in the Emerald Princess?
  13. Maybe here are two factors to consider: 1. I think most nearly everyone will agree that the cruise lines are all still scrambling to keep everything going and that has necessitated some changes. Shortages and supply chain issues aren't helping that either. 2. Rating food is entirely subjective. What one person loves, another will not. And a big part of that is what you're eating regularly. I remember when DW and I were first married and we were quite poor. McDonalds on a Friday night for burgers and a small fry (shared!) was a delicious treat! Not many seek the Golden Arches for a special treat, do they? We don't either (any more). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what is delicious is in the mouth of the taster. The point? Your mileage may vary.
  14. So what's a bag of laundry to be done by Princess cost? Say 3 pairs of jeans, 3 shirts and 3 t-shirts?
  15. In the US we have some expected percentages in restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Trying to see what that looks like over in the UK. What's the "standard" tip? What would be a "wow, this was way above and beyond what I expected and I want you to know it with this tip" tip? Do we tip in local currency or US dollars? Is there a standard tip for excursion guides? Oh yes ... what about offending with a tip? Any place Americans tip because that's what we do over here but in the UK it's a big no-no and offends people? Thanks!
  16. Not interested in debating it, just want to know if anyone has had an official with Princess say "you can't do that" or "that's okay but don't do ______." I'm guessing nothing that leaves a sticky residue or intrudes into the hallway, obstructs the room steward etc. We're talking a simple sign with magnets so I can find my door easily. And ... anyone got door dimensions? Thanks.
  17. I'd really like a kettle to make coffee first thing in the morning. Yes, I know you can get a thermos of hot water via room service. Yes, I know they have coffee in food court upstairs. I want my own kettle to make my own coffee on my own balcony. #coffeesnob So... how do I get one without being in a high dollar suite? I'd really like a kettle in my balcony room. Have you asked your room steward for a kettle? Did you get one? Thoughts on how to get a kettle? Please help keep this thread on track - it's about kettles. Thanks!
