  1. I agree the "sale" probably stunk for most folks who had already booked well in advance. However, there were a few who benefitted...me included. I had just booked my cruise for this coming February the weekend prior to the sale. Our per person rate "jumped" a mere 13.50 per person, on top of which we each received a $50 OBC. In those cases, the "sale" works. Not many people do benefit, but sometimes it happens.

  2. I'm currently trying to book a cruise on Royal Caribbean's website. When prompted for our C&A numbers, I input mine fine, but it keeps rejecting my wife's saying it's not a valid number. I have her card right here in front of me. When I fill out the form with our name and information for them to fill it out automatically, it processes and fills in a C&A number for both of us that I've never seen before. I don't know what to do. Suggestions?

It keeps rejecting mine as well (although everyone else in the family was fine). I'm going to call RCI to have it added.

  3. Hello,

Can anyone share with me if magnets stick to the door on the Enchantment. We've been traveling Disney for several years and decorating the door when we go.

Thanks in advance if you can help.

Ha! We are Disney too, but sailing the Enchantment at the beginning of February. This will be my first time on her, but I'm bringing magnets anyway just in case!

  4. Hi all! Has anyone recently stayed in stateroom 4077 on the Enchantment of the Seas? Just looking for basic info. Third bed is a sofa bed, not pullman correct (deck plan says so, but would like to verify)? Other bed can be split, but is a normal bed otherwise? And how terrible is the noise from Boleros just above?

    TIA!!!

  5. I looked at the deckplans and there is only one interior cabin that lists a sofa bed and that is on deck 8. All the other interiors that sleep 3 have a Pullman. You could always ask your cabin steward to make up the sofa as a bed but it may be more of a Loveseat size. A lot would depend on the size of the passenger using it.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm 5'4" so I'm good with a sofa bed, but I'm guessing they will not make it up as a bed unless it is a true option.

  6. We sailed the Fascination in January to celebrate my husband and his twin sister's 60th birthday. Since the in laws live in Jacksonville, sailing her was an easy choice.

I loved many things about the ship; her size, the crew and the weather was perfect for this Florida girl now living in Kentucky.

Honestly, my very favorite part was sailing down the St. Johns River. It was very special to sit on the balcony with the in laws and listen to my husband and his sister talk about all the places on shore as we cruised by...simply loved that part.

Also, I can't remember the name of the guy who helps sail the ship out of the river...but...anyway...that guy. We were able to see the 'guy' get off the Fascination and step onto his boat right before we sailed out of the mouth of the river. He was on our side, right below our balcony. Very, very cool!!

    Oh..and I loved the price.

We sail in two week out of New Orleans on the Dream...time to celebrate my 60th!

    Have fun!!!

    Jayne

I'm hoping to have fun soon on her! Guess my time to sail her from Jax is drawing to a close so I better make plans soon!

  7. Oh my...mom waking you up after that night of birthday partying...not fun! Glad Carnival was able to get the wine stain out of your dress...major props to them.

    Cucina looks fabulous!

Love the story about the four captains. Just showed it to my husband, thinking he would think that was very cool. Well, he already knew about it! Apparently he read an article on them awhile back. And he did not tell me! LOL

  8. Finally caught up! I am really enjoying this review especially since it looks like we will be sailing Carnival in 2016. As you can see from my signature we are not the biggest Carnival fans; however the best itineraries out of Canaveral are on Carnival, and I must admit I am more interested in sailing with them now that I have seen the Breeze (and now Magic!) in pictures.

As for Miss Jamaica...yes she was SCREWED ROYALLY out of the title! What a shame that was.

Looking forward to reading about your birthday!

  9. My mom brought one of the new puzzle books I got her and we could not figure this one out. Can anyone get it without using a calculator, and what was your strategy?

    37, 46, 31

Got it pretty much right away. I looked for three numbers in the 1's column that would add up to 4/14, then looked for three numbers in the 10's column that would add up to the 100's.

At first I focused on the 37, 27, and 20 since those stood out but after adding them up realized I needed a higher number somewhere in the equation since those added up to only 84. Zoomed in on that 46 thinking that was probably needed, from there kept my high 36 in the mix, and realized I would need something ending in 1.

  10. Underwhelmed to say the least. As far as Victory for the short cruises, it's great! But we were really hoping for something a bit better for the longer cruises. Had Valor still been on schedule for a dry dock prior to summer 2016 then it would have been a perk. Now? Not so much.

  11. Enjoyed your review tremendously! Sorry you had some down points with the cabin steward and with the tour guide. However, it sounds like overall you had an awesome cruise!

My husband and I are always the same way about leaving the plates, glasses, etc. behind for someone to clean-up. LOL My husband said they should have an evening where guests serve the crew...I think that would be totally fun!

Keep us posted on which cruise you do end up booking next...can't wait for that review!

  12. I usually end my reviews indicating our next cruise plans. I thought I had it all figured out, and that we would be sailing on the Breeze next January. But then an unbelievable promo came up...

Norwegian ran a promo of "Kids Sail Free" combined with the free Ultimate Beverage Package. So, I immediately booked Norwegians newest ship, the Getaway, for a 7-day cruise to Ochos Rios, Great Stirrup Cay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We will be in our first ever balcony cabin in a guarantee (GTY) cabin for the 4 of us. The balcony GTY cabin was actually cheaper than the Large Ocean View. My husband and I get unlimited drinks and the kids get the soda package. AND, we get $125 OBC. And the total cost including taxes and fees is... drum roll... $2052!!! Unbelievable.

    Congratulations on a great deal!!!

Thank you for this awesome review on the Sunshine. I have my eye on sailing her, and this review may have just pushed me over the edge to make that jump. :)
