  1. When on Oasis in late July a server at the Beach Club said the new beach was to open in January but only for Icon cruisers, Does anyone have any updates on this, and when it may open to other ships? Thanks
  2. I will be on Anthem this Thanksgiving. I did Symphony on Thanksgiving some years ago and we ate in Chops and they brought us the Turkey from MDR. Does anyone know if the other specialty restaurants will do that also, like Izumi? Thanks.
  3. Portside still had some of the best food on the ship- we ate there twice.
  4. Nassau does have trams but you need to look for the boarding area when you get off the ship, as when I got off the Oasis I did not see the area ( or sign) and there was no one around to ask about them, but we knew they existed. I walked the distance and it was awful. I was able to get one back from the pier to the ship- there is a marked boarding area at the beginning of the pier. I think RCCL needs to be more handicap friendly. This was a big issue for me on Coco Cay.
  5. I was on the Oasis a few weeks ago and saw many scooters in the corridors morning and night, so not sure if the rule is enforced.
  6. I cannot comment on Allure but the Chef's Table on Oasis recently was awful. I had the same experience as to the wines. However, I thought the food was awful. The steak I had subsequently at the Coco Cay Beach Club , as well as the steak at Hibachi, was far superior. I have done Chef's Table many times over the years and doubt I will again unless the menu and wines change.
  7. The honey chicken was my daughter's favorite thing when we got on the ship. Then when it was discontinued we did Park Cafe and now do the Key, but that lunch can really vary.
  8. Thank you. Were you able to use the beach as well, or was that just for hotel guests?
  9. I saw you got a cabana at Baha Mar. Can you clarify how you booked that? I will be on Anthem in Nov. and cannot figure it out. Thanks.
  10. I was at the Coco Cay Beach Club 2 weeks ago and people said there were jellyfish in the ocean.
  11. Thank you. Pre Covid they charged for them but included champagne and waters.
  12. To anyone who has been on a recent Anthem Bahamas cruise, are there still sunbeds near the North Star Bar available to rent per day? Thank you.
  13. I was there last week. I needed assistance. When you get off the ship you can ask for one of the handicap accessible shuttles if you need that. If you do, see if Katrena is driving as she is wonderful. When you leave the island, the shuttle will take you to the area where you get shuttles back to the ship. Again, see if you can get Katrena, She really tries to help older persons. I was treated very badly by one shuttle driver, when leaving the Beach club, and by the woman dispatcher at the Depot . The island overall is not conducive to the elderly in my opinion but the Coco Cay Beach Club was still an exceptional experience.
  14. I suggest cruisers consider Margaritaville Day pass which we booked through Resortforaday. We were on same cruise and did that. Other than confusion getting off the ship to the taxis ( there are shuttles but they were not advertised when we got off the ship), there were no issues getting to Margaritaville which is much closer to the ship. The beach is small, but very nice. Everyone we encountered was super kind and helpful, and there is a pool with a lazy river. Food is extra but was very good. If you have limited time in Nassau I really suggest considering Margaritaville. I would do it again even if in Nassau all day was well.
  15. I just got off the ship. Make sure you go to the Trellis Bar and Music Hall bar upstairs as the guys working there are the best.
  16. I am currently on the Oasis. I thought if I booked on the cruise I would get a reduced deposit for a jr suite next yr on another cruise. However the agent told me that it did not apply and my deposit was 10% of the fare but I got a small credit, I showed her the Next Cruise sheet I got with my boarding packet that I thought meant deposit was around $200 but she said that was different and if I did that I then needed to call RCCL directly to book a cruise. If anyone can clarify this it would be appreciated. Thank you.
  17. Merion_Mom I live near you. What location do you put in for the terminal as for some reason I cannot get an address to input for Cape Liberty. For some reason, I thought I could not use Uber to and from the terminal from where we are in Pa. Thank you.
  18. I am on Oasis next week and was curious if anyone in recent sailings in a Jr. Suite was able to book Coastal Kitchen.
  19. Thank you. I am not trying to make a big deal out of this but I want to make sure I am at the Solarium when it opens to get chairs as I was last on the Symphony on its inaugural US cruise, and by the time I was at breakfast every chair in the Solarium was taken. I still don't know whey the App did not update for my latest changes but I can contact RCCL.
  20. I thought I did but app still did not update my current dining ( I book specialty restaurants in advance) so not sure what is going on. I haven't sailed since before the virus, and not at my age an App person, so hope this all works out.
  21. I am sailing end of July. . I thought Solarium opened early for breakfast but someone posted a Compass and it says it does not open till 9.30 am. Does anyone know when it opens now? Thanks.
  22. I put a bid on for a Grand Suite but when I go online to see what is available on my cruise - Oasis, it says the ship is sold out. I don't understand then why Royal still pushes for people to try to upgrade, and they are, in all suite categories. Is this a common practice?
  23. I really enjoyed your review as on the Oasis July 28. Perhaps you can help with a question I have as to Port Canaveral where I have never been. I have mobility issues and cannot walk long distances. In some ports over the yrs I have been lucky and have found wheelchair services or shuttles to take me to down the docks. Can you advise if at Port Canaveral there were any such services or if not how long the walk is? I booked the excursion to the Hilton ( RCCL one) but I gather the shuttle is at the end of the Pier. Any info is really appreciated. Thank you.
