  1. My DD's had E701 obstructed oceanview on the Crown this past week. I don't have pictures but there had NOTHING in front of the picture window. If you looked to the far right a couple of cabins away from E701 you could see a white metal wall but NOTHING in front of E701.. They paid for an obstructed cabin but got a oceanview cabin. Highly recommend this cabin.

  2. The ship does offer post cruise excursions going to FLL and MIA. These excursions are only offered once on board. You submit the form and a couple of days later, they tell you if there are enough passengers wanting it, to have the excursion. The bus holds your luggage until you are dropped off at the airport usually around 1-2pm. It is a nice way to waste time instead of waiting at the airport. I have taken it a couple of times.

I don't know if you or your TA contact RCI and asking if they would have a post cruise excursion for that many of people or if they could make one for your group?

  3. Great to read all of the questions and fantastic responses-very nice site at CC!

Questions: We are booked in December for a cruise B2B with Princess-it departs out of FLL. We will arrive 2 days before embarkation and stay a day after we return.

Would you fly into FLL or Miami?

If money were not a problem-where would you stay pre and post cruise?

we are only 2 adults-late 50's-have stayed in the past at 17th street at Amerisuites which we did not care for[liked the Embassy across the street].

My DS loves the beach and to be pampered.-like westin/Ritz/etc.

My flight into MIA will be cheaper but will probably break even with transportation to FLL for the hotel/port.

Looking forward to hearing back ;)

The Amerisuites is now the Hyatt Place North.

  4. We will be flying into FLL the morning prior to our cruise on Emerald Princess. Is there any descent hotels in safe areas that has a shuttle pick up at the airport to their hotel and then a shuttle to the pier? Would the hotel be close to restaurants?

We just returned from the Emerald on Sunday.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place North. Free shuttle to/from hotel/airport/port, free continental breakfast and there are restaurants within walking distance.

    Have a great time.

  5. Hi there-

So happy to have stumbled upon this thread!

As you can see in my countdown, I'll be leaving out of FLL on a cruise on 11/28. We'll be coming in on 11/27 and I feel overwhelmed with the hotel search. I don't want to do priceline or hotwire because that would require paying up front and our plans are still not 100% concrete. We are looking for a hotel that has airport and cruiseport shtutles, if possible.

I found good rates for the Hyatt Pier 66 ($118 for garden/double) and the Hyatt Place ($119) via hyatt.com. Are either of these good?

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer.

The Hyatt Place has a shuttle to/from airport/port, continental breakfast and close restaurant, grocery stores.

    If that helps.

  6. I did Priceline in June. With Priceline, I " bid " under Downtown Ft Lauderdale, 3 or 4*(cann't remember) for March 27. I had to do a few tries until I bid $100 and received the Hyatt Place with taxes and service fee came to $119.81. Hotel site wants $230.

We have been to this hotel when it was another name. There is a continental breakfast, shuttle to/from airport/port, close to restaurants, and stores.

Go to http://www.biddingfortravel.com will help you get started.

  7. Have enjoyed all your help before.

We are booked through Priceline for the Hyatt Place near 17th Street for March 2010 so cann't cancel. I have read on another thread there might be problems with the hotel. Have you heard of anything.
