  1. He will be able to attend the events with you but he won't get things like the free bag of laundry and the free wifi minutes/30% wifi package discount.
  2. We were able to order from any menu on the Beyond a few weeks ago. We tried them all bu enjoyed the Cosmo the most.
  3. We stayed at the Hampton Inn FLL/Cruise Port North on Rt 84 last month. We won't go back. Too many problems that no one, including Hilton/Hampton corporate want to address. Great location but a lousy property.
  4. Lyft/Uber was really easy for us last month. Side note, you should really put this on the Florida Departure board.
  5. Pre-COVID was had pretty good success in getting upgraded when prices dropped after final payment. They won't offer it, you have to call and ask and push a little bit. Post COVID we have only been on two cruise and both were pretty full so no price drops.
  6. It is great technology but I think they only use it on a closed loop cruise. One that starts and ends in the US.
  7. IF you are not planning to play during the cruise why not use Ship Sticks? Saves you dragging them to the port, on and off the ship, etc.
  8. Thanks. In my mind customs and immigration is just one big thing....No US ports before Boston. The trip goes around Iceland, to Greenland, one stop in Canada and then Boston. BUT, does anyone know if they have Global Entry at the port?
  9. Looking at a cruise from Iceland to Boston this August and trying to sort out our return flight. I understand the challenges of getting from the port to Logan but I can't find anything about how long it can take to clear customs. Recent trips out of Bayonne and FLL were closed loops and we did nothing more than walk off, get our face scanned to verify we had been on the ship and we were off and running. This trip is not a closed loop so I am left wondering what to expect. We do have Global Entry and we normally just walk off with out luggage. TIA.
  10. We were on this cruise and appreciated her updates and her professionalism. The wind was blowing at 45 knots that morning and the channel into St. Johns Antigua is very narrow. Better to have an unplanned day at sea than a ship stuck on the bottom because someone decided to take the risk. Earlier in the week we ran into her while walking around and she stopped to answer some questions for us. My wife wanted to know how she and her seafaring husband managed rasing kids being a way so much, or do you have kids? The reply, "Not that I know of...." I asked how a lady from Las Vegas which is in the middle of the desert became a cruise ship captain. Turns out she grew up in California and fell in love with cruise ships when her parents took her on a cruise when she was 12....She is a real asset to Celebrity.
  11. Sunrise behind the wake of Celebrity Beyond on the way back to Ft. Lauderale from the southern Caribbean. Sony A6400, Sony 18-200mm lens.
  12. Another vote for Blurb. The software is easy to use and the quality is really good. I like people who make me look good.
  13. Once you are onboard you can reserve your dining times. The staff will always try to keep you with the same team because it benefits them in the long run. I have seen the same thing on the M and S class ships and my time dining. They like to keep you with the same staff as much as possible to you are more likely to add an additional tip at the end of your cruise.
  14. I got to the pool deck a few minutes later....
  15. We were on Beyond two weeks ago in the Caribbean. I got up early one morening to make a sunrise picture and get some early monring light images around the ship. Can anyone say chair hogs? Good luck getting 9 together before 7am
  16. The best deals that I have found are during a Black Friday or July 4 sale when the wifi packages are often cut by 50%. Sadly we cannot get the Elite discount on that sale price most of the time. The 30% off/90 free minutes is an either or deal so I have come to question the real value of the "benefit" since I can often it cheaper during a sale.
  17. We were on the Beyond last week. Looked the MC over and found the seats are nice and comfortable but you are outside and the space is not that big really compared to our old favorites the Sky Lounge and the Rendezvous. Cute idea but I just don't get the big whoop with it. No tender ports so I cant address that issue.
  18. I am sure you could but they pretty much want you off the ship by 9:30 or so. We had told our cabin attendant we planned to walk off around 8am and at 8:01 he was at the door ready to get cleaning.
  19. We were on the same trip and did self assist with two large rolling bags and had no issues. They did set aside two early time slots, from around 7:30am to 8am and 8am to 8:30am with a meeting place set as Eden but we just left our cabin at 8:10am and took the elevator to deck 5 and the gangway and off we went. It was easy.
  20. Thanks, not stressing, just trying to cross all of the t's and dot all of the i's after a long travel day
  21. We board the Beyond tomorrow at noon, checked in ages ago, have the xpress passes from the web site printed as back up but using the app there is no health questionaire, no xpress passes, just a note that "they are still gathering information". Is this normal? or just Celebrity's usual IT failure or am I don't something wrong?
  22. It is all supply and demand. IF they are booked up then they don't need to offer any discounts....typically there are first night discounts since it is not normally a busy time for the specialty dining.
  23. I book with at TA, final payment for a trip was due a day or two before the close of a billing cycle for my card. I asked my agent about delaying the payment by 3 days to throw the charge into another billing cycle and give me 50 days to pay it rather than 25 days. As a TA he said they had the flex built in so he could do it. It was easy, it was safe. OP, if you want to do it, ask your seller, they know a whole lot more about their rules than we do...
  24. Those shingles shots are tough....but needed. I saw my cardiologist 3 weeks ago and asked about the new COVID shots. His reply "YES, GET IT, I got it, the shot, my daughter had COVID recently and it was nasty". So listening to medical professional so I see every 6 months I went and got my shot, cruise is in 10 days and now I just hope and pray it all goes well and I will be bringing my own test kits just to be safe. I have tried the "you could have easily died" thing twice in my life and I like the living part a whole lot better so if I err, it is on the side of caution.
  25. That is just plain crazy. We have done cabin changes in the past without any issues at all. For our upcoming Iceland ruise the TA picked a cabin for us but I liked another one better and he had no problem changing it since both were in the same catagory.
