  1. LOL. In another thread earlier today, someone posted a You Tube of that cruise guy Don. He was almost hysterical over this possible strike. I was SMH over it, thinking the workers were cutting off their noses to spite their faces with that and cruise ships. It would be the death knell for that business on our west coast after the Covid mess and pussy-footing around over that. Of course, they know what means a fair amount of work and they want to keep the general public on-side as much as possible, so they will just disrupt shipments and such I suppose. It's still an economic hit if turns into something major. I was not surprised to read your post, clarifying what happens if a full-blown strike gets going.
  2. Correct - they all had expiry dates. PCL has not offered these for a couple of years now - or close to it.
  3. You have to be able to book "your voyage" with fare promo code MM5 in order to get this new offer.
  4. The price has been $100 for as long as I have known about UBD, so I could hardly complain about a $10 increase now. Also, 2 CG covers is $78 and for $32 more, the UBD is well worth the extra investment.
  5. Your post takes me back and we did have a photo taken - outside as I recall, although we setup to eat inside due to weather conditions. There was only 1 day left in the voyage and never got the photo. Afterwards. I didn't try to contact the ship and then forgot and now it will be much too late. Perhaps a do-over is in our future.
  6. It is not a maybe at all. Where you suggest sounds just fine. What you do is contact Princess well ahead at Customer Relations and place a request. If you booked via a TA, they should have the information and be able to submit it on your behalf. Just explain what you want to do and they notify the ship. We just did this last October in Messina, Sicily, getting off before ship returned to Civitavecchia. We spent six days in Sicily, flew to FCO, and then out to Civi and got onto another PCL ship. ETA: It is called a deviation request. AFAIK, you should let them know before you sail, but the post above indicates you can let them know on board. If so, I would get to Guest Services pronto after boarding. They do prepare a list of anyone disembarking early and pass it on to the authorities at that port. A Princess GS rep met us and we were clocked off the ship at the end of the day. (Normally, such guests depart in the morning, but we left later in the afternoon officially).
  7. So... PCL is going to use this change in current/future marketing campaigns to offer boosted benefit from time to time and figure that may generate more sales interest.
  8. In Balcony cabins, the extra beds are recessed in the ceiling, so do not pose a hindrance. The only downside is you have two extra life preservers kicking around.
  9. Each cabin must have its own booking confirmation. You can combine charges ( have all three cabin accounts paid by your CC) on board and of course paying for the cruise with TA is a separate thing from on board charges and you can obviously pay for all three bookings with TA.
  10. FP. But you can just wait until embarkation day and charge it to your cabin account.
  11. I am sure someone in the know posted a long time ago that Siebaldi was gone from PCL. IDK if Collin is still in his role or not (no contact to/from CR for a long time now).
  12. In any case, considering how far out FEB 2024 is, he could be off or could change to another ship.
  13. If I did so, it would reveal one or two TA companies since the name is in the URL. Otherwise, I'd be happy to. In fact, even other ones I have looked at all contain the agency name in the URL since it is part of their web domain.
  14. Often when that happens, I just assume they were settling GTY bookings. Otherwise, no idea other than marketing hijinks.
  15. Whatever supplement might be added for a solo cruiser booking a cabin, it does not apply when including Plus/Premier cruise fare packages. Only one charge. Of course guest can now wait and order upon boarding the ship.
  16. Sorry, but I don't see the argument for a solo getting to double-dip on the OBC. PCL policy is now one per person. Any OBC earned/granted is spent on the ship. I do not subscribe to a theory that a solo is going to spend as much as when they traveled with partner. Excursion cost is per person not per cabin. Drinks and SD charges are per person and doubt someone is going to drink for two people (okay, there will be one in every crowd). A solo traveler only pays for one Plus/Premier package. Only the cabin is up-charged and has nothing to do with what OBC covers. I might be a minority, but IMO, a solo cruiser is being treated the same and fairly along with couples in terms of the SOBC and MOBC policy. I believe I am in the same camp as @ldtr.
  17. This is not directed at you, but Carnival and other companies need to update their language and include the US Space Force which is a new branch of the military.
  18. Canada and USA are same market and "see" the same cabin selections, etc, and share promotion codes (except there can be region-specific offers that apply to some States and/or Canada).
  19. All things being equal, a member PCL guest here is going to pick the capacity 2 cabin over the capacity 4 cabin all day long. Some cabin categories accept >2 guests in all cabins of that category.
  20. Sure, but we don't know what number PCL uses to calculate the 18% component. I would expect they use the 18%, but on what number?
