  1. I sent you a friend request in hopes of being able to send you a private message. I have a question for you based on your Fantasy review that I felt was best not put in the thread. We are leaving on her Friday, and "prefer our own mixing." I saw that you had good luck this time, but bad luck in March. Any way to message me on here or not?

Hmmm. Are you a member of that social networking site that we aren't allowed to mention here? You could friend me there. (Nancy Follin Infinger)

They don't have the option of private messages here on CC.

  2. In October I stayed in porthole cabin E-7. This was by far my most favorite porthole to stay in. I LOVED the location and being on E deck. It was just a hop, skip and a jump to the atrium bar, guest services and the internet café.

I only heard some of the music from the stage above on one night and it was quite muted so it didn't bother me at all. This was around 9pm so it really didn't affect my sleep.

You can check on cruiselinerooms dot com and see if your cabin is listed there. It's chock full of pictures that passengers have uploaded so it's pretty accurate on how your cabin will look. If they don't have pics of that cabin for the ship you are staying in, you can look at the sister ships to get an idea as well. Fantasy, Fascination, Sensation, Imagination are a few that I can think of that are all in the same class as your ship.

  3. I have been wondering the same thing?? Where are the keys?

    Enjoyed the review!

I left the keys in the car for the attendant to park it. That would have been TERRIBLE if I had locked them in the car. I am glad you enjoyed the review. I am debating if I will write one for my May sailing. I have written so many Fantasy reviews and have already done this one for the ports of call. I guess if I DO do one then it would be purely for my own benefit. LOL

  4. Thank you so much for the review! Love all of your reviews! DH and I are doing this same cruise in September. I can't wait. BTW, you really don't look old enough to have a 20 year old!

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Oh you are too kind! I think I love you! :D:p

Just joined CC today, my 1st cruise ever will be to LSC and Nassau in Dec 2014. Would love to see your review of LSC but cannot seem to find it...any ideas?? PS....love your other reviews!!

This is the review for LSC. Are the pics showing up naynay?

  5. Just back from LSC this weekend. AMAZING. I read all4funs review before we went and did barefoot beach and was not disappointed. The tide was low when we got there so I walked out a couple hundred yards and got to see some cool stuff. Your kids will love it. I will try to get some pics posted this week but you can read her review like she mentioned.

I am happy that the review was helpful for you! That is my main goal when writing reviews. Well, that and having a written account of my trip. :)

  6. YES! If you follow the dirt path away from the tenders along the shore line you will end up at Barefoot Beach. Very quiet and not a lot of people know to look for it. I was just there in October on Fascination and I liked it so much that I booked the same itinerary in May on the Fantasy.

I plan on doing a walking video of the island and I can post it here for others to see. It's about a 7 minute walk from the area where the picnic food is to Barefoot.

The water is shallow for quite a ways from the beach. There is a review in my signature below that has TONS of pics of LSC. If you want to skip all of the other stuff and get right to LSC, you can just skip pages until you find it. It was seaday, nassau, lsc, seaday so it should be easy to find. SOOOOO many pics.

Oh, and if you look on youtube, there is a guy that made a really neat video of LSC. Look for the one with a pic of the guy holding his hand out. I think he does travel videos

  7. I fell in love with Barefoot Beach on Coco Cay (Little Stirrup Cay is what Carnival calls it). I just went here in October on Carnival Fascination. My main priority was finding my way to this secluded beach and I was impressed. The sand was like powdered sugar and you could walk wayyyyyyyyyy out into the water and still be only about knee deep. Some friends and I spent over an hour sitting in the water, having cocktails, conversation and just staring out at the horizon. Very peaceful.

I would say that Barefoot Beach wouldnt be ideal for snorkeling since it is so shallow. We freaked some kayakers out when we saw them coming and stood up to get out of their way. Since we were so far out I bet they thought it was pretty deep.

There are SEVERAL pictures in my review in my signature below. You will have to skip pages to get to that section of the review. It was our last port stop on a 5 day sailing. So, if you just skip past first sea day, and then Nassau, you will begin to see the pics and offerings for Little Stirrup Cay (CoCo Cay)

Oh, and I liked it so much that I booked the same itinerary leaving out of Charleston on Carnival Fantasy. :)

  8. I just qualified for the referral program too. My PVP brought it to my attention when I booked my May cruise and my friend called in to book as well. He even filled out all of the "paperwork" for us and all we have to do is remember to check in 2 weeks prior to sailing.

$50.00 for me and $50.00 for her.

  9. I have stayed in porthole cabins on Fantasy (U-15 & R-1) and Fascination (E-7). I try to book porthole cabins on all of our sailings.

What I love about them: Easy to find my cabin, cant beat the price, sitting in the shelf and looking out the porthole, perfect size for two people. Ultimately we choose the porthole cabin simply because we aren't in our cabin but to sleep, change and refresh cocktails. I can peek outside in the morning and see what the weather is like, dress for my day and head up to lido.

Drawbacks (for some folks): Pulling into port there is some vibration even if they aren't lowering the anchor. It doesn't bother me because it acts as a nudge to get me moving when we are in port. There is a bit of motion up there especially in the evening. (Do they pull up stabilizers in the evening to make faster progress? I thought I read that somewhere) But the motion is what I enjoy. It let's me know I am at sea. Crew doors...in R-1 and E-7 there are crew doors right next to the rooms. There was a fair amount of traffic from various members of crew during the day and early evening hours but I never heard any noise during the evening. Oh and in E-7 there was one night we could hear something from the venue above but it was only around 9pm and we were getting ready to head back out at that time.

  10. As far as bathrooms go on Fantasy, I have always avoided the ladies room by the pool. Especially on a sea day. It's really difficult for the staff to keep up with the demand of those bathrooms and they tend to get a bit dirty and sometimes there is a wait.

Andrew and I found the perfect solution. If you go into the atrium area and simply go down one flight of steps there are bathrooms just to the right and left of the glass elevators when you step off. They are always clean and every time I have gone in there they have been spotless and no wait. Andrew calls them the "Executive Bathrooms". I also like that they have the button that you push to open the door (I use my elbow) and it's not stifling hot in there.

Just make sure you aren't dripping wet when you go there and wrap up in a cover up and throw on some sandals.

  11. Do you just mock book each time to check for the PT rooms? I use fareviewer, and all it shows are interior.

So...Right now, my rate for 4 people in 2220 is $1296. Which would be better (when looking at price, not room).. holding on to the porthole or upgrading to balcony. What's the chances I'll get a balcony for 4 at a final price of $1,296 after price drops?

I used Fareviewer since it specifically showed the PT category. I check it everyday, several times a day even after they sell out of the category just in case one comes available and...well...because I am obsessed with price drops. :p

I am not sure about your upgrade question though because I have always just remained in my PT.

The price for my May cruise has gone up $100.00 for PT category. It's going in the wrong direction. :( I sure hope as we get closer, it begins to drop.

  12. At the last minute, right before our December 2012 cruise, one of our friends who was booked in a porthole was offered an upgrade and told us to keep an eye out when his room came available so we could price match. The price had dropped considerably for our sailing but since no PT's were available we couldn't match. Once he upgraded and his room was available we submitted the form and got our final price drop for our PT cabin. We got it for $299.00 for a 7 day in the end!

So keep checking all the way up to the day or so before when most people get offered upgrades.:)

  13. I personally haven't used Faster to the Fun on Fantasy and other than the perk of being able to leave your luggage in your cabin, I haven't seen the need for it. I have never had to wait to embark. I think because the way they shuttle everyone in keeps the lines down on the inside. I am usually right through security, directly up to the counter to check in, embark photo, take pic for sail and sign, first "ding" getting on the ship and then up to lido within 30 minutes total.

I have sailed on her 3 times out of Charleston.

If you are going to a tender port you will have priority tendering but if you aren't going to HMC then I personally would save that money for something fun.

  14. We are planning a girl's getaway on the Fantasy in a couple of weeks. Have seen some recent very negative reviews of the Fantasy and the passengers. Has anyone been on the ship recently and what is your impression.

I have been as recently as December 2012. I have her booked again for May 6th and cant wait. I have always had an amazing time. Very clean ship and super friendly stewards, bartenders and servers.

There are multiple Fantasy reviews in my signature below and I will certainly be doing another review in May.

  15. Just a question but when you get your name changed on your drivers license, don't you have to provide your marriage license to do so? Which would in turn make your drivers license your bridging document?

I got married in 1991 so I don't really remember what I did back then and I have been divorced since 2005 and have no idea where my marriage license is. I haven't been asked for it at Charleston, Miami or Jacksonville. But after reading info about this last year I got scared and I brought my divorce decree which is stamped from the court showing my maiden and married names. I kept my married name because I have been my married name longer than I have been my maiden name. It was just easier to keep it. (and I am rambling....again) :o

But my main question is....isn't it required, in order to obtain a name change on your DL, to provide a copy of the marriage license there fore making the DL the bridging document.
